sarshy85 - Welcome to CC and the group! It looks like you're working hard to reach your goal. Congratulations! If you need some extra calories, try nuts or peanut butter. Small volume of food, plenty of (pretty healthy) calories. =)
jennisonamission - I'm sorry I didn't acknowledge you earlier -- we must have posted at the same time! Anyhow, welcome to the group! Congratulations on losing all that weight! Thanks for the warm welcome- both to myself and to everyone else in here!
My "official" weigh-ins are usually Monday or Tuesday. Every now and then I'll do another at a different point during the week if I just can't wait.. but usually I try to limit it to once a week so I don't make myself too crazy. :)
I had lost 3.5lbs in the first few weeks after joining, then I went on vacation for a week and gained them all back, and now I've lost 5.5lbs in the 2 weeks since I've been back. Hoping to continue that trend!
infiniteheart- I actually don't start school till next Monday, but I appreciate the kindness so thanks. :D The monthly weigh in didn't go so well. I only lost one pound, but its okay at leats it is one pound closer to my goal so hurray! I haven't thought about my goals for September, but actually do have a few
- Start school strong and get my first assignment in early.
- lose 8-10 pounds.
- try to be more active.
- Get a part time job.
- Start a yoga class.

Hey ttatwork we are ,almost on the same stats.
I am now at 210, 5.5 ,f,29 yrs.
I workas a computer programmer, so wholde ay i sit at my desk.but at home i have a 2.5 year old and a 11 month old and am pretty active for the rest of the day.
I had restricted my claories to aorund 1800 and i did not lose any wieght for more than 2 weeks.
so from yesterday onwards i have increased my calories to 2-2300.
I wasa not sure whether the burn meter was showing me correctly.
as per burn meter, i burn around 3000-3500 calories daily.
Giving it a shoit by upping my calories.
any advice anyone?
I am feeling a little sad y it is not coming down.I am eagerly looking forwad to getting down to less than 200.
I am size 1x now and want to be down to atleast an xl by wionter.so that i can buy a nice leather jacket for myself.
Any opinions, advices are welcome!
ttatwork - Congratulations on your weight loss so far! Welcome to the group. =) If you're looking for fitness tips, nutrition advice and/or motivational quotes, just look through the last few pages -- I've been trying to post as many as I can.
momofjj - Have you tried calorie cycling? I was at a plateau for almost a month before I tried it. Lo and behold, it worked! Of course, I also introduced weight training + cardio + interval training to my routine. I hope this helps!
melody_anne - Those are some admirable goals. =) Also, you may have only lost 1lb, but it's 1lb in the right direction. You should definitely lose weight much more quickly once you start yoga class.
iamacommitmentto - 5.5lbs in 2 weeks is fantastic! If only we could all lose weight that quickly, lol. =)
Anyhow, I hope you're all doing well. I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with weight tickers, but if you want one, here's a link to a site in which you can make/customize your own. Scroll down to the weight loss/fitness section. Hopefully, you can use it to keep track of all your success. =)
Hey infiniteheart, thanks for the ticker link.
I havent tried calorie cycling. How do u do that?
I have just upped my calories, and i dont do any weight training.I ma not sure i will be abl;e to do any weight traininang in near future, as i have not joined any gymns and i have no idea whether i will be able to fit gymn in my routine.
Also we have our dinner by around 6:30 and go for our exercise walk after dinner.
Does anyone have any idea whther exercising after dinner is bad for you?
momofjj - Calorie cycling basically means eating different amounts of calories every day to "trick" your metabolism. For instance, if your daily calorie target is 1800, you would eat 1700 on Monday, 1900 on Tuesday, then you could keep that pattern going throughout the week or change it up --- as long as your calories average out to 1800 per week. If you search through the forums, you'll find tons of threads on calorie cycling. =) They should be extremely helpful.
If you really can't fit any weight training into your routine, that's alright. =) As long as you have a good diet and some form of exercise.
Sorry, I have no idea if exercising after dinner is "bad" for you. However, if you message Melkor, he'll most likely be able to tell you (he's our "fitness expert" over here at CC, lol).

Anyhow, I'm having a rough day. I couldn't keep myself away from my scale. Surprise, surprise -- I still weigh 170lbs (same weight as this Saturday). I know it sounds ridiculous to be upset over this, but honestly, my mood is so greatly influenced by the number I see on my scale... It's pathetic. When I see those numbers go down, I feel like I'm on top of the world. When I see an increase (or no movement at all), I feel so disappointed and disgusted with myself.
Oh well.
How is everyone else doing?
infiniteheart: maybe you should weigh yourself less. That way...less disappointments, but probably more rejoicing over more pounds lost:) That's my theory at least!
I moved my bathroom scale into the basement, because it always seems off to me & I don't trust it. But, I decided to weigh myself anyways today because I needed some kind of motivation because it's getting harder everyday (although I did turn down free Bertucci's pizza at my work today and opted for my yogurt and fruit lunch instead!!) But anyways, I weighed myself after I did a pilates video and it said 209. I had thought my starting weight was around 220, but perhaps it was more around 215, but since I didn't weigh myself at the start I have no idea...BUT, I think it means I've lost a bit:)
So, in conclusion...hopefully the scale isn't lying to me and I have lost some weight, because I have been busting my butt working out and dieting!! Anxiously awaiting Sept. 30 when I head off to the dr. and can really get weighed on a scale I trust!!
I try to stay away from the scale, but, I sometimes can't resist the urge, lol. Honestly, I'll try to weigh myself only once a week from now on.
If it helps, I definitely think you're making progress! You're doing a great job, so, keep it up!
******
Tomorrow is my official day for weekly weigh ins, so I'm hoping I'll be down 1-2lbs. I'm definitely going to work my butt off today. I'm also going to force myself to eat more. I can't believe I'm admitting this, but, I tend to only eat 1200 calories or less (sometimes only 800-1000 calories). I literally feel guilty if I eat more than 1200 calories - despite the fact that I'm pretty active and workout for at least 1hr (5 days a week). Still, I know I need to make a change if I want to be healthy.
Wish me luck!
I hope you're all doing well. =)
hey thanks for explaining it to me.
I always fluctuate, and i dont strictly stick to a perticular amount.
anyway i upped my calories this week to 2000 -2500/day and finally the cale started moving down again.
infiniteheart, i weigh myself around 10 times minimum daily.
Whenever i pass the scale, i feel compelled to weigh myself, and i dont feel bad when isee the fluctuation. pss.Secret:I have kept mine on the metric scale, so in kg the wight fluctuation is not that bad. and for logging in when i convert to lb or weigh in lb i can really see the difference which makes rme real happy.
yesterday i had the scale in lb all the time and i was horrified to see that i have more than 5 pound weight fluctuation in a day.
Today morning i have dutifully set it back to the kg units.:-)
maybe u can try this too.
sarshy85 :U are doing real good.
so when did u start? Our current weight is same.I shall look forward to your updates , to keep me motivated.btwn how much is ur daily calories intake?
momofjj: I started about 1.5 weeks ago, I wish it had been longer! haha. I usually eat around 1300-1400 a day. I should probably eat a bit more, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

I wanna be 140 again! used to weigh that in high school. Im just so used to doing what i normally do everyday and eating fast food its kinda hard to get in the habit of actually watching what i eat, and taking the time to work out. Its just so easy to go back to what Im used to, so I posted little notes for myself around the house with my goal weight to maybe motivate myself even more. Hope It works!
Good morning, everyone. How are we doing today?
I'm getting ready to head into a busy week at work. 2 courses coming up for me to manage, one here in CA and one in NC- both starting the same day! The one here is full of our more advanced students, too, who can be a bit of a crowd of prima donnas at times... we'll see how it goes. I'm going to do my best to avoid all the catering I've ordered for their lunches!
Just weighed myself and I'm only down 1/2 pound from last week. I had weighed Saturday morning and was down 1.5 pounds, but then had a night out with a good friend, including some alcohol, and I think that threw me for a loop. Been a looong time since I went out and drank and such. So, I'm hoping it's just my body still recovering from that and my super salty dinner last night and I'll be back on track soon.

Feels good to be back on track again!
