I am so far away from my goal, it is not at all humorous. LOL

  7. PlanMORE OUTPUT THAN INPUT. This plan is working since Nov 2007. Count Calories (1500) calories most days. Work out 6 days a week. I have only been hitting my ideal calorie intake about fifty percent of the time but I am faithful to my workout schedule. I have had losses every month since I started this plan. Fifty pound gone and I can see a thin person in my future for the first time in a very long time.

  6. Plan: . my plan is eating 1500 calores per day and to do some type of physical activity. i don't have any medical condition. Why the change this time? because i have the mind set... I just need more will power. any suggestions??????

You mentioned will power. Do you know what caused the weight gain? Are you hungry a lot or are you an emotional eater like me? If it's simply hunger, water, fiber pills, filling-but-low-cal snacks, and cooking from scratch help (since home-cooked is almost always more filling). Breaking emotional eating is much harder. What I've been doing for that is trying to reduce stress, exercise more to burn off some of the unintentional calories, calorie count -every single thing I eat- (because I'll emotional eat less if I'm ashamed of eating that much), distraction (from food and from stress), and, since I know I tend to overeat about 300 calories every evening (your number may be different), I cut out that many calories during the day. Also, if you plan your meals and snacks in advance (with a few hundred for wiggle room), the temptation will be reduced.

For sweet cravings, I recommend slowly sucking on a hard candy. For salt, this has been harder for me to find low-calorie snacks. Wheat thins might work if you're very very careful and actually count how many you're eating and eat them slowly. Eat a serving or half a serving. Also, tomato soup is 50 cal a cup and cabbage soup is 48 cal a cup. Popcorn is also nice. Unseasoned it's 10 cal a cup. Buttered, it is between 40 and 60 cal a cup, depending on the brand. Low-fat buttered falls somewhere in-between.  Again, though, you have to measure them. I like scooping it into a small bowl or putting it into a sandwich bag to go.

I've been battling my weight all my life,  I think I eat for everything, when am stress, bored, angry, and to be social. In the past I have had a  hard time figuring out if am eating because I am hungry or because the food is just there. I have felt like if I don't eat it I am missing out. I been working on controlling my portions and choosing the healthier options. Before I was always looking for a quick fix. I tried: fad diets, diet pills, and even drugs. And I got thin with the drugs, but I lost a lot more then just the pounds, I lost control of my life. Thank God, i got pregnant, I stopped the drugs and had a baby because that what saved my life, but with the baby I gain all the weight back and then some more. So over a period of five years i have gained 100+ pounds. Finally this year I realized I can't rely on a quick fix to lose the weight, I need to do a life style change. I need to control what, when, and why I eat. I just need the support of people who are struggling just like me and have some positive input. Thanks for listening.

Plan: Eat healthy and excercise and make this a way of life - keep sodium below 2500, eat between 1300-1600 calories, start getting serious about weight training when I reach first goal weight but until then focus on walking.  And not quit logging calories and excercise because I got down to 242 in 2006 then quit.  I cannot quit. But the good thing is this time my food quality is much better for the same calories - before it was just calories now it is fiber and vegetables, and fruit and lean meats and tofu etc. I am too old [52] to mess this up anymore and have too much living to do.

  1. starting weight (& day joined):  262 - 266 pounds (not sure), january 25, 2008 (registered earlier to play with the site). On he day of writing this, ie May 16, 2008 i am 212 pounds
  2. Highest weight ever:  262 - 266
  3. Mini goals:  i do not really have them. Just ravelling the road to my ideal weight
  4. Ultimate goal weight: 134 to 141
  5. Plan:  walk every day, add more exercise as i go. log everything, get to the ideal weight in 2009 and do not become overweight again in the future

3. mini goals: I would like to reach 110 lbs again by Next October. Atleast that is what the calculator thing said on my account.

4. Ultimate goal weight: 110lbs.

5. Plan: Exercise atleast 3 times a week walking, situps, cleaning. Eat right. I also have a Deal a Meal  cards that my grandma gave me to help me eat right amount portion of foods. So I'll use that as well and use Slim-Fast products.
