I havent taken the time to read all 11 or so pages of this thread, but i assume we weight in every week? Thanks :)
I like the new name as well! Sorry I've been slow about posting. I have been doing just as poorly with eating or even recording what I eat or drinking... ugh. Lets just say I don't know if I've over eaten or under eaten. (needless to say its likely the former). I know I haven't drunk enough liquids.
Today I weigh in at 256.4.
Lets see if I can do better next week.
My mom will be coming back from Africa next week so probably not. But who knows maybe Africa will have changed her eating habits.
- Starting Weight (& day joined): 279 (Sept 20, 2007)
- Highest Weight EVER: 280
- Mini-Goals: 1st Goal Weight: 250
- ULTIMATE Goal Weight: 130
- Plan: Ahh... The plan. Right now I'm looking at eating between 1700 and 1900 a day, walking at least 20 minutes, doing at least 10 cumulative minutes of free weights and trying to throw in another 20 minute walk or 30 minute aerobics video at least five days a week but shooting for something EVERY day.
I know how it feels to want kids....People think that that's so funny NOW, seeing as how I now have 4!! That still doesn't erase all the feelings I had when we were trying (for 3 years). I ended up having 4 kids in 5 years! First two, I was on fertility meds and the last 2....well, you know.... I had a boy and a girl, so I was done. THEN when my son was 4 months old I ate a grape and got heartburn (a tale tell sign of pregnancy for me!) so I went and took the "left over" pregnancy test I had from my son, and sure enough I was pregnant AGAIN!! When I went to the Dr. for my Pre-natal exam, the nurses asked me if I was there for my post-partum. Imagine their surprise when I said no, pre-natal!! It was crazy.... My kids are currently 8, 6, 5 and my baby Zoey will be 4 in a few months. You will have a nice space between your kids, and I'm envious. Of course, I wouldn't change a thing.
Oops, sorry. I didn't mean to go on a tangent. Just got caught up in memory lane.
Anyway, I guess I need to pick a weigh in day....I think I'll go Sundays, but that may change. I do things so randomly at times. As of today, I'm down 74 pounds from my highest ever. 248 and it looks so sweet! I never thought I'd see below 250. I've be going between the 260's and upper 250's for months now...So I am very excited. I will post on Sunday with an "official" number.
Have a great day ladies!

When it comes to vegetables, spinach is my new BEST friend.
Lately, we've been buying TWO of those 10oz bags at the grocery store several times a week ... LOL. Who would've thought that I would be eating spinach practically EVERY day!? Last night I made some wheat bulgur (less calories and less carbs than brown rice), mixed it with chopped raw spinach, fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, lemon juice and balsamic vinegar and made a delectable tabouli salad.
Today for lunch, I took the entire bag of spinach (65 calories, 8g protein), added four red ripe small tomatoes (60 calories total), added in 140 calories of lean ham chunks, some calorie-free dressing and lemon pepper .... and had a HUGE, yummy spinach salad for 265 calories. Then I added 100 calories of whole grain crackers and 40 calories of light cream cheese ... for a total lunch of about 400 calories!)
My target calorie breakdown for each meal ...
300 breakfast
400 lunch
100 snack
500 dinner
200 after dinner snacks
1500 TOTAL EACH DAY
This gives me enough "wiggle room" to go over 200 calories at dinner if I need to, plus it lets me have two healthy snacks in the evening ... lately I've been doing a protein shake (100 calories) and popcorn (100 calories)..... though sometimes I eat a cup of berries and a dollop of light whipped topping (100 calories) or a Carb Smart Fudgesicle (100 calories).
I keep a list of fresh veggies on my refrigerator, and cross them off as we use them ... so we don't lose any to spoilage.
I also keep a list on my refrigerator of low-calorie snack ideas, for when I get stumped or frustrated.
WHAT ARE YOUR DIETING TIPS?
♥ ♥ MOLLY ♥ ♥
Let me first say that I'm pretty sure we've ALL been there, and the fact that you're here is GREAT! Now let me tell you, take it one day at a time.
I'm a 40 year old working mother of 4, and let me tell you, I am ALWAYS Tired! =) But here are some things that I've done. I hope it this helps you.
Like I said before, take it one day at a time. I first decided that I would start counting calories, and through this site figured out how many that would be. So for the first week, that's that I did.
The second week, I decided to start drinking my 64oz of water a day. That was no easy feat. I decided that I had to have at least 24oz. of water BEFORE I could even think about my Diet Coke. Then after I'd had all my water I could have my beloved soda.
Week 3, I started walking. I walked 1 mile 3 days a week. That meant getting up BEFORE 5 am. My husband leaves at 5:30 and I still have to get myself ready for work and the kids ready for school.
Well...long story short...7 months later, I'm down 60 pounds!! (74 from my highest weight). I workout 30 - 45 minutes a day 5 days a week, I'm down to 2 diet soda's a day (from 6-8), and I count my calories.
So basically, take baby steps and you will be amazed!
Again, Welcome...
- Starting Weight (& day joined): 265
- Highest Weight EVER: I'm living it :(
- Mini-Goals: 1st Goal Weight: shooting for 240 by Halloween
- ULTIMATE Goal Weight: 150/160.. I'm going to wait and see, I'm tall so it's hard to know :)
- Plan: about a week and a half ago I began drinking at least 80oz. of water a day, and have been counting my calories. My meals have been more structured and healthy than ever before. Last week I got up every morning at 5am (the only chance I have) for 30-45 minute workouts in the gym. I'm doing Sunday bike rides with my dad, and I ride my horse at least 3 times a week. I want to incorporate swimming into my regimen as well, because my apartment complex has a nice pool in addition to the gym.
Hi, everyone! I'm Jenna and I'm a 20 year old student in Northern California. My first goal is freaking me out because I weighed that much fairly recently.. I gained a lot of weight but didn't really notice until I stepped on the scale. The first time I was using CC.com, I was at 235ish. I'm 5'11", so I guess that may be why I didn't notice!
Regardless, it's time.. and I need support. I've been good with my plan for this first week, but the past couple days I've chosen an extra hour of sleep over the gym. Can't do that anymore! I was feeling a difference, now I'm just feeling guilty. I have been really focused this time around about the way my body feels, not just how it looks, and I'm really liking the mentality.
The bottom line for me is that I'm turning 21 in April, and this feels like the last chance to turn my life around while I'm truly young. I want my body to know that this will be a life-long change.
Thanks everyone :).
EDIT: I forgot to mention that the office manager at my work and myself are starting an office-wide Biggest Loser competition to correlate with the show. We're doing a 12-week competition starting Monday. I decided to be a part, so I'm hoping it'll be extra motivation :) We'll also be meeting weekly and discussing food and exercise choices and whatnot. It'll be a nice jumpstart!
Welcome newbies
, heh.
cmcole: AMAZING! Absolutely! Great job on the 8lbs! You must be gleeming.
candycane02: We have the same start weight AND current weight.. FREAKY. lol. oh, welcome by the way.
eponajenna: Wow, the same name and the same start weight.. haha! Welcome! I started CC at 256, but I was 265 in July. Anyway, welcome welcome welcome.
--------------------------------------------- ---------------------
This week has been SO crazy. I haven't been home other than for sleep, pretty much. All my time has been spent at school, studying, on buses, and at the gym. I'm surprised how much energy I have though. I wouldn't have been able to keep up with this lifestyle if it wasn't for counting calories and getting my protein in.
So far this week I've worked out on Monday, Wednesday (twice) and today. The second time on Wed. was doing aquafit "bootcamp" with my mom haha. It was so much fun.
I'm feeling REALLY hungry this week, I just feel like I want to munch out on whatever is in front of me.. which could be bad.
It's almost Friday, HALLEJUIAH!
<3 Jenn
cmcole - that is awesome! You are doing an excellent job, keep up the good work!
fortyandfab - wow - 4 kids! I can't imagine how difficult it would have been to have that many that close in age - especially when they were younger - no wonder you're tired! Congratulations on the weight you've lost - 74 lbs is an achievement!
Well I lost 1 pound this week, but I don't know if I am going to continue to weigh in. I am afraid to focus too much on weight right now. Not seeing losses or even seeing gains could have a negative affect on me.
Hope everyone has an excellent week!
I agree, no weigh ins would be good for you. Being pregnant can be stressful enough. I am so thrilled for you. I love when people who wants children, get pregnant. It's such a blessing.
I have decided to post my weight and stats here this Sunday instead of waiting until the last day of this month since the suspense is killing me. =)
I have been tracking myself using my polar f11 and all I can say is that it is the best fitness investment I've made.
I hope that everyone continues to reach their fitness and life goals.
TTYL

- Highest Weight EVER: 242 when i was pregnant
- Mini-Goals: 1st Goal Weight: 200

I am curious what type of scale do you guys use i dont have one, i weigh myself at my husbands grandmothers house when we go over (lol) so i need to get a good home scale...oh and i did my measurements when i started but i didnt get my neck, ankle, calf, forearem or wrist....but i will once i'm done writing this... - lala
Hmmm my second goal weight? I'm making it a big number this time. I want to 199 before our company's Christmas break so that I can have a tattoo done. ![]()
So that would be 45 lbs in approx 14 weeks. 3.2lbs might be pushing it a bit but we'll see. I lost 20lbs in 7 weeks and my doctor was ok with it so when I see here again in Oct I'll make sure that my 3.5 plan is going to be healthy for me.
