170.4 on 2/29
165.0 on 3/7
166.4 on 3/14
168.2 on 3/21
165.8 today
I am almost back to where I was 3 weeks ago.
Sorry so late checking in (#5) - started my new job last week then had a rough Friday ... and a SUPER STORMY power on-and-off weekend.
Wooo, fun.
Plus I gained 2 pounds. ( 202.2 this am) Probably not really, but I'm puffy and icky feeling and was hoping by this morning I could have been down a little bit, but I'm not.
So, water water water water for me today. My poor boss is going to think she hired someone with a medical urinary disorder!
#6 here, I totally missed weigh-in, but I have an excuse, I've been sick sick sick. I spent about a week and a half mostly in bed, just totally drained of all energy. So no exercise for me (heck, I got dizzy folding a load of laundry!). I did play volleyball last night for the first time in about 2-3 weeks, and it totally kicked my butt! I was so exhausted and it wasn't even a really competitive game! I'm trying to build up my exercise again this week, and get rid of this lingering cough.
On the plus side, I was able to stick with the calorie counting pretty much, and I'm down to 171.5 today (32lbs down!). I'm thinking maybe, just maybe, I'll see the 160's next week? I'll keep my fingers crossed! And my body moving!
I'm sooooo glad it's getting warmer outside and lighter later. It's going to make it so much easier to get outside and be more active (plus my poor doggie really needs the exercise too, another reason to get off my butt!) We can do this guys, let's let summer reinvigorate our weight loss efforts!!! :)
Yesterday was Friday and NOBODY weighed in? (I forgot the day...) Maybe it's time to close this thread and start afresh with some new blood in a new thread???
I raised my activity level and calorie allowance last week and I had a BUMPER week!
Last week (March 28) - 224.2
This week (April 4) - 220.4 (no, this is NOT a typo!)
This week's Loss - 3.8 pounds. (the last two weeks before I only lost 0.4 pounds each.)
Total loss so far, a hair under 45 pounds.
I'm down a half pound to 171.0 today!! Sooooo close to the 160's! That'll be one helluva happy day!
#5 weighing in - late but I'm glad I came because kajikit and joelle are such an inspiration after my disappointing two weeks.
Another gain, but I got news this weekend that has given me TWO very specific short-term goals. I'm hoping that will help me focus.
Oops it has been a whole month since I last posted....sorry. I don't have a major loss to report but it is a loss.
Mar. 7th- 155.8
Apr. 7th- 154.4
This has been my worst month with weight loss, but my best month with personal body image. I feel great and the loss of almost 35 lbs. is obviously showing. I received so many compliments at church yesterday they had me blushing. It is a long journey but oh so worth it!!
A big high-five to us four who are still hanging in (and congrats to you who had losses!!) Friday must have been crazy busy, but better late than never.
I hear ya 4square, this month wasn't a great weight loss month for me (December was definitely my worst), but it has been great for my body image.
I fully intend to make great use of the warmer weather that's finally starting to show itself in my neck of the woods. I have big plans for biking, running 5k's, and busting out my old dusty rollerblades at least a couple times this summer! Since this is the first time I've ever been successful at losing weight in the winter, I'm really excited to see what I can accomplish this summer.
Have you guys made any specific goals for the summer?
My goal this summer is similar to yours Joellejello...I managed to stay with the diet all winter for the first time in my life and now I am excited to do it this summer. Today I celebrate 6 months!! I am already losin' more from an 11 mile walk yesterday!! I want to walk that much more often, and maybe get the bike out. I want this summer to be a really hot one so I can sweat this weight away!!
awwww, betsy, now I want a bike!! I think it would be so much more fun than just walking, y'know ... also, I'd feel better about going further and seeing more sights.
4square, you walked ELEVEN MILES??? that's amazing! see, I could bike that, maybe, but I don't know if I could ever walk that far.
perhaps the few of us who are left here (me, betsy, 4square, kajikit, and joelle) should start a little group to report our exercise ... I think the warmer weather could be the key for all of us!
Eleven miles! OMG! I went for (literally) the longest deliberate walk I've done on the weekend - I mapped out a five-mile route in my neighbourhood and it took me the best part of two hours to do it. I couldn't even imagine doubling it!
I got a kick the other day though... I was thinking 'I'd like to try to work up to doing an official 5k walking event... but I had my conversion wrong - I passed 5km on a regular basis over a month ago because it's only 3 miles! I'm nearly up to TEN! (5km = 3.2 miles, 10km = 6.4 miles). I wouldn't be the fastest person on the track (I walk pretty slowly...), but I'd have no worries whatsoever finishing the course!
Kajikit, thanks for the conversions...I had been thinking about that too.
Stellajo, I like the idea of us supporting and reporting our exercise because I NEED TO DO SOMETHING! Ugh! I really need to change it up! One of my issues is I get excited when someone says they want to exercise together. The problem is they usually want to walk for 15-30 minutes. Sigh. On the one hand I am thankful because it is at least something, but on the other hand, when you have as much weight to lose as I do, that just isn't going to cut it! Well, I have my bike ready and I know where the helmet is. I also talked to my husband about helping me tote the Gazelle upstairs in front of the tv. I have got to do something so my weight maintenance turns into weight loss. I realy, really, REALLY want to be in the 100's! Not 224.4 like the scale said today!!! EEEK!
Will you ladies please hold me really accountable? You four are pretty serious with calories and exercise - I need this kind of accountability to help me get back to the mentally right place!
Betsy, I do two things to help keep myself accountable for my exercise - actually three. 1)I sign up for the Exercise Challenge on this site every month, and if I didn't have a problem making last month's target, I move up a notch and try for more. I track my exercise time with a counter from tickercentral and add my exercise time as soon as I finish it. It doesn't matter how many minutes anyone else exercises - it only matters if I'm achieving MY goal.
2)I log ALL my walks and any other form of exercise I do on the website 'mapmywalk.com' as soon as I get home. It's a really neat site - it gives you a map and you plot out your route and it tells you exactly how fast you were going etc... it's very encouraging to see the numbers adding up each week! It's also very exciting to see the overall mileage climbing on my walking shoes, because the site automatically tracks it for you!
And lastly, I try to go for a walk every day, or at least 5-6 days a week. I also walk to do a lot of my errands that I used to save up for the weekends so John would drive me. I'm sure he appreciates only having to go to the grocery store on Saturday instead of having to run to the postoffice, the mall, Kmart, the library etc! It gives me a real purpose for my walks and makes them feel like I'm doing something worthwhile... not to mention how much gas money I'm saving with the ever-climbing price of fuel!
It also helps to make sure that I get in at least a minimum amount of mileage - if I don't walk to the petfood store for gooshyfood, the girls would let me know about it, and if I didn't walk to the library and take the books back when they're due, we'd get a fine, etc.
awesome!
I'll be checking out mapmywalk as soon as I get home this afternoon!
Well, for me, even if it just us five, we can keep coming here or we can work out some other way, but I definitely don't want to give up or give in !
Whatever you ladies decide, I'm in.
I'm with you Betsy, I was SOOO close to being under 200 when I let it slip away from me.
100s HERE I COME!
I just went for a bike ride. I used mapmyride.com to figure it out and it was 2.04 miles in 17 minutes. Cool! Not a lot, but my rump needs to get used to the pointy, hard seat. Don't have the cash for a cooshy seat! That is okay. I will do some other form of exercise today too. :o)
Let's do this together! I will start an exercise ticker today. :o)
Sweet! I could use the exercise accoutability too, I've really been slacking lately (OK, so I was sick, but I'm pretty much better, what's my excuse now?). I walked a mile on both of my breaks today at work, that's a start!
My daily food goals are: -1900 calories -28 grams fiber -3 cups veggies -2cups fruit -5.5 ounces meat/fish/beans -3 cups dairy (1 oz. cheese counts as 1 cup - go figure!) -100 ounces water
My exercise goal is 45 miutes, six days a week
I hope I can do it! That was really doable before (the exercise), but now seems overwhelming. Just have to remember I can split it up...doesn't have to be done all at one time.
I made a chart for myself so I can write in when I eat something toward my goal or drink something toward my goal or exercise toward my goal. I really want to get into the 100's! Let's do this together friends. :o)
My super short term goals are to get back into the swing of walking at work (I try to do a mile on both my morning and afternoon breaks), and to get on the treadmill this weekend, and see if my lungs can handle running yet, or if they are still too congested. I'm REALLY tired of this never-going-away sickness/chest cold/whatever it is. I just don't feel 'normal' right now. :(
