I was just wondering based on your deficits, how many lbs. do you typically lose per week? I lose - depending on what I eat/how much I work out - between 2.30 and 2.60 lbs. per week. How bout you?

Well I've only done this a week but I've lost 4-5 pounds. I can usually shed pounds like that pretty well.. I guess it's my body type.
I must be doing something wrong... I only ever lose about 1 pound per week. I watch my calories and work out three times a week!! Bummer.
ckwski, I have a LOT to lose so my body gets rid of it faster for the time being. 1 pound a week is perfect :)
I lose about .75-1 pound a week.
Depending on my activity level, I usually average somewhere from 1-3 pounds a week. My caloric defecit is usually in the 1,000-1,300 range every day.
In the begining I lost 5 lbs per week totalling 40 lbs in 2 months, now that it has slacked off its about 1.5 lbs per week... however

there is weeks i dont lose any, but the next week ill lose 6.  sometimes I gain that 6 lbs back then lose 10 the following week....

I chuck that all up to being water weight gain with swelling, that one time of the month, or constipation lol  Now that I eat healthier, I no longer go once per day, its  more like once per week. Drives me nuts

I try to stay around 1500-1700 calories per day, 1700 is what the dietician says to eat... but i got 79 more lbs to lose so i want to lose more than 1.5 lbs a week, even tho its only healthy to lose 1 - 2 lbs per week

my deficit is around 400 to 500 daily
My first 3 weeks I lost 3 pounds each week.
Week 4 I ended up losing 2.5 pounds

I'm getting to the point now where I can only fit a 1000 calorie deficit in without going below the 1500 calories minimum my body needs (I'm a guy).   So I expect in the coming weeks it'll level out at 2 pounds... then shrink more as I can't fit in a huge deficit anymore (since the amount you need for maintenance changes as you lose weight).

I eat back all the calories I work out so on days I burn 400 at the gym... I'll have 1900 that day total.

So far so good.   Even more exciting that seeing the pounds drop is seeing the inches drop off my stomach measurement.   3 inches in 2 weeks!   The more that changes the better no matter what my final weight is.
To those who have replied so far: if you know what your average daily caloric deficit is, could you please edit your posts and include the information? Thanks!
my first week, i lost 6 lbs!

my second week, i lost 4 lbs!

and my third week, i lost 2 lbs!

so that means i average 4 lbs a week.

but my aim is only 1-2 lbs a week. :D

I lose about 2.75 lbs a week.  I have been doing this since March 27th and lost 12.6 lbs total.  My goal is 190 by August 1st.
I just started (after regaining 2/3 of 70+ lbs lost over 2 years) - and my goal is a pretty straight deficit of 1,000 calories/day. Going from a fairly sedentary lifestyle to stretching and walking every day, plus packing up 5 years of stuff in order to move to a much smaller place, I've decided for a daily goal of 1,600 calories/day.

So far I've lost 3 lbs since beginning May 13. The first week looks to be a -4 lbs week, but I anticipate that I'll lose about 2/week after that, at least for the first 6-8 weeks, until my body becomes accustomed to my new eating.

In the past I was doing WW and as I lost more and ate less (as my point range changed), my loss slowed down pretty considerably. As I am closer to 40 than 30, I have grown concerned that my metabolism cannot do very low calorie diets, so I'm planning to eat more this time around.
Sorry to go on so much, I'm in that "I'm really excited about losing weight" stage. :)
when I started my plan about 1.5 years ago at 150, I was losing about 2lbs a week. Then I got comfortable at 143 and went back up to 145. Now I'm at 138-139 and trying to get to 135 and I only lose about 1 lb A MONTH. Maybe not even! :) It's ok though. I know it's going to be hard. But I started here in March at 142 and was weighing at night so I was really 140 in the am. In 2 months I've only lost 2 lbs. But this time I'm going to make it permanent!!!

Keep up the great work everyone!!

I'm not exaggerating but I lose 3 lbs over night. For instance, the last time I ate last night was at 6pm, then I went to the gym at 9 to 11pm. My daily routine is running 2 miles straight at a speed of 6, then walking the 3rd mile out (that is a pace of  1 mile per 10 min). Then I work on my arms. I usually lift 8 pounders to tone up and do push ups. Next, I hop on the stair climber for 1 mile; finally I get into the sauna for about 13 min. Go home & sleep and when I wake up, I'm 3 lbs less than I was the day before.

I try to eat more during the morning and the day because I'll lose too much weight. but every one is different.

I hope this helps some :)

1 lb per week (After just starting carb cycling and ending a plateau)..

I've always had to be quite strict to lose any at all.. but I don't mind. Just a couple months to go and I'll hit 8-10% body fat.

How can I make walking fun?

You have to find a way to make exercise fun or else you won't do it. If you walk indoors on a treadmill, I recommend moving outdoors into the fresh air... Read more
