>>60-80lbs to Lose Group!<< (a.k.a "Open Group - 60-80lbs to Lose!")

Quote  |  Reply

I have 80lbs to lose until I reach my goal weight. Does anyone else have around 80lbs to lose? If so, post your stats and we can lose the weight together!

Here are my stats:

  • SW (Starting Weight): 194lbs
    CW (Current Weight): 185lbs
    GW (Goal Weight): 104-105lbs
  • Height: 5' 1"
  • Sex: Female
  • Age: 18

We're all here to support each other. So, whether you're having a great day or a horrible day, feel free to talk about it here. Post your weight updates whenever you feel comfortable doing so. There is only one rule here: Be kind. Let's not bring each other down.

Good luck!

Edit (July 11, 2008): The group is now open for those hoping to lose 60-80lbs.

Edit (August 2, 2008): Please include how much weight you've lost since joining the group (when you post updates on your weight). I think it'll be good to keep track of this. =)

tazzie23 - We're all glad that we can support you through this! I wish you the best of luck on your journey. Just keep in mind that losing 20lbs in less than a month is extremely difficult (and somewhat unrealistic). In any case, I'm sure you'll walk into that wedding looking great! =)

Quote of the day: (It isn't really "inspirational", but I still like it.)

"I believe in giving rewards and positive reinforcement for a job well done, but can we raise ourselves a little higher than the dogs and give rewards that have longer-term benefits? How can a poor food choice be a true reward anyway?" -Jill Johnson

Have a great weekend!

Happy Monday everyone!

I got a new scale and it says a weight that is 6lbs greater than my old one. -_-"

I know I didn't gain 6lbs because I checked my old scale.

This is awesome...

Needless to say, I'm not having a very good day... Still, I prefer my new scale because it's digital. How's everyone else?

  • Im still up on my scale by 3lbs. I know its sodium, its just annoying. Im trying to figure out how to kick the sodium down and keep it down all the time.

I dont eat processed foods, I make everything homemade, for example I made homemade fried rice last night with a side of homemade chowmein. Because you add chicken bouillon and soy sauce to it the sodium is sky high. UGH!!! Back to the low sodium products.

It really sucks how sensitive I am to sodium. It doesnt affect my hubby half as much as it affects me. Then it always takes me 7-10days to get rid of it. LOL.

    So how is everyone doing?

infinteheart, are you still keeping both scales. It would be nice to keep wighing on both for few weeks and see whther the difference keeps at 6 pound!

leilei03 - Welcome to the site and the group! Make sure to weigh in whenever you can! =) I wish you the best of luck.

kristine - You don't eat any processed foods? Whoa. I wish I had the patience to make all my food, lol.

momofjj - I hope you get into the 190s soon! Oh, I'm keeping both scales for a while. I definitely want to see if there's a 6lb difference each time I weigh in.

I'm so sick of being in the 170s. I'm sick of being fat. Period. I started working out yesterday in the hopes that I can start losing weight a little faster.

I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

Hello again everyone!  My sister is getting married in Sept. so I'm trying to lose about 20lbs before the wedding. I started on July 16th at 242lbs.  My short term goal is 220lbs by the 13th of Sept. for my sister's wedding.  So as of today, I have 7.6lbs to go to reach my short term goal weight and 62.6lbs to go to reach my long term goal weight.

    Height: 5'8"ish

    LTGW: 165 (by 5/28/09)

    Total Weight Loss: 14.4lbs

tazzie - Only 7.6lbs to go! You can definitely do it! Congratulations on losing 14.4lbs so far. =D

    Here's a great quote I found:

"The difference between try and triumph is just a little umph!" --Marvin Phillips

It just takes a little work to reach your goal. =) We can do this!

So I haven't posted in a while. Here are my current stats

    SW: 217-222 range

    CW: 195.5

    Height: 5'6

    Age 21

doing good over here. TAking it off slowly. They closed the gym at my school til classes start (next week). After that it will be coming off faster again as I walk around campus and start swimming again. I'm just glad that I'm in the 100's. My goal is < or = 150

berly - Congratulations! Getting to the 100s is a serious accomplishment. =)

Anyhow, I found this great site that provides some tips to help boost your metabolism. >>Click Here<<

The bad news: I've become obsessed with my new scale. I used to weigh myself once a week, but, I now weigh myself at least once a day... I definitely need to stop that.

The good news: I started exercising! I'm trying some interval training + strength training. Hopefully, I'll lose weight a little faster.

    I hope everyone's doing well!

Happy day! I've been doing alright with everything, except last weekend there was a distinctive 3500 calorie day, and a 2000 cal day due to family stuff. Anyways...

I feel happy happy. I promised myself I'd get a manicure every 5 pounds, but I think I may change it to 10 pounds cause my money is non-existent at the moment. lol

Things are great here. Most of my water weight has subsided.

I have been weighing myself everyday for the past week and decided enough is enough. I have made a pact with myself that I will weigh-in only once every month. Yup thats right, once a month. For a while anyway. I think it should work out great since I cant control my sodium enough to have it even everyday. Strange. Oh well the monthly weigh-in should help with that since I will see the trend over a month.

My baby started kindergarten yesterday. She was so excited. I was too. Then it happened. As I was leaving I almost teared up and felt this "hole" in my heart. I got it together, but it was hard leaving her. Not as hard as most moms. I believe it was a little easier for me since I took her to day care when I worked. Anyway.

It will get better. I have another one thats the real baby but she is only 1 1/2 so we have a while. LOL

    Here's an update!

So as of today, I have 5.6lbs to go to reach my short term goal weight and 60.6lbs to go to reach my long term goal weight.

I'm a very competitive person and losing weight has become like a sport to me, and I want to WIN!  :)  Thanks to all for their support.

I'm back from my vacation! I'm going to weigh in tomorrow.

kristine - How's your little girl? Is she enjoying kindergarten? I hope so! Anyhow, I can't believe you're only weighing yourself once a month! I certainly couldn't do it. Good luck!

tazzie- 5.6lbs? Awesome! Maybe I should start setting up short term goal weights... Hmm...

    I hope you're all doing well. =)

I got down another .5 pound despite that all this week has been major ups and minimal downs due to my monthly cycle (which is only supposed to come every 3 months... so much for seasonale working right).

And Tazzie I totally understand the competitive thing with weight loss. I'm at a battle with my scale... lol.  I weigh and log it everyday because seeing the graph going down, despite some days when my weight goes up a bit makes me feel like I'm winning.

I've also started the couch to 5k again.  Last year it worked for me, then I got sidetracked on running through the winter... This time my asthma is worse so I'm going to probably plan to take double the usual number of weeks for it to let my lungs catch up, but I feel so happy and energized after each run!

lala - Congratulations on the weight loss this week! Just a question - is "Seasonale" affecting your weight loss at all? I'm thinking about possibly taking it myself.

Anyhow, I'm down to 170 this week! Something is finally working. Exercise + calorie cycling = success (for me)!

I hope you're all doing well!

Hey guys! Is it alright if I join the group too?

    • SW: 189
    • CW: 185
    • GW: 120 - 125
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Sex: Female
    • Age: 16

I check my weight about once every month at the end of the month. The less frequent weigh-ins make me feel like I've accomplished more than if I did it on a weekly basis.

melody_anne - Welcome to the group! Good luck on the monthly weigh ins! Is today your first day back at school? If it is, I hope it went well!

I have a question for all of you:

What are your goals for September? They don't need to be weight loss related. I'm just curious.

    Here are mine:

    • Lose 5-10lbs
    • Lift weights 3 times a week
    • Start taking dance class!
    • Manage time a little better
    • Make an effort to socialize

I would like to join! I just started CC last week and am trying really hard to get in shape:)

SW: 220 (ish) not exactly sure of this, I stay away from scales!

    CW: same

    GW: 150ish (for now)

    Female, age: 22, height: 5'9

I realized, after all my years of yo-yo dieting and failed attempts that I need to really stick to something for my health. It was solely cosmetic before, but now I'm sticking to a plan so I can be as healthy as I should be at 22. I'm eating around 1000-1500 cals a day (depending on how busy I am). I try to stay around 1400, but lately I have just been getting really full a lot faster than usual and have been trying to find extra food to fill in my extra cals for the day. I've exercised everyday this past week, except one. I usually go for a 30-60 minute powerwalk and try to add in bits of jogging, and I also did a 20-minute pilates video when I decided against a walk. The video, although short, left me soooo sore (in a good way though) :) I'm not forseeing myself getting weighed until the end of Sept. when I go to the doctors, but for now, I'm going to work hard to get a good weigh-in by then! I'll check in before then to let you know my progress!!

You have to find a way to make exercise fun or else you won't do it. If you walk indoors on a treadmill, I recommend moving outdoors into the fresh air... Read more
