Anyone that is close to this want to form a support/motivation group?    I tried to do this whole weight loss thing before, but I'm an emotional eater and had ALOT of stress the last few months.   I'm taking some accountability now though and getting back on track.

I'd love to have some other folks to talk to and help keep me motivated... and help motivate in return.

I need all the help I can get.  I got up to over 300lbs 2 years ago and now still have another 88lbs to loose.  Nov. Dec. and Jan. were hard months and I gained a lot but now have started to loose again.  I'm 38/F and I know the older I get the harder it will be.  I want to be down to my goil by the time I'm 40.
I'd love to help, get help, stay motivated with you all. I'm 5'4" and 208 right now...down from 260, still have 81 pounds to lose.  I've been at CC since Jan last year, and it is how I've lost the 52 pounds so far. I forgot I'm 34 years old.

I'm all for the motivation!  I'm 31 (almost 32) 5'6" with 85 pounds to go until my goal weight (150)!  I am currently 234.8...I started January 7 at 260 pounds, started CC January 14 at 251 (big loss first week, due to water weight etc.) I have had a pretty stead 2-2.5 lbs loss a week & followed my plan religiously!  My hope is to have lost or very close to lost 110 pounds by January next year.  In the past I have been as high as 300 pounds, counted calories (on my own, didn't know about CC) and lost about 60.  Then I got pregnant (I have 3 kids) SURPRISE and quit counting during pregnancy and for the next year.  I did pretty good and only started out about 15ish pounds heavier than when I quit counting (and eating crap LOL).  So, I am back at this and I am LOVING this site! Feel free to add me to your friends list(s)!

We can sooooo do this!!!

I'll play...I started two weeks ago yesterday (2/11) with 70 pounds to lose by the end of the year. I am a male and I am 41 years old. As of this morning, that 70 is now 59. 11 pounds in 15 days is a great start. My initial goal was losing roughly 7lbs a month. Given where I am today, I am pretty confident that I can lose 15+ pounds by the end of my first month. I have cut out ALL fast food, I am at roughly 1500 calories a day and I am not starving at all. I am eating as much as before, but much better low cal/low fat foods. I also went from doing no exercise to about 1.5 hours of biking/walking every day.
5'5" and I'm 24. I currently lost 167 pounds (weighing 127 now) and I've been maintaining for 4 months. I just wanted to poke in here and say IT CAN BE DONE! Just stick with it. :)

I'm in! Like tjej - "I'll play".

I've been a member since January 1st, 2008. I started out at 310+ (I take the average of two digital scales I have, one was 311 and one was 310).
I'm 26 years old male, 5'7". I basically started out thinking I wanted to get back to my old self when I was 18 and played sports and boxed before college and the sedientary life set in, but now I've decided I want be more than what I used to be! I'll add more to my bio when I get around to it.

As of yesterday I was 284!

Shall we use the format other groups have been using? Pick a day of the week to post our results? Maybe something like this?

Start Date: 01/01/2008
Starting Weight: 310+ lbs
Current Weight: 284 lbs
Goal: 220 lbs
Loss so far: 26 lbs

I'm tagging and adding this forum to my Tagged Forums so it's easier to find.

I'd like to join in on the fun too! I'm about to turn 31,  am 5'4  and started at CC Feb 10 was 197 and on the 22nd I weighed in at 193.8.  My highest weight was about 215, my current goal weight is 160. From there I'll go to 140 etc etc. I'm glad I found this group! I'm sure we'll all help each other!!
Can I join in? I'm 32 5'6'' and currently 218 lbs. Started at 231 and my goal is 160. I hate that CC says right now I will reach my goal in July 2009! That seems so far away! Anyway, hate being the lazy mom I never wanted to be! Joined a gym and actually go 3x a week and quit smoking 9 days ago! Total body make over huh!!! Thank you God! Hope we can all help each other reach our goals! However long it takes!

WOW!  I like the response!   If you all can't keep me motivated, I don't know what will.

It looks like we already have some people that are starting off really well.  Those of us that are just getting started (or getting started again) could really benefit from all your success.

Now all we have to do is figure out the details on how we want to do this.  Do we want to start a thread each week for updates?  Do we want to come up with some type of 'team name' or descriptor so we can put it in the post title so we know how to find it each week?

I'm in!  I'm 29, female, and 5' 2.5" -- I've been yo-yo-ing most of my life, getting progressively heavier.  Since 2005, my highest weight ever has been 245 (gah!), lowest 185.  I'm quite upset that I let it get back up beyond the 200 point again.

My ideal weight according to height is supposed to be 110-135... I was in the 135-145 range in high school, when I was at my most active.  I have had, at minimum, a thick build all my life.  I'd be pretty thrilled to get down to 150.  But I'll be ambitious and say my goal is to lose 70 pounds, too.  I'd ultimately like to be not-thick at some point in my life!

Start Date: 02/03/08

Starting Weight: 203

Current Weight: 198

Goal Weight: 133 (lose 70 lbs!)

Loss So Far: 5 lbs

My short-term goal is to hit 193 (10 lbs down) by my 30th birthday, which is in one month!

I haven't added any friends yet on CC, but I'll try to add everyone here if I can figure it out.  By the way, a thank you to x17star17x -- I've seen your posts around and you are really inspirational!  I really hope having a little support group here will keep me more accountable.  momzturn, I think it might be better to keep the same thread so we can tag it and not go hunting for a new one each week.  Feel free to come up with your own title name since it's your creation, after all!  Thanks for starting the thread.

Hello all.  I'm 28 years old, 5'5, and weigh 217 lbs.  My goal is to lose 87 lbs. and be at 130 lbs.  I'm not sure how long it will take.  I've been a notorious yo-yoer lately.  My first goal is to get under 200 lbs. in the next few weeks.  I feel like if I can reach that, I will have enough momentum to keep going.  I have drastically changed the way I eat in the last couple of months but have been falling short on working out.  Now I'm focusing on that.  I was doing well then started school and gained some weight back.  But, I've got the eating habits corrected, but that alone is not enough to get the pounds off.

Good luck to everyone!
Okay, I just added everyone on this page as a buddy... feel free to add me too! Smile

momz - I think we should stick to this thread and add onto it. Since you started the thread, you can edit your first post and change the title/name of the thread.

I think we should do the once a week (or biweekly) weigh in and use a standard format to post our results. Sunday?

I've posted my workout routine for the next month in my journal if peeps want to check it out. I had another routine for about two months, then it really got stagnant so I had a friend help me design a totally new one. And it REALLY kicked my butt! Especially the overhead presses cleaned from the floor.

The decline abs also killed. I'm already starting to feel the doms and my muscles are all drained. Haha, going to goto bed early tonight!

Added peeps to the buddy list too!

Count me in, too!  You all sound like a great motivation resource.  I'll definitely be needing it on the weekends!  I turned 40 last year and have about 47 lbs. to lose.

Okay people! It's Friday! Start of the weekend!

Most of us will be going to parties, restaurants, friends, movies, or just plain old hanging out at home! Remember ~ We gotta be strong and conscious of what we're putting into our mouths!

When you're bored instead of turning on the television, go for a walk! When you're talking on the phone, instead of sitting on the couch walk around the house/room/apartment!

Just think of what the "old you" would be doing and then do the healthier opposite!

Exercise of the day - Dips! (Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps!)

Is there a specific day that we are going to post our weight losses? If we haven't decided on a day yet, may I suggest Wednesdays? Anyway, I hope everyone is doing great! And thanks to all who have added advice and suggestions!!
