10lbs by July 4th!
I know that might not even be possible for me but it is a goal I can try to shoot for. Who want to join me in the fight?
Here is a little bit about me. I'm a mostly SAHM of a 3 year old who has battled weight for along time. I won and hit my goal last Christmas the stopped. Over the last few months I gained back 15lbs. I have lost 5 and have 10 more to go. If I lose 5 more I can live with that.
This is a life long battle that I can win!
I'm 38
My highest weight: 235
When I joined CC: 178
Now: 130
Goal 120 to be maintained with a 5lb cushion.
I would like to have a weigh in on Mondays.

I find when I'm having a hungry day I just cook. I might make some soup, I like very hot foods so I'll simmer some garlic and hot peppers in some chicken broth. A cup is 10 calorie satisfaction. Also drink a full glass of water before putting anything in your mouth. A cucumber sliced up makes for a filling muchie buster if you add some lean protein ie, chicken breast or hummus it will stick longer. Air popped popcorn is also low calorie and gives you something to crunch on.
Maybe if you went through some recipe books, find something that you have the stuff for and try to lighten it up. Weigh everything as it goes in so you'll know how to divide up a portion.
I hope your girls moods get better maybe they take nice long naps. I know it must be stressful to be trapped with 2 little ones when they cranky.
Amy-- It's rainy here too, and I don't have to work today so I'm facing the same thing. My suggestion is to make some tea and drink it slowly.. sometimes that helps hold off a craving. I'm also planning on just snacking on low calorie stuff throughout the day because waiting between meals is not sounding like fun today! Good luck!
Thanks leanne,I will try those things. Just had lunch and I'm still hungry. My girls took a early nap but are waking up and I'm sure are ready for lunch. I hope they will be in better moods.
How are you doing? I didn't see your weigh in # or did I just miss it? I did pretty good this past week I hope I can keep it up. Thanks again for the tips!!! Amy
Thanks andi, I think I might do that. I should only have 1297 calories and I am already at 600 and like I said I have already had lunch and still hungry. The rain has cleared up and sun is out but the weather still calls for rain/storms I dont think I should try it:) But maybe later we will see! Well thanks again. Amy
Thanks Leanne and Windrinre! I DARE get on the scale today, I just came on my period! it's 5 days early! so no wonder I was acting like a banchee out of ... and eating the most grossest things eva! Leanne that is a really really good idea for the soup, sounds filling and yum yum...
Shiningstarcs, the suggestions leanne gave you are wonderful, one other thing you can do, is get Fiber filled pasta, the healthy harvest ones are very very fillingm, I like the yolkless spirals, you can add tomatoe sauce and turkey meat (lean) and that is very very satisfyingm you can also make low cal versions of tuna pasta salad, (which btw I think I will do now for lunch!) good luck and try not to let the food take over you, I know it does me sometimes~!
Shapeshifter, speaking of pasta... does anyone know the health/weight loss benefits of whole wheat pasta over regular white pasta? The kind I bought actually has slightly more calories per serving than white durum pasta.. I was wondering if it is worth it to eat the whole wheat or just stick to the durum.
Also-- I am part Italian, and grew up eating pasta every day. I feel like I need to cut it out to lose weight, but I love it soo much and find it hard to give up! Is anyone else in the same boat, or has experience keeping pasta in their diet but still losing weight?
hello. Andi WW pasta is better for you because of it's whole grains and nutrient levels. It also tends to fill you up more and stay with you longer. Kind of like brown rice vs. white. It is just a little less processed.
I hope everyone has had a good week. I'm ready to just try and maintain this weekend. I have company coming and a baby-shower and a birthday party.... I will be strong.
I will try to check back later.
Andie - Leanne is right, it sticks with you longer and it has added nutrients, I like the Omega - 3 / Fiber Whole Grain Pasta - Rozoniti makes a great spiral pasta, I love love it. I do try NOT to eat it every day though it's a once or twice a week thing if even that. So if I make it it better be worth it. I know that white pasta has a tendancy to slow weight loss due to the carb consumption, when you load carbs you have mass energy and if you don't burn that mass energy it stores itself in the body for later use. Unless your a long distance runner or a tri-athlete, which needs carbs for long term energy. You get used to the taste also, after a while, just make a yummy healthy sauce, you'll be good to go and satisfied. I haven't had white pasta in a long long time, well it's only been 2months but still a pasta lover like me, that's eternity ;)

Welcome mammerma! It's never too late.
I hope everyone has great plans for the weekend and sticks with mostly healthy choices.
I am a daily weigher myself but after a nice meal of ham last night as in a NE boiled dinner and then topping it off with popcorn before bed.... I forgot to weigh in this morning. I will continue to consume the ham over the next few day so I am going to try to keep my water intake up.
I am late starting this by almost two weeks, but I would still like to try and maybe shoot for 8 lbs instead. I used to be a CC member (there is more about it in my profile) and I lost 65 lbs, however I have started gaining weight since my April wedding, and I have just started up again today for the first time in so long! *fingers crossed* this works :) I don't want to get super overweight again!

I'd like to join ^^
I'm 20 years old and I'm beginning university in september. I've always been the fat girl in every school and I wouldn't want this to continue. 10 months ago I began to diet with the help of a professioanl nutritionist and lost somewhere between 26-27 lbs (about 12 kg). I weight now 147.4 (67 kg) and I'm 5' 7.7" (172 cm). I'll try to lose these 10 lbs by myself!
I too would like to join, I'm 20 years old and have struggled with weight my entire life. In November last year I hit my highest weight at 270, but since then have worked really hard changing my lifestyle to incorporate healthier meals, counting calories, excercise, and various other small changes. Since then I have got down to 215lbs and am pretty excited.
Thanks Leanne and Shapeshifter! I'll definitely check out that Omega-3/ Fiber pasta.. that sounds healthy. I also didn't know about white pasta slowing weight loss.. yikes!
I'm kind of excited to weigh in tomorrow. I felt like this week I was on track. I guess we'll see.. the truth is on the scale. Fingers crossed for everyone to have lost this week!
Hope everyone has a good rest of your weekend, see you tomorrow for weigh in.
Welcome to the newcomers!!
It took me 5.5 months to lose 24 lbs, but I only started exercising in earnest over the last 5-6 weeks. So, having taken up the Roll Call!! June challenge in another forum, I am going to amp up the incentive by pledging to lose 10lbs by July 4. That's 10lbs in 6 weeks or 1.6lbs per week.
The way I figure it, to reach my 1250 minutes of exercise in the month of June, I need to work out 56 minutes a day/5 days per week. That gives me two days of rest (2 days of workout, 1 day of rest, rinse, repeat).
I also just read that by eating 60% of your calories earlier in the day versus at night/dinner, you lose weight faster... So on the nutrition factor for this goal, I pledge to each breakfast (which I always skip) and to eat no later than 8pm. My normal dinner time is 8:30 or 9pm, so that's not good.
My starting weight is 148. I would LOVE to be 138 by July 4.
Good luck to all!
Cheers-

I know I'm up this week but I'm not concerned, I'm due for TOTM tomorrow, and had a deficit of between 500-1000 every day, and one day it was actually 1400 as I played beach volleyball for 6 hours and couldn't get within 1000 of my 3500 burn! Yesterday I ate at maintenance to make up for it a bit so I think I also have some sodium water weight. I'm pretty sure it'll be off by next week if I can keep up the deficits and exercise, hopefully with a decent drop!
Hi All,
I'd like to join the roll-call, even if a little late. Stats are:
HW: 147
GW: 119
I guess that gives me a goal of 2 lbs per week until July 4th. Wow!
Good luck everyone.
I'm down to 157.5 - still a net increase of 1.5. Despite that, I'm down 1" on my hip measurements this week! I've been stuck at 40" forever - now I'm at 39". I even lost a little on my arms and thighs - and when I was out clothes shopping I could actually wear some medium tops just fine - some of the tops with sleeves were uncomfortable around the arms, but at least I could get them on!
I got in far more exercise than ever due to the nice weather - logged a bit over 4,000 calories in exercise this week via the heart rate monitor. It came to about 7 hours and 30 minutes of activity. I kept my deficit between 500-1000 most of the week except Sunday, where I went a bit over maintenance. It was a good week in regards to doing the right things, even if I didn't drop back to 156.
The downside: TTOM didn't materialize this week, despite all the indications it would - it should have hit Thursday or Friday. I'm a bit concerned on that; I may not be able to stick in this competition depending on the cause. I'm hoping it was just due to the freakish amount of exercise this week (I usually only log burns about 1,000-2,000). I may be a fretful mess this week - I'm going to try to cut my exercise down to only weight lifting and wait and see.
I can't really be too upset with this considering it is that time of the month and normally I go up 3 or 4 lbs. At least I didn't gain. It's a new week this week and I'm going to work extra hard to be good. Tonight instead of just going to my slow pitch softball game, I am taking a spinning class in addition to that. :)
