Hi,
I have been eating 1200-1300 calories a day for a month and i have only lost 2lbs. I am kinda sedentary except a couple days a week i walk and on those days i eat a little more. Anyone have any ideas on why I am not losing? I started at 170 and am 5'6 now a month later im only at 168. Someone help??? Thanks

If you have the time i would suggest adding more exercise and remember losing weight in a healthy way can take a little time but do not fret yo uwill get there. For me when i was losing weight it is much easier for me b/c i set small goals of weight to lose at a time. I knew ultimately i wanted to be 110 or around there so when i started i was close to 160. my first goal was 150 then 140 then 130 then 125, so on and on til i got to where i wanted to be 110. ;you can do it. keep the faith!!!!!
At 5'6" and 168, you aren't eating enough.
I don't know if this is why you aren't losing, since you've only been doing it for a month, but I wanted to warn you. According to an estimate based on an assumed age, you probably need to be taking in 1500-1600 calories to lose 1.5 lbs/week safely.
Try eating more. I know it doesn't always make sense, but... it works.

def. more excercise
I agree with the previous posters. You aren't eating enough calories for your height and weight, and you aren't exercising often enough. To lose weight, one should exercise 6-7 times a week. Being sedintary will not help your weight loss. Try to be more active in general, and add some more exercise.
Ok thanks guys since the weather is getting better Im gonna get of my butt and excercise more often and up my calories a bit too thanks for the advise :)
Are you drinking enough water? My weight loss slows way down or stops if I don't drink enough.
I finally splurged and bought a $5 1 liter bottle and drink 3 a day. The pounds started to melt off even at 1200-1400 calories; which many will say may be too low for my body.

By the way, I am pretty sedentary, 6 ft tall and started at 220 so many would say I am not eating enough calories.
Exercise, it works like magic ;] Take a walk 3-7 times a week, and you'll see change. Also monitor your fat intake.
Exercise is definitely the key. I kept my calories in between 1200-1500 every day and just went to the gym 3-4x a week and lost 18lbs in a little over 3 weeks.
Also be sure to drink lots of water.
