>>60-80lbs to Lose Group!<< (a.k.a "Open Group - 60-80lbs to Lose!")

Quote  |  Reply

I have 80lbs to lose until I reach my goal weight. Does anyone else have around 80lbs to lose? If so, post your stats and we can lose the weight together!

Here are my stats:

  • SW (Starting Weight): 194lbs
    CW (Current Weight): 185lbs
    GW (Goal Weight): 104-105lbs
  • Height: 5' 1"
  • Sex: Female
  • Age: 18

We're all here to support each other. So, whether you're having a great day or a horrible day, feel free to talk about it here. Post your weight updates whenever you feel comfortable doing so. There is only one rule here: Be kind. Let's not bring each other down.

Good luck!

Edit (July 11, 2008): The group is now open for those hoping to lose 60-80lbs.

Edit (August 2, 2008): Please include how much weight you've lost since joining the group (when you post updates on your weight). I think it'll be good to keep track of this. =)

Welcome back kristinedaqueen!!

want to lose 60 lbs and be back down to 140ish...anyone else?

Hey everyone! I'm sorry I've been absent these past few days. My computer is broken and I can only use whatever computer happens to be available. -_-"

I hope you're all doing well.

momofjj - Thanks for the tip! I never considered weighing myself in kg. I'll definitely try it!

yvette - Hey! Welcome to the group! I know it's difficult to get started but I know you can do it. Honestly, the hardest part is the first week or so. It gets a bit easier after that. Good luck! By the way, you and justitb21 have similar stats and goals. Maybe you can become buddies. =)

iamacommitmentto - Hopefully you're only retaining water. Sometimes, I like to think that "cheat days" are a good thing because they shock the metabolism a bit. Just make sure to get back on track!

kristine - Hey! I'm glad you're back! Damn, you're lucky you didn't gain weight! I'm sure I would have gained 50lbs... Ugh. Anyhow, I'm glad you're back on track again. =)

Just a little question for everyone: Why are you losing weight? To live longer? To feel confident? To avoid diabetes (if it runs in your family)? What are your reasons for losing weight?

My reason for losing weight is for my health, to live longer and just feel good again. Don't get me wrong, I love myself as I am now, I know that even if I stayed where I am I would be truly happy. I just think that it would benefit me to lose some extra poundage. LOL.

Hello all

I would like to join your group if its not too late :)

My name is Laura, I'm 24 years old and live in the UK. Ive been dieting for approx 20 months now, and have lost 92 pounds but need motivation for the last 60 pounds!!!

Height: 6'1"

SW: 330

CW: 238

GW: 182 (aiming between 172-188, I'll see how I look at 182)

The reason I'm losing weight is mainly for health (I had problems with osteoartheritis and PCOS) and for my confidence; I was fed up with hiding behind the 'funny fat girl' image when really I was unhappy.

Look forward to hearing from you! :)

Hi Friends,

I just saw this site with lot of healthy recipies.

http://health.discovery.com/national-body-cha llenge/recipes/

What do you think?I cook mostly our traditional food, so i am not an expert to judge on the taste  by looking at the ingredients.

Hope this helps!

Blah!

Hey everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been around. I feel off the horse on last Wedensday and didn't put myself back on till today. I exercised today and have been eating really healthy and I feel much better about myself. Unfortunately though I up to 188, but I'm not going to let that get me down.

lala - Congratulations on the weight loss this week! Just a question - is "Seasonale" affecting your weight loss at all? I'm thinking about possibly taking it myself.

Anyhow, I'm down to 170 this week! Something is finally working. Exercise + calorie cycling = success (for me)!

I hope you're all doing well!

Seasonale doesn't effect it eitheir way as far as I know, but I'm not sure, I've been on BC pills since I was 14 (almost 7 years now!), yasmin up until the beginning of last year.  I started on it not long after I ballooned up 40 lbs in 3 weeks due to very high doses of prednisone through IV for a brain hemorrhage, so I don't know whether to blame the medical condition, the rapid weight gain, or the BC for my inbility to shed any weight over the past 7 years.  But... when I came off of it for a month or two nothing changed (and my cyles continued just as they do while on it... meh I only switched pills for the 3 month benefit).  I'd say try it, but keep in mind the whole 1 year of staying on before your cycle adjusts to it as it should.  Maybe it'll work for you.

Update time:  I've been busy as hell with school.  2 lab classes of 6 hrs a week each and a 4 hr math lab every week, plus online class is kicking my butt.  But, I did make sure to wake up early (5:30AM!) today to get out of the house for some running before having to take off for my early morning chem class (then remained stuck in school till 6pm... so tired!)

  • SW: 201.5
  • LW: 188
  • CW:187! (after fluctuating back and forth between LW and SW for a couple of weeks, I broke through!)
  • GW: 130(ish)
  • Sex: Female
  • Age: 21
  • Height: 5'8"

I am happy now, cause I see I am progressing a bit.  Though it's been only about 5 pounds in over a month, overall I feel more healthy and energetic.

Hey! I'm glad to see everyone posting. =)

kristine - I wish I had the same kind of confidence that you have. I have very low self esteem but I'm definitely working on it. You have some great reasons!

laura- Holy crap! 92lbs?? Wow, you're my hero!! Lol =D Hopefully, we can support you and help you lose the last 60lbs. You have some great reasons as well. Your body is definitely thanking you for taking better care of it.

momofjj - Diabetes runs in my family, too. That's one of the main reasons I decided to lose weight. Also, I know how hard it is to be the biggest person in a room/party/anywhere. Those are great reasons! Also, thanks for the recipes! I never used to cook, but I just might start. =)

melody - That's a great attitude. One mess up shouldn't get you down! You can do this! I've screwed up so many times but I always got right back on track. Now, I'm 30lbs lighter and still going! Good luck!

lala - Thanks for the info! Oh god... waking up at 5:30AM is just not possible for me... I'm definitely NOT a morning person. School isn't kicking my butt --- yet. I actually have a lecture tonight (6-8PM) which might tire me out. Anyway, I'm glad you're starting to see some results!

I hope you're all doing well! Keep us all updated on how things are going!

Good luck!

Hey everyone!

I decided to reward myself with a shopping spree today! I had an amazing time! I could actually go into normal stores and fit into the clothes. Honestly, I was ecstatic.

How are you all rewarding yourselves when you reach your mini-goals?

so my scale lied to me...it said last week-ish that I was at 210, but nope, it was off, unfortunately. When I started at the gym I was lucky enough to find a dr's scale in the changing room (yesss) and so now I feel very confident on weighing myself on that. BUT...Last week I was at 215, hoping I had gone down from 220ish within the past 2 weeks, but when I weighed myself last night I was down to 212 since last Tuesday, hooray:) I am hoping it keeps up like this.

My short-term goal is 200 by Halloween/my birthday (Nov. 1). So, 12 more pounds in the next month and a half definitely seems reasonable:) AS for a reward when/if I hit that 200 mark, I should probably find something good since I haven't been that weight since I was 18, yiiikes. Maybe a manicure or a haircut??

SW: 220ish (guessing)

CW: 212

GW: 150 (even though CC tells me 149, psht)

I've lost some weight despite it being my TOM.  Could be due to upping my running time and throwing in some weights

  • HI! I just joined 3 days ago. I'm sort of a single mom, since my husband has been working out of the country since June and won't be back till November...My daughter is 19 months old, and I have always been tall (6 ft) and "Big" but never this big! LOL I perform regularly on stage, and my band has a big gig coming up on October 9th, so i thought maybe I could lose at least 20 pounds by then...AM I CRAZY??? Probably. But I just trained my daughter NOT to scream when mommy gets on the Nordic Track, today she allowed me 40 minutes!!!

But I have a confession to make....I threw away my scale a couple months ago. It was gathering dust.

So I don't know how much I weigh now, I'm thinking since I still fit nicely into the clothes I wore before I got pregnant, (that weight actually came off fast, it was a before pregnancy problem, not after!) That I weigh around 250. Wow. That number is high. i just converted kilos into pounds. 116 kilos sounds better. lol

My problem was not overeating, i rarely snack, it was WHAT I was cooking with. I was using lots of cream and butter without realizing how many calories I was actually consuming!

But now, for three days I've been religiously punching in the numbers and gasping, and now I think I've been under eating without being hungry. I don't want to go into starvation mode but at the same time don't want to eat over 1500 calories...

Thanks for listening, I think this website is great for support!

I've been so busy lately that I've hardly had time to eat. Yesterday, I ate a whopping 350 calories. Today, I ate 1000 calories. >.<

Ugh, I definitely need to start eating more or else I'll go into starvation mode. I'm aiming for 1400 calories tomorrow. I'm hoping to get down to 160lbs by the end of the month. Wish me luck!

sarshy - A haircut sounds like a great idea to reward yourself!

lala - For some reason, my weight is unaffected by my TOM. Lucky me, I guess, lol. Weight training is really going to pay off. When you get to your goal weight, you're going to be really fit!

ofelia - Losing 20lbs by Oct 9 is pretty much impossible, not to mention unhealthy. Aim for around 5lbs-10lbs instead. Anyhow, I'm not sure how many calories you should be eating, but I think you should definitely follow what CC says. Eating too little can be very dangerous. Also, I guarantee that you'll hit a plateau at some point (which you'll despise). Anyhow, whatever you decide to do, good luck!

Keep posting, everyone! I want to know how you're all doing! =)

    Hi all!

Not much time to write as I needed to be in bed an hour ago, but I just wanted to pop in and say GOOD JOB to everyone so far.  Whether you've lost 1 pound or 60 you're here, and that means you've made your first step.  Stick with it and slowly but surely we can all do this!  It may get ugly and it may get hard and we may fall off the wagon here or there, but stay determined and eventually we CAN accomplish our goals!  And, in the meantime, remember to love yourself every other step of the way.

Take gentle care.  This body and this life is all we have- let's make the most of it!

(Yikes!  This is what watching How To Look Good Naked does to me, I guess!) :)

I couldn't have said it better myself!

I guess I don't have much to say today. I'm absolutely exhausted. I'm just hoping that I lose 2lbs by Sunday...

I hope you're all doing well!

    Where is everyone???

I'm here!Laughing and down a few more pounds!

I took a week and didn't weigh myself, and then when I did I found I had gained 6 POUNDS....I was pissed and confused. I had been eating healthy and exercising...could I have been bloated, or something?? who knows...but I stepped back on the scale yesterday and am to my lowest weight yet, phew. Sometimes my body really confuses me!

    GW: 150ish
