Just thought I'd weigh in and bring us back to the top!

Hi Becky, welcome!

Alldolled, that's a lot of snow!

Tanyamoniq, woo hoo!

I'm just hanging out, eating vegetables.

=^..^= MOLLY

Wow, it's been a few days since I've been here.  Hope you all are having a good week. Laughing

I plateaued last week.  Not eating that badly, but not drinking enough water, I think, and maybe not enough exercise.  I'm trying to be conscious of those things this week.

Had hoped to be down to 230 by New Year's, but that's not looking likely right now.  I guess as long as my green trend line keeps going down that's the thing to pay attention to, right?

It's Tuesday night now, have a great Wednesday, everyone!

Saw this posted by vmcbutterfly and thought it was interesting!

"Food can put a strange trance over some people that no amount of logic or reasoning can push away."

I think I finally broke that trance. Can't really explain how. It just happened. Anyway, thought I'd share that!

It has been a long time since I have posted here.

Just wanted to check in to see how everyone was doing.

I am down to into the 280's & been at a standstill for the past 6 weeks or so, mainly because of my own doing & some health issues.   I will be fine & I WILL get back into the groove!!

Seems there is a lot of progress around this place!

I wanted to wish you ALL a very Merry Christmas & may all your dreams & wishes come true in the New Year!

Laughing

Hi All ! I started this week, with the stats below. I haven't lsot anything yet, but I'd love to join you all. Everyone here is so positive and encouraging!! I think I've finally found an idiot proof way to lose the weight with the tools on this site. I've been through every pill, fad diet and option out there and the thought of surgery terrifies me. So, here we go...Day three and I feel better already just because I'm doing SOMETHING!

starting weight (& day joined group): 335 Dec 20, 2007 Highest weight ever: 364 Mini goals: 299 byValentine's day Ultimate goal weight: 130 - 140 Plan: focus on portion control, keep logging/checking in at CC site for motivation, keep daily calories at 1600-1700, drink lots of water and start light activity on a regular basis.

Hey everyone. I'm also new here and am trying to lose 125 pounds. I'm 24 and 6'2" with a starting weight of 310. Trying to get down to my goal by my 25th birthday. I have over 10 months to do it. So I'm gonna give it my best shot. And I thank you all in advance for your support.

-Brett

down to 223! 6 pounds till goal 2 and 102 pounds lost :)

also, check out http://spaz.ca/cronometer/ sometime guys. great program

Well done, Slainna! Keep up the good work!

Hi Fairytale & Brett -- Here's wishing you great success on this weight loss journey!

I had good news from the doc's office today -- my cholesterol levels are all in normal range.  That's a big deal for me, and helps maintain my focus.

Awesome work Slainna! I'm so excited for you!

Pattikins, that's great! Talk about encouragement!

As for me, I gained 1.5lbs over the holidays ;(, I'm at 223.5 right now. It must've been the cake.

I'm off to the gym now to work off holiday treats!

<3 Jenn

I've gained a bit. I really did stay within my calorie deficit over Christmas, but, well I don't know what happened. I had a lot of sodium so that may be part of it. Also I just started exercising, and also I just raised my calories since I really wasn't eating enough before. It's probably a combination of all of these things, or at least I'm hoping. Hopefully it goes down soon.

Hi Everyone! I've been gone for a while and have now found my way back, and I'm so thrilled. I'm thrilled to see so much success and so many new people, and I'm really happy that you are all still here. I had a very tough few months and have gained some of my weight back. Starting in Aug I was forced to travel around the country for work, then the huge wedding in September, then the breast biopsy in Oct, Nov with NEGATIVE results on December 12 and now Christmas! I have spent the last two days holed up in my house with minimal contact just reconnecting with myself. Oh yea, I started the gym in October and got down to 256, which, but now I've gained 11 pounds since then! drat.

I have a couple of technical questions. If I want to keep my caloric intake at 1400-1700 per day, and I'm exercising about 400 per day, does that mean I should eat 1800-2100 per day?

Also, does it really matter if we eat after we work out at night? The only time I can work out is at 5:30-7 P.M or so, which means dinner is at 7:30 at best. I hate eating that late, but I find it is so hard to get all of my calories in before then. anyone with any tips on this will be great.

Thanks everyone.

I'm new here too and would love another forum to join! My story is a lot like fairytale's in that I've tried SO many things, but this time I know there is no quick and easy way to do it. I've started and I finally feel like this is the last time I try to lose the weight. Here's the stats!

SW: 286.4

CW: 281.2 (After 11 days)

GW: 160? When I'm this heavy and have been for so long, I don't know what that will look or feel like...

Mini Goal: 250 by St. Patty's day.

I'm eating around 1200-1700 calories per day and working out every day. I do strength training and cardio...I'm up to 40 minutes on the elliptical doing the "interval" workout! It's been okay so far, I'm just worried about what happens when I start work on the 7th too...I won't stress until then though....

Hi Countit & Danibelle!

Sorry that I don't have the answers for you, Countit, but I bet you can find info if you search on the forums.  I have read some info about trying to finish eating at least 2-3 hours before bed, and I generally try to do that, but I don't know for sure if it helps....

I've had a high weight for along time, too, Danibelle.  I started trying in earnest to lose on Oct 4 this year, and so far I've lost about 20 of the 100# I want to lose.  Right now I've stopped losing very fast, but I'm trying to keep a good perspective, and I know I'm healthier than I was, even after only 3 months!

I am looking forward to being in "normal" weight range, and seeing how that will feel!

I want to join this forum, I am new and have 100+ to lose.  I am starting at 238 and I am 5'2".  I wasn't exactly sure how to join.  The idea of hearing how other people deal with the ups and downs of losing weight is great.

Susan
