***50-70 lbs. to Lose Club!***
Hey everyone! I decided to make a group for those who need to lose anywhere from 50 to 70 lbs. I think if we do weigh-ins once a week (whatever day works for each person), we can all keep each other motivated. It is possible for most people who join this group to lose mostly all of the extra weight by the end of 2008! We can all use tomorrow as our first weigh-in. Who's with me
?!

Man, I just went back and looked when I started in this challenge. It was June 17th. That's exactly 13 weeks from today! Boy it would be nice to hit goal by the anniversary of starting! It's definitely doable at about 1 1/2 lbs./wk. I'm the MOH in my sister's wedding on 6/26, so that would be soooo sweet!! It's ok if I don't, but I do love to push myself to reach goals, so here's to June 17th!!!
Have a great week!

Not sure if this is still an active thread. Hope it is.

Last 3 weeks I have fluctuated between 258 / 258.6 / 258.4 and am about to go crazy... I am pulling out all the guns to try and beat this what may be a plateau. Any push is greatly appreciated.

Hey Pete,
Way to go you've already lost over 60 lbs. Here's a couple of ideas that might help you get past your current plateau. I assume that you have been exercises. Try changing up your work out. If you have been on the treadmill go the the elptical. If you've been lifting weights try different lifts. Use dumb bells instead machines for example. I go to a gym and am always picking up new exercises by watching others, or you can get new ideas by watching the fitness shows. I'm far from an expert but I have read that by changing up an excercise routine you are actually retraining a muscle group which requires more effort which helps to burn more calories. Hope this helps and good luck to you.

Thanks Paul,
Now that I have over 60 I qualify to join the 50 to 70 club... lol... Within the last week I switched from a full body workout to a split 2 day workout. Torso 1x & legs/arms 1x & then off day. I was also doing ellip 30 min so now I added treadmil 30 min as well.
Today I have upped my cals to 1800cals. We'll see how all these changes go...
As for the new exercies I agree. I do the same at the gym, I am always looking at people lifting see if I can learn any new excersizes or techniques.
Again thanks to all and about.com.

How can I make walking fun?
You have to find a way to make exercise fun or else you won't do it. If you walk indoors on a treadmill, I recommend moving outdoors into the fresh air... Read more
