Is it possible to lose almost 20 lbs by June?! Someone say it's do-able!!!
sure its doable, but if you realy want to lose it forever, dropping 20 in 5-6 weeks is tough. Why not try to just drop 10, get strong by lifting some weights, toss in daily cardio and start eating healthy. you can drop 20 by staying under 1000 calories, working out like crazy and beating your body and mind down. you'll feel better losing the 10 and not feeling ill than you will starving yourself and losing more. this site is nice because it gives you tools and reasonable goals. use it, drop some pounds, feel good and stay healthy.
Well, I do all of that, but I eat no less than 1200 cals a day. I already lost 11 since March 1st...it's not coming off as quickly now. Grrrrrrrrrrr. Thanks for your advice! I'm going in incriments of ten, but my overall goal is to be 105 which is 19lbs away. Bikini season is coming and I don't know where my cute lil' body went!!
I'm with you on that! When I started this about a month and a half ago my goal date was about June 20th... I still have 25 lbs to lose!!! I'd be happy with at least 15-20 by then though... hopefully that's do-able! Instead of saying "Can I do it?"... just say "I CAN do it!" haha, that's what I keep telling myself anyway!![]()
Thank you! I'm trying to do this the healthiest way possible, but I feel like I have to starve myself to get there (not something I want to do). You're the best! WE CAN DO IT! ;)
I hope it's doable! i have 19 lbs to lose by June 14th, my birthday.
My theory is I can lose 8-10 lbs a month and I can reach my first goal in june.
I eat about 1300 calories, but I can say that I lose more weight when most of those 1300 calories are really healthy. I lost the most weight a couple of weeks ago when I started eating fruit for dinner. I guess all the water and fiber was really helping out and eating light later in the day. I ended up losing 3.5 lbs that week. I'm on vacation this week, so I haven't done that lately, but as soon as I get back I definitely will. I personally enjoy strawberries and fat free cool whip all the time!
Good luck!
Yeah I agree, I went to the store yesterday and bought a whole bunch of fruit and veggies.. so when I get hungry and I know I'm not "really" hungry.. I just snack on and apple or something. Oh, and I made fruit parfaits with plain yogurt, strawberries, bananas, and blackberries. I went ahead and made like 5 at once and put them in the fridge, so when I get hungry I won't snack on bad stuff, cuz they are already made!
Hey all. I'm new this calorie count, but I saw this post and just had to reply. I'm also trying to lose about 20 pounds before June so we're in the same boat. I really need to lose it, but I have no support around me. Half of the people I surround myself with keep telling me not to go on a diet and that I'm fine, but I'm overweight! I know if I lose the weight, I'll be healthy, but I don't have too much time because this June my family is throwing a HUGE family reunion and it's my first so I really want to be healthy going to it.
Hey...what do ya do if you don't like fruits and veggies?! lol. I'm so picky. Makes it hard to have a healthy diet when you only like one or two fruits and veggies. Augh. Why do I have to be so difficult! I guess I just need to force feed myself certain foods. You guys are the best tho, I think we can all learn so much from each other!
i'm really picky with my food too, but, honestly, i find what i like and i stick with it.
for fruit i love: oranges, bananas, grapes, and strawberries. so every sunday i buy seven oranges, seven bananas, a huge bunch of grapes, and two boxes of strawberries.
i'll definitely saw i eat more fruit than vegetables (probably because i've always liked sweet more than savoury) so i'll have an orange and a string cheese for protein and stuff like that. but whether you eat fruits or veggies, it's all really good healthy fiber and water.
just experiment and find out what you like best.
and to goingtolook great, i know how you feel! my friends and family tell me i'm fine, my husband says i'm beautiful, and even my friend the nutritionist says that i'm healthy.
but i'm not comfortable with myself, and i may be healthy enough but not as healthy as i want to be. so i'm doing this for myself. and i think being more than halfway to my goal by my birthday in june will be a great achievement.
good luck!
I hear ya! I will try some new things this weekend. My friends and family say I'm fine too, but I don't feel fine! I'm with you guys on wanting to feel and look as healthy as possible.
I posted a new questions, but I'll ask anyway. Does bloat start before you get your actual period or only when you get it?

For me I'm bloated a few days before and the first few days of my period, which sucks! I was the same way about veggies, I've always loved fruit(cuz it's sweet i guess) but I used to hate veggies... I would olny eat lettuce!! But once you experiment more, and eat things you never thought you would you might actually start liking them. I love bell peppers, onions, carrots, celery, potatoes... I still will not eat squash or mushrooms, and probably never will, yuck! If you like yogurt you could try mixing your fruit in there, it's really good, I eat that when I'm craving ice cream!
Ha! Yeah, I PMS from the day I ovulate until my period. Which means basically two weeks of bloating, the ladies on a rampage, and feeling exhausted. (I could honestly sleep ALL day, but I have 17 more pounds to go before my birthday, so I'm forcing myself to the gym 5 days a week) During the last week I'm constantly close to tears. I can gain up to 7 lbs of extra water weight, and so right now I'm hating the whole weekly weigh in, because there's only one week a month I can get an accurate reading on how much I've lost. I do weigh myself during these weeks and I know I'm doing well when I only gain a pound or two on the scale, because I know that's actually me losing weight, but having a lot of bloat along with it.
I'm hoping that losing weight will actually help me with all of these symptoms, because I'm not sure if they all got worse with age or weight. I long for the days of PMS the day before I started so I knew it was coming.
I am sooooooooooooo not weighing in this week! lol. I think my uterus is going to fall out. Sheesh. I feel like a train wreck when my baby maker is raising hell!
:(
When I'm no longer bloated I'll weigh in! hehe. I don't care if that's cheating!
