125 lbs less of me. 22% body fat!!! Lean and athletic
I started CC a little over one year ago when I weighed 274 lbs. I am now 148 lbs was measured using a bodpod as having a body fat percentage of 22%. I also was tested on a treadmill and I was considered highly fit and athletic. This is amazing for me who was a sedentary person with a BMi of over 50 a year ago. My BMI is still slightly "overweigh", but with this body fat percentage, I am considered very lean.
I just wanted to let everyone know that if I can do it, so can you. This site is amazing and now I am maintaining my weight for the first time in my life. I had never reached a weight loss goal before. I am going to be 53 next week and have been severely obese all my life until this year. Keep it up and remember, you can do this.
My current goal is to maintain this weight between a 5 lb spread for this coming year. Wish me luck.

It's good to know that women of a "certain age" can achieve so much! Please keep us posted on your maintenance, etc.
Wow!!!!!!! And I thought I was doing ok losing 50 in a year! Isn't it wonderful to be 50 something (for me 56) and be in better shape than most ppl half our age!

It's wonderful to see all the success stories on this site-from real people. I am 46 closer to 47 and still struggling. Now with age things are slower so it is wonderful to read and see your success.

Can you share with us what you think the three main steps were in helping you lose this weight? And what was your motivation? I mean at 53 you have had ample time sooner to lose the weight. So why now?
