I'm in! I'm noticing i'm much younger than most trying to lose, but i'm still in the same boat! lets hope we don't sink! =) good luck to you al

Starting Date: 9/12/07

Starting weight: 190

Goal weight: 130

alaska beauty- You might be young (I can barely remember 16!) but I wish I'd started taking better care of my health when I was your age, before it got away from me a bit.  PLEASE don't rush to lose those pounds!  Lose them slowly and safely.  I don't mean to give you a "mom" lecture but people your age who diet are more prone to developing eating disorders.  Not saying you don't need to lose some weight but take your time and do it safely.  We'll help you get there!
Hey AlaskaBeauty - you sound beautiful - listen to Kthompson....be healthy now. When I was your age I was eating like 4 saltines and a snapple per day (please never ever ever do that!!!!!!!)  and I regret that part of my life all the time.... so much of my high school days wasted on a stupid Kate Moss wannabe diet. I still get the urge to just get rid of whatever I ate everyday. You never get over it. I wish I was like you and had a healthy outlet like CC. This site might have helped me when I was younger I don't know....I just started rambling and lost sight of anything useful I was going to say to you. I should probaly delete this and not post it but WTF I'm posting it. I think I needed to just ramble a moment to someone. It feels good. I'm sorry and I hope I don't offend anyone.
Alaska Beauty-

Hey, I'm only a few years older than you... and a lil bit heavier! Last weigh in I was at 194, and my goal is the same 130!

We're all in this together- but it's nice having some people are the same age/situation for extra motivation.

Good luck girlie! :-) We all can do it, no problem...

I'm sorry, I assumed you were 22 by the number in your name, my apologies! But still, it's less than a decade of distance, haha!

I have more than 60 to lose... but I need a group.  Will you let me in? :)

I'm 33, 5'8", I started out at 277 and I'm currently 271... 2 weeks into my new lifestyle change!

I belong(ed) to a board during my pregnancy 2 yrs ago and it was a wonderful experience.  I love my girls there, but my focus is different now and I need to be with people that are going through THIS experience too.  Looking forward to having a new place to "belong".

Keri
I'm not in charge of this club, but I'm sure you will be "allowed" in! :-) Welcome and good luck... we're all here for you whenever you do or don't need us....
Hey Keri.....Welcome to the group!
Hi to the new folks!!  Boombabies is the originator and recaps our progress on Fridays.  I bet there is room for more folks!  I'm looking forward to the day I'm participating in the "getting off those last 10 pounds club"   LOL  but enjoying the journey.
Hi,

My name is serenity

CW: 195lbs

GW: 145

I've set an aggressive workout goal 4-5 times a week. I usually do well for a while and then get complascent. I should have been at my GW by now but I keep falling off the bandwagon. I had a look through my old journals (back when I used to keep them on paper) and realized that I'd been promising myself that I would lose weight for the last 3.5 years. I've made a committment to lose at least 30lbs by the end of this year. The groups are great, having some one to check in with definatley means that I can be more accountable and therefore more motivated.
Welcome all new people! This week has been very bad as far as eating. Its not too much overeating, but rather not eating as frequent as better foods. I still have not gotten in the habit of eating breakfast and I know that it is crucial to eat breakfast to speed up the metabolism and help in my weight loss. I also have been forgetting to put my food into calorie count. I have to make it a priority to do these two important things, as well as exercise.

What's the excuse? Nothing. I just have to remind myself and get in the habit. Right now, my habits include eating a large dinner, not portioning my food, not eating breakfast, and not putting in my food into calorie count. I have to change these poor habits in the next week. I will let you guys know how everything is going. I find writing my habits and letting other people know about them makes me want to change them more. What are your bad habits that you still find yourself doing even when you are trying to lose weight. Lets get rid of these bad habits so we can start losing weight!
i'm in, because i really really need to join an active group!

i'm 5'10 and was 250

currently: 205

losing 60 would put me at 145, which is a little bit more than what i would like, but i still need to lose a big number so i think this group will fit me anyways! oh, and i love friday weigh ins. they're the best!

Wow! This group is growing fast. Wish I new about it earlier...Surprised

My starting wieght was 265. Current weight 223. I met my goal and lost a little over 40 lbs in about 3 months (weight log posted in my journal with encouragement to all). I would like to lose 15 to 20 more which puts me near the 60 lb club.

Goal Weight: 205, but I would be very satisfied if I plateau'd at 210 by my anniversary, Dec. 31.

Its Thursday and this is where the slide usually begins. By this time of the week I feel too tired to make or pack a healthy dinner or go to the gym or do much of anything in particular. I think that I end up undoing all the hard work I did in the first half of the week. This is when I really start to crave junk food.  This morning I really really wanted bacon and eggs on a bagel with a cup of very creamy very sweet coffee for breakfast but I was late for work so I couldn't indulge. I've also made the switch to weekly weigh ins to encourage me to do well the whole week. Is anyone else struggling with this.
Hey everyone. :) I'm 16 years old and weigh 99lbs. I was hoping to lose 9 to be at 90 instead. Do you think this is okay? I don't think I'll go with the 60lbs loss though...me at 39lbs...nup, definately a six feet under weight.
Speaking of weekly weigh-ins...tomorrow (Friday) is the day.  Uh oh.  I predict I'll be the same weight.  I've had a bit too much wine this week on top of my daily calories.

I've learned through CC that when you move digital scales around you have to reset them (just by getting on them or stepping on them to reset back to zero).  I've put the idea to the test and it is true (at least with my digital).  So the moral for me is weight once a week but do it 3 times in succession.

Serenity, I don't struggle with burnout by the end of the week (at least not yet) but I have struggled with weighing compulsively so had to "hide" my scales til Friday.

Looks like we've gotten several new folks in the last few days.  Hooray.  Hope we all have a plan, stick to it and drop the pounds to a healthier lifestyle.

sraphael

how tall are you?

unless you are under 5 feet tall you are already almost underweight. (and this is a VERY small margin, only 2 or 3 pounds.)

I'm going to be the same weight tomorrow....last night had some yummy mashed potatoes and stuffing (yes I skipped the turkey and went straight for the good stuff!) and had way to much wine this week....Oh well I'll behave tonight.
LOL.  We have all day and night to do it right.  :)

I guess that means that I better get off the board and walk, walk, walk.

I'll be weighing in early (I hope) as I'm planning to go up north and visit my Dad.  10 hour drive.  I originally planned to leave today but decided Friday is better.  That way I can stay there Sunday and watch the Steelers game with him.

I LOVE stuffing.  I plan to lose "a turkey" by Christmas and eat a little.  :)
Hey, sorry I was out of touch this week- computer down, anyway you guys have made great use of this thread- please remember it's everyone's (I am not the leader :)  What I mean is this group is here not to as one of our members said about another, to make you feel like "crap", or at least I hope not- it's here to serve whatever purpose you need it to-- for you...  & I hope we can all feel a little better about ourselves as time goes forward.  I'm really proud of everyone :)  I weighed myself this am-- I am at 179 lbs.- same as last week- aargh.  I am not going to get too discouraged though.  I didn't gain any & I have a cold so I haven't exercised as much as I would like, I hope all of you have made some progress, so next..........
Good morning everyone.  I was at 189 last Friday.  Today I am at 185, down four pounds!  Just knowing I had to weigh in today kept me from overeating even the good for you foods.  I am enjoying being a member of this thread.  Thanks to all!
