Possibly possible, but not in a healthy way, no.

That's 15 lbs. a month, or about 4 lbs. a week.

Sorry.
Sorry but a healthy rate of weight loss is 1-2lbs per week. That gives me 24 pounds max by your goal.

24 pounds and some toning could make a great difference in how you look and feel though! Go for it!!
You are a medical student and asking this?
yes i am medical student right... but gotta lose weight desprate for it.....ooopssss
If you do it the healthy way, you may not lose 50 lbs by then, but it couldn't hurt to try!!

Just make sure you're doing it the right way.  Not by starvation or extreme dieting.

What have you got to lose?
50 is too aggressive but use this site and ask all the q's here and we'll get you going in the right direction.

And for the record I lost 3 pounds each of my first 4 weeks on this diet.  A lot of it was water weight because I switched to drinking mainly just water all day.

Some general tips:

You need to eat AT MINIMUM (I'm assuming you're a guy)...

1500 calories + the calories you burn exercising + some more if you are on your feet all day (none extra if you are behind a desk most of the day or sitting around).

I've lost 18 pounds in the last 7&1/2 weeks.   You can as well.

Water... switch to just drinking water.  Do not drink softdrinks, lots of caffiene, or fruit juices or whatever.  YES do drink some milk with breakfast but most of your drinks in the day should be water if you want to help yourself shed the weight.

For exercise, doing the learning to run program on the exercise forum could help greatly in giving you a boost.   There are calculators out there for figuring out how many calories you burn for the exercise based on your time, distance & weight... however you could buy a heart rate monitor with a chest strap so you could monitor this more closely and prevent yourself from under eating or over eating thus maximizing the weightloss.

Stress though is a killer to weightloss.   So is underating.  If you eat too little you'll stall out on the weightloss.   So be sure to eat those 1500 calories + what you burn exericing + more if your lifestyle isn't behind a desk/sitting.

EDIT:

Also taking a multi-vitamin and a separate Fish Oil (Omega-3) will help you as well.  The fish oil more than anything.
just do it the right way.

you will lose about 24 real pounds..and then theres the waterweight thing that could add another 10 to your loss.

thats only 15 pounds short of your goal.

lose too fast and you get all flabby and your skin looks like crap.

and anyway..if you are overeating now..that will change right away by a fast loss of about 5 pounds.

you can ALMOST do it and do it right..
just go with that and some working out.
you will love the results.
:)
i say you can do it. how tall are you btw? if you really watch what youre eating and work out consistantly everyday for at least and hour. recently i was able to lost 10lbs a month being a slightly overweight to normal weight BMI classification. so depending on where your at and where your BMI is you can lose 50 lbs. because of course people with more weight to lose, lose more quickly simply because they have more to lose. if youre closer to an ideal weight i would say 1-2 pound loss is better because you dont want to lose muscle.
All I know is that I lost 50 pounds in 3-4 months. But I have to admit that it was an unhealthy way to do it. I totally eliminated carbs and did fast pace walking everyday rain or shine.  To top it off its really hard/unhealthy keeping all carbs out of your diet. Do it the rite way and it'll pay off in the long run.  GOOD LUCK!
you can do it.. its not impossible.. at a little less than 15 lbs a month is totally do able. good luck. :)
nicensweet, that's how I did it too. After having my first daughter I lost about 55 pounds in 3 1/2 months. So it is possible, just not healthy
How did you lose what you have already lost?  You look great!  I'm guessing you've been exercizing a lot, because it looks like more than 50 lbs of loss - maybe you don't really need to lose as much as you think.

You're lucky - you're a guy and guys lose faster! I think you can do it...just eat healthy and exercize.
I lost 65 lbs. in 4 months, (50 lbs exactly on my 3 month anniversary) with nothing extreme.  I've been eating approximately 1300 calories a day and walking 3 miles 4-5 times per week.  The walk takes me just a little over an hour, nothing strenuous, and I'm not starving.  I just eat much healthier than I used to.  Lots of veggies, whole grains, lean meats, fish, fruit, etc.  However, I started at a much higher weight (320) than you are now so I'm not sure how that would average out.  I'm at 247 now (started Jan. 8, so 72.5 in 4 1/2 months) and I'm still averaging 3 lbs a week or so.
