FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE LOST 200LBS OR MORE CAN YOU PLEASE SHARE WITH ME WHETHER OR NOT YOU HAVE A LOT OF LOOSE SKIN. IF NOT WHAT DID YOU DO TO TIGHTEN YOUR SKIN DURING WEIGHT LOSS. I HAVE TO LOSE 220LBS AND I HAVE LOST 63LBS SO FAR. I GO TO THE GYM 3-6 TIMES A WEEK AND I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF I SHOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT ALOT OF LOOSE SKIN.

How old are you and how long have you been carrying around the excess weight?

Those are a few factors that will determine how much loose skin you will have.

I've lost more then 220 pounds so far (strictly through eating right and exercise), and I have excess skin that can only be removed by surgery.  But I'm nearly 50 and carried the excess weight for more then 20 years so the elasticity in my skin is shot.  (See my profile pic showing the excess skin on my upper arm)  I hit the gym a minimum of five days a week but even that won't make the skin snap back into place.

By the way, great job on losing those first 60+ pounds!  That's wonderful!

Here are my stats....Starting weight: 17yrs and 265lbs (@ high school graduation). Currently: 24yrs and 137lbs.

I lost 125lbs and I have a lot of loose skin. I am fairly young (24) so most people told me not to worry and that the skin would firm back up but sorry to report that it has not. ONE VERY IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: People told me when I first started working out to lift weights, but I was very stubborn and wanted to lose all the weight first. I can look back now and say that I wish I had listened but I try not to live with regrets and instead focus on the bigger picture (that I am much healthier now). I must admit that it gets in the way of my self-esteem. Everyone around me tells me I can see what they don't. Anyway, good luck...I wish you nothing but the best!

I had close to 100 to lose and ive lost 66 pounds so far and i already have loose skin.

Im male and 28 years old by the way

Keep hydrated, water water water...WATER!!! i can't tell you enough..also weight training helps a lot too.. If your only doing cardio workouts then you will have loose skin, toning your muscles is essential to preventing loose skin.. also vitamin E is really good for skin, if you keep hydrated and take care of your skin then it should start following your weightloss shortly

also if your losing weight way too fast then you aren't giving your skin enough time to catch up with you

2-3 pounds a week is good and will let your skin keep up

good luck! and grats!
