Quote  |  Reply

Hello everyone! My name is Kylie, and since the begining in the year I have lost about 15lbs with swimming, walking, and various workout videos. Which leaves me at 181.4 (as of this morning!)

My goal is to get to 130 :)

So who is down?!

I sure am! I was about 200 when I started, and I'm currently 185, hopefully I can get myself down to 140-150 (whatever looks good, haha)

Awesome on the weight loss so far!

Hi!
I'm at 190; I want to be at 140.

I just joined today. I'm keeping a food log and an exercise log. I not only want to loose this weight, but, for health reasons, I have to. I am pre diabetic, so, it's important that I get my act together and focus on my health for a change.

I hope we can help each other!

Peace!

how are you going to do that??

Hi, I just joined and I need all the motivation I can get.  I'm deployed in Afghanistan and my current weight is 205; I would like to get down to 145.  So I'm game!!!!!

Welcome Dkrous, kareen, jhonny, and yccerica!

Well today is FRIDAY!!! YAY friday! And I have a wedding shower to go to Yell NOO! I had a good workout out yesterday (Slim in 6, Ramp it up!) and went for a nice long walk.

As a suggestion to everyone; I myself am looking for total body fat loss...so not only do I do Slim in 6 six days a week, but monday through friday my gym body and I hit up the gym for cardio and some light strength work!

I also suggest SPARKPEOPLE.com  for the diet thing...its totally FREE, and they set of food for you depending on your weight loss goals...its sweet!

Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful day! I will try and see how everyone is doing tonight!

Oh, and let me know if anyone needs a more interactive buddy! I have email or text if anyone needs that extra push!

:) Kylie

I need to lose at least 50lbs, too!! And this is my last chance, so I have to do this!

I'm excited...isn't it so fun to think about what everything will be like once we reach our goal weights?

When is everyone trying to reach their goal by? I am, for the first time in my life, not giving myself a specific goal date, although I'm thinking within the next year or so I should have reached my goal weight...1lb a week would be perfect.

I'm a ballet dancer so when the new school year starts I will be dancing every day except for Sundays, and then I also exercise a lot...every day and I vary it (callanetics, pilates, cardio, my own stretching/conditioning routine for ballet, etc.)

What's everyone's calorie goals? I'm going to do 1500 calories a day with 1800 calories every Sunday as a maintanence day. Also, I'll eat back the calories I burned through exercise (except for ballet and some other stuff.)

I'm in too..the more motivation I can get from others, hopefully the more I'll succumb to peer pressure! lol

I need to lose 60 pounds...I've lost 13 so far but it's been over quite a few months...slow moving.....

Thanks for the welcome, kyliebird!

And for the tip on spark, too! I'll check that out.

I did 3 1/2 hours in the garden today.
I'm following the advice of my dietitian, too, so, I"ve actually burned off more calories than I've eaten today, according to the calorie counter and the activity log here on the site! I really like these tools, but, they take alot of time. Since I'm a teacher, and I have a bit of time off now, I can do it. I'm hoping I'll have it pretty much down by the time school starts, cuz, I won't have this much time once it does! LOL! It's hard getting all the calories, protien, carbs, fats, etc of everything I eat down. Yikes! Surprised But, it sure is a good approach to know how I'm doing. And the analysis is really nice too! I"ve gotten two "B+"s thus far! Wish my students did this well in class! LOL!

Anyway, I really look forward to getting to know folks here and working together for a common goal. Hang in their folks; we can do this!

My biggest test will be tonight. Friday night I usually meet my friends for a drink or three! LOL! Oh, well. I can do without since it's my second day on a diet again! Tongue out

Peace!

Hi Kylie-

Thanks for the invite. I am with you. I just started my weight loss journey July 17th and am down 12 pounds so far. I have really restricted my diet by cutting out EVERYTHING bad for me and am doing well with it so far. If I feel the need to be bad, I am thankful to find out that a taste will make me happy. And I stick to just a taste too =) I started at 220 (!!!!!!!) my heaviest EVER and have a goal weight of 135. I am 5'7" and am down with the texting as well. Let me know if you still want to do this. I think that for all of us, motivation and the support of good friends is going to be key.

Thanks again!!!

~Melissa

I've worked my way up to over 190 which puts me up about 10 lbs a year for the last 6 years.  Each ten pounds I say I'm not going to keep on this track.  I've tried every weight loss program out there: Jenny, Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem (tastes and smells like dog food), and low carb.  I finally decided to go back to basics: calories in vs. calories out.  Hope this works for me.  I just started today and am thrilled over the resources of this free website.  My goal is 135 lbs.

Happy sunday everyone!! I am FINALLY back home from that wedding shower I had to go to...no worries though! No slip ups over here! <3

So tomorrow is MINI GOAL MONDAYS! Which means we set a small goal we want to accomplish by next monday. Easy enough right? You dont have to set a goal to lose weight...try something like; I will work out 5 days a week, or no soda. We will start off slowly so none gets burned out! Thats no fun at all.

Okay, and I do have a goal for 28 days from now...its my cousins WEDDING! ICK!! So my MONSTER month goal is to lose 10lbs by then. :) Not so bad ey?

So how was everyones weekend?

Hey Kylie, i just want to say congratulations on what you've lost so far, and i know you can do it!  Your first post is extremely familiar, i started at 181.4 exactly, with a goal of 130.  As of now i've lost 35 pounds, so stick with it and you can make it!  I have about 16 pounds left and i hope in a few months to see you able to post something similar!  Good luck!

My goal for the week is to make the most of my first week of my Senior year at high school!!

Even though I said I would be following a 1500 cal a day meal plan with one 1800 cal day, I decided that the first four weeks are going to be done differently for me. The reason being is that I have exactly four weeks until I start ballet again and I would like to lose a significant amount of weight in that time. So I will follow a plan that a dietitian gave me last year:

Breakfast - protein (yogurt)

Lunch - starch, protein, fruit (sandwich w/ turkey, an apple)

Snack - protein, fruit (protein bar)

Snack - starch (pretzels)

Dinner - protein (4oz chicken or 6oz fish with plenty of cooked vegetables, salad)

Snack - fruit, fat (banana w/ 1T peanut butter)

----------------

I lost a lot of weight eating this but the reason I refuse to do it longer than a month is because it's not a lifestyle change and not something I can do on a daily basis. It is a very strict diet, and I'm trying to not be so strict and lose weight slowely. But, certain situations call for certain measures and I feel like this s the healthiest way for me to get the push I need.

So, that's what I'll be doing for the next four weeks until I start ballet again, with one exception, and that is that weekends will be 1500 on Saturday, 1800 on Sunday.

Does anyone here exercise?

I'm debating over whether I should take a Total Conditioning class tomorrow or not. I kind of feel like I'd rather go for a walk for an hour. I think I might burn myself out if I take the total conditioning class, because in the morning I'll be doing an hour of Callanetics and then after I do the class I'm going to do some pilates/conditioning on my own (ballet exercises, Pilates exercises, stretching) so I think I would be better off taking the walk??

GOAL FOR THE WEEK: Workout Monday thru Saturday, and eating well everyday :)

Hey pballerina! A dietician really gave you that set up? I'm glad you arnt going to stick to it for so long! Thats a little scary, but most likely a very good jumpstart for your new school year!

As for the question about working out...here is a reply from me! WORKOUT IS KEY! If you diet and JUST lose weight that way then you are more lickly to have 'soft spots' , lose skin, and other not so cute things. So I definately suggest taking up some sort of routine!

:D Darcy congrats on the weight loss so far! What did you do to get your results? You should update your pictures!!

hey there! wondering if i can still join--started at 232 lbs, now down to 206ish.  still want to get down to 155, so that's just about 50 lbs.

I just got back from visiting my family for a couple of months, and we eat healthily there so I had no problem shedding some pounds.  But now that i'm back and living with my roommate, and etc, it's so much harder for me to stay on track!

Anyone is welcome to join anytime Foodietootie (hehe silly name)!

Welcome to the group! My name is Kylie :)

Lol, my real name's Naomi :)

So 1.5 weeks ago i weighed in at 200.2 lbs WEARING clothes at the doc's office. 4 days ago, after a week of waaay too many bars, weighed in at 210.  Guessing some of that was water weight, since I'm down to 206 today, but this week, I'd like to eat 1600 caloriesish, and then see where I am...so basically...

Goal of the week--Rehydration and damage control :D
