How many lbs can I lose in 17 days?
My boyfriend is coming to visit me (he lives 4 hours away so I don't see him all the time), and I want to drop some serious weight. My overall weight loss is 25 lbs. Right now I am 5'6" and 169 lbs, which is overweight according to BMI standards. I have been working out 3-4 times a week, including weights and crunches, and I have been eating healthier, trying to include veggies whenever I can, but the weight just isn't coming off. Do you guys have any tips for me? How much can I lose in 17 days?
Thanks
I don't know for sure how much you can lose in 17 days, but you can certainly find out. I know I hit my plateau at 165 and I just wasn't losing weight. Did you calculate how many calories you should consume per day according to your lifestyle? You need to consume less than you burn. As far as weight lifting goes, try doing resistance exercises before cardio. This helps your metabolism work better to burn fat. I would also focus on more resistance exercises, because unlike cardio which practically shuts off your metabolism as soon as it's done, resistance will keep it going for up to six hours after your workout, because the calories your body needs in order to repair muscle are being used toward that instead of being stored as fat. Another thing you can do is combine protein with complex carbs, because they also help the metabolism work quicker and better when combined. For instance, grill chicken and eat it on a whole wheat wrap. It will do wonders for your metabolism. Also, depending on your schedule, try working out twice a day to get your metabolism going more. I wake up in the morning and go to the gym, then run my errands, and after dinner, go for a three-mile run. Also, make sure the vegetables you are eating don't retain water, like celery. Dieting is very basic, you cut down your food intake until you start noticing a difference, and exercise on a daily basis. If you still aren't losing weight, I would suggest to just keep cutting down until you get to where you want to be.
It says I burn 2460 cals a day, and I know I am not consuming that much. I have been getting up early to workout in the mornings, and when I can't do that, I workout in the early evenings. I will start to cut down my cals more, but what are some examples of resistance exercises? I do know about doing weights first, thank goodness, because before I was doing them after my cardio, which was probably defeating the purpose.
Cut off your right arm. Seriously, losing weight is not a speed sport, and engaging in trying will result in more weight, more health issues. If your boyfriend doesn't love you because you are 25 lbs. overweight, then lose 200 lbs of boyfriend.
I found this site which is pretty cool. You enter your hieght, weight, age, lifestyle (as in sedentary or whatever you may be) and calories you expect to consume per day and it gives you a guestimate of the weight you'll lose. Of course there are alot of factors that play into weight loss, so it's not going to dead on. I dont ever expect to actually lose what it says but it's fun to look at!

That is so much fun to play with!
EDIT: Even if I know it's not exact or anything, talk about motivating!
I love it, what a difference when you up your exercise and drop a few cals. I'm going back!
I've lost 19lbs in 15 days, running 2 miles a day and eatting 1000 calories, diet high in fish, lettuce, and fruits
Because that is healthy!
