**10 lbs and less to lose - New Group!

Quote  |  Reply

I have looked through the forums and didn't see a current group with just ten pounds to go.  I am 5'3" 113 lbs with a GW of 103.  I am have a very small bone structure and have maintained at 103 for most of my life.  I struggled with depression and gained twenty pounds and now have just ten pounds left to lose.

Is there anyone here that would like to join me?  It seems like these last ten are the hardest as I have been able to get here but can't seem to move on.  I was thinking of a weekly weigh - in.  Maybe Friday (to not sweat it over the dreaded weekend) or Monday to keep us on track over the weekend.

I know there are others in the same boat as me and I think we can get there together!

Well I first hit my target a while back and have since decided to loose another
5 lbs. The problem that I have is that I just don't have the motivation to do it. Even though I really want to. I could not imagine being 103 lbs! I am 5' 3" as well and I enjoy my big' ol butt, so does my hubby.... I have always been thick (DNA) and I don't know of a single person in my family, other then my grandmother, that is thin. So looks like its just me and you, tell me about your self....

Oh, I do my weigh-ins on Sunday and post them on Monday when I get back into work. Is that ok?

I would love to join you, but I have a bit over 10 lbs to go.  I am 5'9'' and my starting weight back in April was 177.  This morning I was 151.6 and my goal is 140.  I have actually never been down this low in my adult life(im 23) so I may want to readjust my goal once I get down there.  I think I like Monday weigh ins a lot more than friday.  I always do better on the weekend so my numbers are usually lower on Monday!  haha!

I would also love to join.  I definitely need to get back on track.  In January/February I lost about 8 lbs and have been able to keep it off but would definitely like to lose these last 8 lbs or so.  I like Mondays as well - keeps me honest over the weekend!

I agree that these last few pounds are tough to lose and sometimes it is even more difficult to keep up the motivation!

Should we have our first weigh in on Monday, October 27th?

I would also love to join!!  I'm 5'6 - 138 lbs.  I was down in weight before my wedding in August but have since gained it back.  I'd like to be down to around 129-130.

First weigh in on Monday the 27th sounds great....will we post about what we eat and how much we exercise too?

Thanks for starting this group - I need the motivation :)

Great!  I am so glad that you guys want to join.  Ok, we will go with Monday weigh ins.  It does keep you more aware over the weekends.

I oversee fours bars and restaurants so I am always surrounded by food and drinks.  It is so easy just to grab food and not even remember eating it. I have decided to exercise on most days.  I bike and hike and jog.  I have decided to quit lifting weights until I reach my goal weight.  I know that might not be a good idea if it takes me a long time but I can't always find the time for both weight and cardio and I know that cardio burns the fat faster.

What are you guys doing to lose the weight?

Besides counting calories, i started running and lifting weights this summer.  Ive never been a runner or very athletic, so I started out not being able to do much...but by the end of summer I was able to run about 7 miles.  But now I've gotten much busier with school and my training went downhill...i am running about 3 miles every other day now and lifting when i can fit it in.  Luckily, with so little spare time, I sometimes forget to eat or just dont have the time...so calorie-wise I have been ok without even really thinking about it.  Im happy to know that I can maintain without working too hard, but I want to start losing again!!!

I have a problem with exercising - I don't like it at all!  However, I do enjoy walking and hiking.  I walk to work every morning (20 min), at lunch (20 min) and home (20 min) and am going to start doing my Shred DVD again by Jillian Michaels from Biggest Loser (AWESOME vid if you do it!).  I see people talking about how they are addicted to exercise and stuff but I just don't get it?!

I really need to keep track of my eating too...I can be great for days and then all of a sudden i'm off track again :(  Hoping this weigh in group will help me stay motivated - it worked before, so lets hope it does again!!

Good Luck everyone. Stay Positive

Hey guys, I just joined the site (after making my last and final binge - all I ate was terrible, fattening junk food) and I have about 10 more lbs to lose as well. (5"4' and 115 lbs. GW 105)

Not the best way to start the final stretch, xD.

As for the excercise, I walk a couple of hours a day, and am out in the sun for about an hour; considering I live in FL, it's like being in a sauna, lol. I lift dumbells a couple of times a week, and do some situps too.

Is it just me, or are the last 10 pounds the most difficult to lose?

Good luck to all!

hey everyone :) i'm in! 18 yrs old, petite frame, 5'3" and about 107 lbs. my gw is 105 lbs... these last pounds are hell.

I need to join this group.  I hit my GW in Feb. and began maintenance.  I don't like maintenance...I have lost my focus and gained 10 pounds.  When I was in the "losing mode",  my mind was on track all the time but since Feb., it's been a battle.  In May, I had a hysterectomy and I also have the "swelly belly" from that, too.  I don't feel good anymore even though it seems like all I think about now is food and trying to remember to keep on track.  I wish I could get that mindset back that I had a year ago when I was still losing.

Hello all! I would love to join your group. About a year ago I was down to around 107 (I am 5'3") and have slowly but surely packed on about 8 pounds through inactivity and a lot of snacking. I would ideally like to get back down to around 105...that puts me at exactly 10 pounds to go. I've really lost focus but have recently joined a gym and am trying to get into the classes they offer to get back on track.

Good luck to everyone!

I'm in!  Should we have a goal date to aim for where we have either reached our goal weight or have maintained it. Christmas? Thats about 9 weeks so it gives us plenty of time and room for the weeks that our weight doesn't move...

I Like it!!

Ha, I thought I only had 5 more pounds to go but now all these 5'3 people are saying they want to be 105 and my goal of 115 seems really high! I'm 5'2 and currently 120...wanted to be 115 but now am thinking 110 or lower. So I'll join you guys and try to lose the last few by Christmas. I'm actually hoping to be about 110 by Dec. 9 (vacation) but I don't know if I can get down 10 pounds that quickly.

I think that Christmas would be a great goal date for our group! That is plenty of time to lose the 10 pounds (or less) most of us are trying to get off.

giraffegirl - Remember to just do the best you can. You know your body more than anyone else so go at your own pace and lose what you feel comfortable losing! Good luck!

I'm in too! I have exactly 10 pounds to go. I'm at 125 right now. A few weeks ago I was at 122 but lost track while studying for midterms. Now I'm ready to get down to 115! I'm 5'6" and 20 years old. I do some sort of cardio 4-5 days a week. My main goal lately has been to eat better, which for me means cutting back on cereal! Christmas is a perfect goal for me and is great motivation to try and get through the Halloween candy season with minimal damage.

I think Christmas is a great goal date.  We can keep posting our results - especially when we get to our goals so we can be there at Christmas (and not starting over at New Years!).

Giraffegirl, I think your goal is perfect for you if it is your goal.  In my case I have a hard time adding or building muscle and tone (but no problem gaining fat).  I would love to have five or ten extra pounds of muscle.  Everyone one is different and we just want to be where we feel and look healthy.

The weekend is almost here!

Hi Everybody! Im in too! I have about 9-10 left to lose and this challenge will help me get through the holidays! Good Luck!Smile

Okay so, for the past two days I have been trying to diet - eat a lot less in order to get to my goal wait quicker....I've been doing well too, save for when I get home, I can't seem to stop  eating and then I consume a mass amount of high caloric food and I can't stop myself. (cookies, fries etc.)

I think this \may take longer than a couple of weeks.

Do any of you have any tips or suggestions?

Google123,

Maybe change your plan to eating a big breakfast, a medium lunch and a small dinner.  That way you won't feel deprived all day.  I have to get rid of the foods that tempt me later in the day.  It is also good to go for a walk or to a movie or anything to distract you from the habits you are trying to break.  Be patient!  You are just ten pounds away from your goal!  Even if you just lose one pound a week you will be at your goal weight right at New Year's and what a great way to start the new year.
