I really want to lose 24lbs by March! I would love to take a vacation and actually feel good in a bathing suit. I was in Hawaii for 2 weeks this year and really could not enjoy it because of not feeling comfortable. This year I have decided to take a stand and enjoy my summer! I am starting this forum to see if anyone else would like to lose weight with me. I feel like a group is the best way to go. I am really new to this site (2 weeks) and have already seen results with logging my food. Let me know if you are interested.
I am 5'5" and currently 154lbs. Goal 130lbs by March 2008
My goal is 126lbs by March 2008.
This topic brings up a past worth telling. I just graduated and I was at the beach two summers ago with my friends and I told them I wanted to loose weight. I was Obese (226 pounds) and I got to the stage I didn't want to look at myself. I thought I was disgusting. My goal was 25 pounds by the end of the summer. I changed everything, not diet, I cut all things sweet, soda, salt, red meat, most carb ( except whole grains), junk food, and I started going to the gym regularly.
By the end of the summer I weighed 199 pounds, by the time I came home for christmas after my first year of college, I weighed 180. By the next summer, One year later, I weighed about 167.
That is my current weight. I still have my 'lifestyle' I started the life change with. My next goal is to become define and become a rescue swimmer for the uscg.
Loosing weight changed my life.
I am 19 and my name is Christian List

I'd love to get from 155-->135 by March (also for a trip to Hawai'i) but since that's only 14 weeks away I'm not sure I can do it (It'd have to be more than 1 pound per week) but I"ll try!!
I'm in as well : ) if you don't mind a late ''sign up '' post/buddy :p
I'm a 21 years old college student, battling with study-for-the-finals vs gym time issues ;) My highest weight was 170ish, probably around 180 (at that point I didn't want to look at the scale anymore...) I was 163 when I started on CC, I'm now 143, and would like to reach 130 by march-april. I would LOVE wear a bikini this summer...for once in my lifetime!! ;) And I would like to shop for a bathing suit without feeling like I'm the only overweight person in the store. :/
I've recently hit a plateau, and my weight has been juggling between 142-147 lbs. I recently tried to eat more calories (was eating 1,200 cals). Hopefuly, I'm now down to 143 again... And will never eat so few calories ^^ However, I would like to specify I wasn't hungry at the end of these 1,200 cals days, and the only thing that has change is that I now cook with olive oil while I was cooking with water before.

Wouldn't it be fantastic to feel good in a bathing suit. In fact, I haven't been seen in public in a bathing suit for probably 7 years!
I am 5'6", current weight 137 and want to lose 10 pounds before February 1, 2008.
Any day for weigh in is fine for me!

wow thats inspirational
what i was wondering is how did you manage to cut out all those bad foods, when i try to i end up having huge cravings for them
for example, like a year ago i liked peanut butter i would have it once in a while and it was good because 1 jar lasted like a few months, ever since i found out it has so many fats and calories i decided to try to eat very little if any at all
i though since it wasnt such a staple b4 why should it bother me to not eat it, now i love peanut butter just all of a sudden i cant have it in my house or ill binge
how did you stop those food urges ( i have tryed all those 'drink a glass of water' or 'chew gum' ways they work for a little while but then it just gets old)
Why not go with the "a little of something never hurts" ? Well, that is what I do.
I do have a peanut butter jar, but it is in the breakfast cupboard, and I only buy one per season (no more peanut butter in the jar, well, no more peanut butter at all...until next season!). I also keep already cut veggies in the fridge, if I ever badly want to eat something that does not fit within my cal intake. Sometimes I also eat less at lunch, to have some cals left for a little treat I know I'll want in the evening. Usualy on sundays (wake up late...eat breakfast late...and thus, lunch late. It is then easier to eat little at lunch and keep cals for dinner, and after).
Monday's are good with me if it is fine with everyone else (it will definatly make me think about what I am eating over the weekend
). Our first offical weigh in will be next Monday December 3rd. What a wonderful response, I have added a few more people to the list; please let me know if I have missed anyone. Welcome and Good luck this week!
