Is it too late to join you all?
- Starting Weight (& day joined): 260ish (September, 11th, 2007)
- Highest Weight EVER: Same maybe up to 265 when I didn't look
- Mini-Goals: 1st Goal Weight: Scale shows a 249 or less 3 days in a row :)
- ULTIMATE Goal Weight: A HEALTHY weight. Officially. Whatever that is. 100 lbs would be nice that would make 160ish.
- Plan: Keeping myself accountable. My husband sounds supportive this time around. I have some more spare time as well at least for now. I plan to focus on food first and slowly work into exercise. Its hard to do much of anything at this weight.
- starting weight: 256 (7/23)
- Highest weight ever: 256
- Mini goals: 200 by Xmas.
- Ultimate goal weight: right now, 175. Once I get there, I will re-evaluate.
- Plan: Eat healthy, keep my calories around 1700 average, exercise 6xweek (m/w/f jog & weights, t/th spin class & abs/core). Drink more water!
Thanks for the "hoorahs" vicki330 and renastar23!
So far today I've had 8 cups of water, and still haven't had dinner yet.
The reason why I drink so much water is because it's either that or diet soda, and for the most part aspartame isn't appealing. I'd rather go for the clear stuff! I drink water at almost every meal, and also while i'm in class, and at the gym, on the bus, etc!
--------------------------------------------- ------------------------
Today has been somewhat stressful for me. I've been pissy and moody because I haven't eaten much actual food. Breakfast I had miniwheats with skim milk and an apple. But for my snack/lunch/snack I was at school so I brought a protein bar, and a meal replacement shake and some almonds. I am SO hungry! I just don't want to give in to the temptations available to me on campus.. pizza, fries, beer, and more.
I hope everyone had a better day than me!

Welcome to all our new people :)
I've been trying to figure a nickname for me... I like Goldy or Goldie! Good idea Vicki :)
Was reading Vicki's journal and it got me thinking about how/when I really started to make this a permanent lifestyle change instead of a diet ~ and how I plan to avoid quitting....
someplace I read someone say "i'm wearing too much food"
um, yeah! that is me especially in the swimsuit :::goes blind at the thought::: ;)got some negative test results back in 2004 and made a couple of stabs to lose weight and failed miserably. Just like my whole diet history. Even though the intense desire and abject misery were ever present, i never figured out how to push through.
I'm still working on changing that. For me, it is boiling down to making a daily committment to change because I am important enough. I really need to, even if I don't always want to because the irrational part of me is pitching yet another tantrum.
I think that will be when the committment is most important.
Gotta make this a daily committment. It's too easy to walk away, and when I walk away, it takes a long time to come back and try again...
...jumps onto the forum
hands out cups of Italian Ice to everyone
(lemon or cherry...take your pick!!)
& then goes back to reading an inspirational book!
Enjoy!! Wishing everyone a great Wednesday!!!
peace & hugs & luv... ~Vicki
Hi Everyone. Thought I would jump on and say that I have FINALLY found a mother of the bride dress for my daughter's wedding on Sept 29. I have been looking for at least 4 months, in two cities, big cities, Minneapolis and Phoenix, on line, in every department store and boutique I can find. Size 22 for me at the moment. One of the problems was she wanted a light colored dress, so that limited everything. Still, there were plenty of adorable styles to choose from in the Misses sizes, but my size, forget it.
GoforGold, I loved your post. it really does come done to just deciding to make a different choice. i also agree that it becomes self motivating. I love the calories needed to lose xxx amount within a certain amount of time. I put in 240 today by my daughter's b'day on 11/17 and it gave me an amount that I already eat!! It's so dooable...at least at this moment that's how it feels.
I hope everyone is doing alright. Remember, thoughts become things, so choose good one.
Are you drinking enough water?
Have you tried adding ice?
A lemon wedge?
A sprig of fresh mint?
Putting it in a festive glass?
Drinking it hot?
water water water water water water water water water water water .....
You are getting VERY thirsty ...... ![]()
Goldy - that's right you are worth, so am I, and so is everyone else on this board!
count - it - congratulations on finding a dress. Clothes shopping is still a dreaded activity for me!
I have to tell about my little proud moment. We went to the local playground last evening, and I had the desire to try the hang on and slide across thing (anyone know what I am talking about?). Anyway, I haven't been able to do it before. Last night I did it three times. Couldn't believe I was holding my own weight! DH mentioned that the last time I tried was last October (70+ lbs heavier and totally out of shape).
Molly- I'm a die hard water drinker, but never thought of adding mint! We have mint growing wild in the backyard, I'll have to look for some today.
*yay* for finding clothes! It's so much harder finding something. The stores just don't carry much decent stuff over size 18 or 14 in a lot of stores. grrrr. It's either lots more, poorer quality fabric, ugly prints or cuts. I'm SO SICK OF SHOPPING FROM A CATALOG.
~ looks around. did i say that???
well, I am. I would give my right arm to have good quality cute clothes available for the same prices as everyone else.
goldie: You have it in you to make this a daily commitment. You are important enough!
vicki330: thanks for the italian ice!
count-it: Clothes shopping is a love/hate thing for me. It's awesome that you found the perfect dress for your daughter's wedding! You must be so proud ![]()
molly dearest: I've been chugging away! At least 12 cups a day plus! (Great suggestions by the way)
ajjciir: I still find it hard to hold my own weight, but wow, GREAT for you!
renastar23: chug a lug darlin'!

If you don't have to piddle every few hours, you are not drinking enough water!
OOoooo .... can I say "piddle" in this thread? ![]()
piddle! piddle! piddle! piddle! piddle!
For the person from this thread who PM'd me and asked if they could just put toothpaste in their water instead of a mint leaf, let me just say .... ICK.
glug glug glug glug .... go drink some water!

=^..^= MOLLY (lifting others up is the best exercise there is!)
Hi! This is soooo cool! Just joined yesterday and I can't wait to get my first response from someone. Anyone, please!! J/K :)
Starting weight on CC: 371.1lbs
Highest EVER: 387lbs
Mini Goal: 2lbs at a time! Hoping for 2lbs every two weeks
What else was I supposed to write? Oh well, glad to know you!
Hi...I'm saintlymama and I'd love to join.
Starting weight: 168
Date joined: Sept 2007
Highest weight: 275
First weight goal: 240 by Christmas 2007
Ultimate weight goal: 100 lbs...I'd be thrilled to be 175 lbs. We'll see from there...
Plan: Using the glycemic index to watch all carbs since I have PCOS and and trying to conceive and increase my good fat/lower my bad fats. Plus...drink more water! Also working out 3x week.
i DO have to piddle every couple of hours, even though i only drank 88 ounces. Maybe its because im so used to NOT drinking water.. dunno. Here's a question.. does arrowhead sparkling water count towards my water consumption? there's no sugar, sodium, etc in it.
