i count alternative liquids
Thanks united2gether for the resources. I checked out the number of glasses/cups I need a day. It's 15! I MIGHT get 6 on a good day, so I'll bet if I up that I'll feel sooo much better.
all of you are so terrific. thanks for responding about my mother of the bride dress. i bought shoes for it tonight.
I'm going to drink my 15 cups of water tomorrow, yikes! I'll see how I feel. I hope I get some work done with all of the piddling :-) (cute go4gold)
Welcome Saintly Mama!
I've been reading this water thread and feeling guilty. I remember the water mantra from Weight Watchers and try to get in plenty, but I don't count and probably get less than the 64 oz. daily now. I recently moved from the Great Lakes region to San Diego area and realized that I have to (and want to) drink a lot more out here. I also have read in a couple of places that studies are showing that one doesn't need quite so much water as was thought, so I drink when I'm thirsty, when I'm hungary, and when I'm nervous. I just splurged on Pellagrino to take the place of the wine I have been drinking at night.
But, the enemy lurks everywhere! I'm in a warm-up phase for the South Beach diet (trying to lose that belly fat) and so am watching the sugar (a very good idea for me anyway, I have hypoglycemic spells). This morning I had a V-8 and, when I logged it in, saw the caution about the amount of sugars in it. Then I checked the can...11 grams in 8 ounces. Yikes! I knew it was high in sodium but was totally caught unaware by the sugar grams. Thank goodness for CC, but the lesson to me is check and recheck labels.
Everyone sounds so upbeat and it is a pleasure to read entries for this forum. I think this is the 5th day for me and I've had some significant changes: (1) I have lost weight (I weigh daily, but don't count the loss until my official weigh-in day - Monday); (2) I am experiencing a very significant increase in motivation as illustrated by me trying an actually prescribed diet...and the motivation is for me, not because of a guy or event, which in the past has been the usual motivation. I have to say, though, that 38 of the last 50 lbs I lost was for me because I had so much trouble with ankle pain and getting exhausted easily) (12 for the guy I loved and lost...thank heaven again); (3) I seem to be able to give up my evening wine, which was almost medicinal because I was drinking out of boredom and stress. I need to develop a variety of evening activities to keep out of this habit.
Good luck everyone, keep your spirits up. We are doing the right thing!
Welcome Saintlymama! I too am losing weight in the hopes of conceiving. I don't have PCOS, but have read alot about it. If you ever want to chat, send me a message sometime.
United - that's for the tip on the survey for the free pedometer. I was doing 10,000 steps a day program, but have lost or broken 4 peds since May! I took the survey, would really like to get back to counting steps again.
My official weigh in day is Thursday, so from now on that will be the day I post my weight. This morning the scale read 237.6 - Since I joined on the 8th that is 2.8 lbs.
Congratulations to all of you healthy water drinkers!!!
oooohhhh.. fricking co-workers brought in a huge box of noahs bagels, cream cheese, lox, etc. Must resist....

Hi there. My name is Tammy. Not sure if this is where I post this but, what the heck, I'm starting!
Starting Weight - 235.4
Highest Ever - This is it!! (Other than pregnancy)
Mini-Goals - I want to see my first 5 pounds go in 3 weeks
Ultimate Goal - 140/130
Plan - I am just taking this one day at a time. I just joined this morning, so I don't really have a full out plan yet. That is why I joined here. I guess my plan is to watch my calorie intake and follow that for now. Soon I will get back into some form of physical activity, and just go from there.
My husband is the one who told me about this site. He joined as well, but his goal is to gain weight. I know, we all wish we had his problem. But truthfully, he is just as insecure about his body as I am about mine, because he is underweight. He is my support and actually he is more motivated right now than I am. My hope is that with us working on our goals together, we can both stick to it. Anyway, wish me luck and I look forward to getting to know you all.
Tammy
welcome Tammy :)
Guess who's on cup # 12 of water!! yay... only 3 more to go:)

Hi ajjciir!
Welcome mommabear2i! Congratulations on your nice week! (Already down 4.5lbs). Keep up the good work!
Hey everybody! After reading more of your entries I decided it might be good for me to set some more serious kind of goals. It's kinda scary. I'm afraid that if I don't reach them I might become too discouraged. Maybe with your support that wont be the case!?

Highest Weight EVER: 387lbs (7/25/07) Down 16lbs!

Bye you guys! Tell me what you think.
LOL xoxoxo cmcole
I think your goal for January 2008 is reasonable. &nbs p; & nbsp; &nbs p; And keep on walking lady!
We're all here with ya. Keep It up.
As for the water challenge....
thanks to a water dispenser outage at work I was forced to buy my own water and I drank a solid 3 litres at work alone! Now that the dispenser is back on I'm still doing It... good things come out of every bad situation.. :)
cmcole - like sabineyvr said, it sounds like you have very reasonable goals. I'm sure you'll make that! We're all in this together and will do our best to keep you encouraged.
I just logged my cals for today and my sodium is really high. I better suck down some more water before bed. Of course, then I won't get a good night's sleep, cause I'll have to get up and "piddle."
Added the special celebrations & quotes up top

Jennytheveg ~ how's it going? Earlier this week you mentioned you were having a tough time...
cmcole ~ an after Christmas goal is a long ways, and it's difficult over the Holidays! You've got Moxie! Let me know if you set a shorter goal, like by Thanksgiving.
Not feeling so hot today & have the PMS munchies. It really helps to see everyone here!!! I'm with ya, but turning in early to bed. Of course, I may have to Piddle all night!!! Thanks to Molly! yeah, Molly, Gee Thanks ;)

Blue is me by the way, yes.
And everyone, what do you think about having a small status web page. It'd be easy to come up with one. I have plenty of extra web-space if we had a name I could probably even get us the domain. :) It could be an easy place for us to track our group's progress so that we don't have to keep typing longer and longer first posts.
