Pat 15lbs is also huge, and we just have to keep plugging away, we WILL get there. for me, i have noticed a BIG difference in the way my body looks already, and others notice too which is nice! I went to lane bryant today and can officially say I am out of the 22/24 size. everything looked like a tent, and i loved every bit of it!! GO US!!
Way to go Molly! 50lbs is huge! I didn't realize how huge until I went to the grocery store last night and tried to pick up a 50lb bag of potatoes. It was really heavy but I hugged it close to my body and started walking around the produce section and told my friend who was with me, "this is what I used to look like!" You should try that next time you're near a sack of potatoes, it makes those 50lbs seem much more real.
lbaxleyl just wait until next year when the cold weather hits and your new jacket is way too big! I put on my winter coat from last year a couple of weeks ago and looked like a hobo.

I took your advice and picked up 2, 25-pound bags of sunflower seeds yesterday and thought, "Yikes, I've been lugging this around with me, EGADS!" It sure was nice to put down those sacks ... and to lose 50 pounds.
=^..^= MOLLY
I've lost 35 since July, but that doesn't compare to Molly's awesome weight loss!
You've probably already heard this a million times, but congratulations on all the hard work and progress ![]()
awww.... thanks, everyone.
Now on to losing the next 20 pounds so I can get OUT of the 300s!!!!
=^..^= MOLLY
Molly awesome weight loss. Believe me there is nothing like getting under 300 I have done it a couple times in my life and I plan on never doing it again.
I lost 3.2 pounds this week so I am down to 290.1. I am hoping to be at 280 when I go to disney world I only have 10 to go in 4 weeks plus thanksgiving and all. I know it is a stretch but I can dream :)
Right now I am just doing my bowflex three days a week but after thanksgiving I am going to start walking for 30 minutes during my lunch hour.
Hey everyone!
Welcome to all the new people since i've been on. I've been moving a bit slow due to a outpatient back procedure on the nerves in my back, two weeks in a row.
But i'm down to 295!!!! Singing girl, woohoo!!! your dowwnnn!!!
Molly, girlfriend, you made your goal when i wasn't lookin!!! you rock!!!
ummgood, you can do it!!!! still remember to make good choices at Disney, the best you can...
tanyamoniq, not to be too sarcastic darlin, but my motivation and the kick in the butt would be the scary picture of myself in underwear on the refrigerator!
Or the other as pattkins is telling you is true. I'm 39 and have osteoarthritis and spinal stenosis. The first type of arthritis is wear and tear type. So imagine what the weight is doing to your joints in your back, knees. Trust me you do not want to go thru some of the procedures i've had to go thru in the last 4 years. So please take care of yourself!
Or do you have an outfit that you really want to get into? hang a pic of that, or some other goal you really want to do like after 20# get a manicure, you get the idea... remember girlfriend you can start over and you deserve to do this, you will feel better all the way around. It takes baby steps, but lets do it, cause you are not alone! The weight i've lost has helped take stress off of the joints.
alldolledup: i'm glad to hear you are seeing a doc about this, as i'm wondering if you have probs with your esphogus or hiatal hernia, could be any number of things. I don't claim to know the answer... Are you just throwing up after your workouts? Do you eat a heavy meal before working out, what type of workout are you doing? Are you drinking enough water, not getting dehydrated? are you lactose intolerant? Keep us all posted how you are doing....
Does everyone have a game plan for making it thru turkey day?![]()
Ciao til later,
Annie
Original Post by amk160:Does everyone have a game plan for making it thru turkey day?
Well, first of all, I am NOT having turkey on "Turkey Day!" I eat so much turkey now in "everyday life" ... that my idea of a holiday celebration definitely begins with EATING SOMETHING ELSE!
For me, dinner will consist of Yellowfin tuna sashimi in a great cucumber-tomato salad with Ponzu sauce, grilled baby asparagus, half an acorn squash .... yum! yum! yum!
I picked up some baby sweet peppers at Whole Foods today, and my plan is to halve them, (scoop out the seeds), pre-roast them with some fresh garlic, and then stuff each half with a 7-calorie Laughing Cow Light Gourmet Cheese Bite .... and then roast them some more until the cheese is all bubbly! Each one will be about 12 calories (7 for the cheese, 5 or so for the half pepper!) Won't that be a fabulous pre-dinner afternoon snack?
For lunch that day, I thought I'd make some garlic-infused fresh artichokes, and maybe some spicy pumpkin soup ..... oh, yes!!!
We will start the day at the park, feeding the duckies and the squirrels (which is a tradition Ron and I started when we got married in 2003!) This will be our fourth year of doing this!
Remember, it's a day to be THANKFUL (not turkeyful!)

This sounds like one of those lean cuisine ad's haha
Congrats on your Turkey Day plan. I probably will not be so lucky.
My inlaws only cook turkey one way and that is to deep fry it. So I am going to severly limit my portions. "It sure is yummy though"
Did anyone see the biggest loser last night. I thought it was probably one of the best shows of the season.
I'm not real fond of turkey, so I have ham instead, and a little stuffing. I've not been able to eat as much lately, so I'm thinking that'll serve me well. Self control is the key!
I'm down to 235! It's been exactly 1 month since I started, and I've lost 18.2 pounds! I only have 5 more pounds until my next mini-goal. :D I've even gone down a pant-size, but I can't afford to get new pants yet so that'll have to wait. Now I only have about 85 pounds to my ultimate goal, but at least only 70 pounds until I'm in a healthy weight range. I can't weight!
Well I found out that I was pushing myself too hard in my workouts. When I worked out Friday, Sunday and yesterday I took it easier and prolonged my workout, instead of trying to burn off a load of calories in an hour.
I dunno why but I was down to 229.8 last week, and now I'm back up to 234.5?! What is up with that?
I wish everyone luck with their Thanksgiving dinners, I'm glad mine was in October, now I can prepare for Christmas dinner!
<3 Jenn
Thanks for all of the advice. I will put it all together and utilize the support!! I've done pretty well this week, so I'm officially back on the bandwagon. Even after we had our Thanksgiving lunch here at work! Mmm... I love dressing. Mmmm... and my yeast rolls. But, as so many have said before, moderation is the key!
I did watch Biggest Loser last night. Kae has done an amazing job, but she's so tiny anyway it was just a matter of time before she stopped putting up big numbers. It was a shame though that she didn't win the whole thing, but I bet she'll be taking home the $100,000 at the finale. And that's not a bad chunk of change. As for who's left, if Neil wins I will throw up my dinner. Other than that, I don't have a strong allegiance to any of the others, but if I had to pick I'd say Isabeau for booting out Amy!!
I know... I'm so bad.
Y'all have a stress-free and Happy Thanksgiving!!!
YEA TONYA!!!
Jenn, I bet the numbers are one of those inexplicable aberrations. You'll be back down in no time.
Lots of big losers here! Congratulations to everyone for sticking with the plan.
I am having my own issues with that -- I'm feeling cravings for food unlike what I've had in the past 6 weeks. Hopefully it's due to TTOM. (I'm getting a little unpredictable in that department lately, so I'm not entirely sure.... Getting old stinks!) Anyway, I'm just trying to deal with things as they arise and not get too stressed.
Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating it!
However I will have my bf and his parents over for turkey dinner at my house before xmas.
So if anyone has a great recipe for cooking a turkey please pm me, because I've NEVER EVER made a whole turkey in my life!!!
I'm well below the 300lbs weight break now at 281lbs and happy with that. I'm still eyeing my goal for xmas which would have me lose another 11lbs by December 19! Not sure if I'll make it, it's quite agressive but then at this high a weight 2.75lbs loss a week is not unrealistic really.
I watched biggest looser too last night and Kae really did an amazing job with herself. I have no idea what the other contestants names are as I don't watch the show regularly.
Sabine-
Cooking a turkey is really easy. I use the cooking bags you can get in the grocery store, and follow the directions. Just sprinkle on some salt & pepper, plus sage or whatever seasonings sound good (of course, you can skip the salt if you want). Pop it in the bag, put it in the oven, and don't worry about it until about 1/2 hour before it's supposed to be done. Then start checking the temperature with a meat thermometer till it's up to temp. You can stick some celery, lemon halves, and/or onions in the cavity to keep everything moist, too. Truly it is easy. The hard part is carving the darn thing!
Oh, and the key to it all - don't forget to remove the giblets before you do anything else. They're usually in a bag in the big cavity. I forgot the first time I made Thanksgiving dinner for my MIL, and I was pretty embarrassed!
Sabine,
I bought a 15 lb. Turkey and I do what pattikins said. Rub it down with paprika, salt and pepper or any herbs, seasonings that sound good. Saute some onion and celery (in olive oil) and place it in the oven bag. Put a couple of tablespoons of flour in the bag as well and then put the turkey in. I use a Nesco roaster and cook it for 3.5 to 4 hours for the 15 lb. bird or until a meat thermometer register 180 in the thigh.
Oh, and I stuff it with a homemade wild rice stuffing. I got all these recipes on Allrecipes.com just type in turkey and stuffing to the search. It is a great resource for all kinds of cooking.
Molly- read your post and i started drooling on the keyboard...ha!!! that all sounds so good.....anything with garlic...ooooohhhh, i am going to have to try that idea with the peppers...sounds very yummy...
devbanana--Congrats!!! to get to 235! that is totally awesome!!!
, isn't that great to know that you are gonna have to get new pants, bet your next ones are gonna have belt loops! ha!
alldolledup-- i am so glad you found out what it was that was happening that was causing the getting sick after the workouts....ya had me worried girlfriend!, with all your workouts, you are building muscle, remember that muscle weighs more than fat...., could be salt intake.....?
I'm up 3# the last couple days, as of Weds and i'm thinking it is the increased salt intake on some of the foods i've had or so i hope, will find out tomorrow....dang cornbread stuffing...etc.. plus all the dang baking like Julia Child crossed with Martha Stewart last few days, ugh...!!!
if there is sodium in anything with me it goes right where it shouldn't!!!!!![]()
tanya-yeah....glad to hear it! (loud clapping)
pattikins--hang in there, with the whole cravings thing, you can handle it!
Hope everyone has a great weekend....
Annie
I think I have a serious addiction to hummus ... and I seem to have it EVERY day for breakfast on english muffins. I get LOTS of variety for lunch and dinner, but am perfectly content to eat the same breakfast for 1-2-3 weeks in a row.
Is this just me? Am I weird? Does anyone else pretty much stick with the same breakfast?
=^..^= MOLLY
Annie- Yeah, sodium is nasty stuff - too bad it tastes good and is in EVERYTHING!
I thought I was eating lower salt because I bought reduced sodium soups and didn't use it a the table. HA! Once I started really looking, I found out how much is in all those restaurant foods. OMG!!!!!! No wonder I was puffy! I can definitely tell when I've been making bad sodium choices.
Molly- I choose from about three different breakfasts - one oatmeal or cereal-based, one english muffin-based, one egg beaters based. Depends on how much time I've got or how hungry I am. I love breakfast, though. Don't know how people can get started without it!
JUST HIT MY MINI GOAL #1!
I am now 240 pounds, a pound below the mini-goal. 44 below when i started here and 85 below what i was last spring. :)
