10-15 LBS - Need help staying on track, all welcome to join!
I'm 25, newly married and am putting on weight. I got down to my ideal weight right before my wedding but the day after I went back to my old habits.
I need to lose 10-12 lbs and would like to post my meals each day and get any advice etc. Anyone who wants to join, feel free. This is the only way it works for me and this is how I lost the weight before!
Good LUCK!

Sounds wonderful to me. I was doing this a little while with some other girls but the challenge ended and I stopped. I am 5'4", 26, and weigh 128. Am trying to get down to 115 so roughly 10-13 pounds to go. I started out at almost 160 so I am really happy with this weight and it seems harder to lose now. Oh and congratulations on your marraige!!
What you have planned today sounds wonderful and delicious. My meals have been slightly akward because I am trying to up my fiber and protein intake...especially the protein on resistance days. It helps my soreness.

I'm so happy you both joined! This really keeps me motivated... :)
What do you guys do for workouts? I'm not a gym person and never will be.
I'm not either. I play with my dog, Salsa Dance a couple times/week, and will turn on music and rock out while at home. I know there's not much strength building in there, but I actually have a fair amount of muscle on me and don't really want much more. I actually want less muscle on my legs :\
Oh, I also count housework, cause i'm usually chasing my dog and running around the apartment going back and forth between chores :P I'm a little ADD, hah!
I got married a year and a half ago..and I swear..when we started dating the weight came on quickly. Why? Dinners out, movies, beer...then after we married, me cooking again...and not going to the gym ! Marriage is fattening. Happy fat? I am ready to get rid of it !
I want to lose 15 lbs. My biggest challenge is eating. I have never been very discplined with my eating. I never kepp up a diet for more than a couple of days. I eat way too much sugar too. The other challenge has been that I have two young kids, a fulltime job and my husband is mostly out of town so I have little time to workout. I think I have a solution though, I will be using my lunch breaks to get a workout. There is a gym across the street. So that's good news. I am hoping that this site will help me actually stay on track this time.
Exercise? I took up running (treadmill) a while back and really found a liking for it. Never ran a day in my life but my b/f recommended it so I did a modified C25K program and really enjoyed it. I am currently doing a 16 week program to try and increase my 5k time. I do that ex a week and then do resistance training the other 2. But I am also not a gym person so everything I do is in home.
So, I had to change my dinner last minute because we really didn't have time for the casserole. But I still didn't go over calories. We just had some tuna pasta with whole wheat. Correction: I had tuna pasta with whole wheat bread....I made pancakes and turkey bacon for the gentlemen (toddler and b/f) in the house.
I can definately relate to food being the real problem. I don't have a problem exercising but I do not snacking and overeating. And I call the 'happy fat' 'contented fat'. Basically the same thing. My b/f gained a bunch of weight while I was pregnant. We were just so content with everything and I was under doctor's orders to gain since I was so underweight when I got pregnant. He started losing weight last year. 100 pounds later and he looks soooo good. Actually slightly thinner than when we met. Very fit. I am just trying to get there but it seems so much harder for me. He did work really hard though.
It is just so easy to fall into a bad routine of not really caring what you eat. Hope everyone stuck mostly to their plan today!
Hi! I'd love to join this group! I have about 10 lb to lose, which I hope will come off by the time March 16th comes (March 16-21 = one week holiday starts and my mom promised she'd buy me unlimited amounts of clothing in those holidays if I get a better figure).
CW: 118 lb
GW: 108 lb
So how is this going to work? Do we come in weekly to report our progress (or something)?
Firstly, congrats on your wedding!
I'm an inch shorter than you, but go back and forth in your weight range all the time. Over the past 7 months, I've lost about 10 pounds (yay!) and went from 146-ish to 135.
I think what a lot of women don't realize (and I'm only 22, so maybe I don't realize it yet either) is that after 25, your body fat doubles and if you don't exercise, on average you will gain 1 pound a year. So essentially, weightloss becomes harder with age. So frustrating! I mean, I think the only thing you can do is watch what you eat and exercise daily.
Hi,
I need this group so much. I am taking my weight loss 10 lbs a time. I started my diet today.
I am 5'6'', 210lbs. I have made a deal with myself, if I lose the 40lbs I am going to have a tummy tuck.
B- 12oz orange juice - 150cal.
L- 1cup lettuce chopped
1 cup tuna - 386
D- 3oz lean hamburger patty, 2 slices 7 grain bread, lettuce -318
total 753
I will have some fruit for a snack later. Should bring me to about 1000. Tomorrow I am trying for 1200.
livseyam4- I just wanted to say since you started your diet today and I would really hate to see you make the same mistake I did: you've got to make sure you eat enough. Your metabolism will slow down and your body will go into starvation mode. I didn't know how old you were but I googled your BMR with your height and weight. You really should eat about 1700 calories per day and that is bare minimum. Like if you don't exercise or anything. And CC has some really good tools to find out how many cals to eat with what activity level and stuff. But it's just advice. If you lose weight with the 1200 then that's great! I just don't want your body to freak out like mine did at first until I upped my cals. I hope I didn't step out of line with suggestions. Sorry if I did. Good Luck.
Hello Everyone!!
First of all, I am new here =) and I am hoping to lose 15 pounds by my wedding day which is in april , I have never done the Calorie-count thing, but I am really excited about starting and motivated since I want to look my best at my wedding! anyways, any suggestions? I read the comment above me about eating enough? I really dont know how many calories I supposed to eat, but I am trying to keep it under 1500 a day. let me know if you have any suggestions, I am glad to be part of the group since we are all here for the same reason... good luck to all!!
Weight: 140lbs
Goal: 125lbs
Height: 5'5
Well, I actually over (or is it under) achieved today. I only got in ~1000 calories and I'm really full. I think that since company will be in town this weekend, I won't worry about eating while full (bad habit anyway) and I'll feel less guilty about those glasses of wine I know I'll have this weekend!
Amazingly I got all the fiber, vitamins, and protein I needed for the day. Maybe that's why I'm full so early?
Already have my food planned, packed, and cooked for tomorrow and I'll def be over 1200! All I gotta do is microwave it :)
Time to do chores then go to bed. Do chores count as exercize? Mopping and Vaccuming totally should!
Edit: Also, I don't really know how the group thing works, but maybe we should start one of those and have a thread for meals, thread talking about exercize, thread asking for reccomendations?
carlynj21,
You didn't step out of line at all. I had gastric bypass almost 11 years ago, hence the want of a tummy tuck. This past year and a half has been horrible. I have had 3 surgeries, diagnoised with cancer (all fine right now). My husband got hurt at work and has had about a hundred (no joke) Dr. Appts. My father was diagnoised with cancer in August and passed away in November.
I am not telling anyone this to feel sorry for me because I have a wonderful life now. I am working on raising my calories to help the metabolism, that has been part of the problem. Also I do high impact aerobics 4-5 times a week for an hour.
I am 43 years old. Any advice is 100% welcomed.
Cheryl
This is great=) I never can stay modivated with dieting..and I think this is something that can finally keep me on track. Im 20, 145lbs. and 5'4. I've always been pretty content with my body, however, being in college I feel that I have gained more than I should have. I'm wanting to get down to 125-130lbs by my friends wedding at the end of march..and I know if i cut out sugar, my starbucks coffee drinks, and my late night snacking, i'll be good to go. Thanks for creating this..and I look forward to documenting here =)
I personally don't enjoy the groups, I find them to hard to keep track of. What I did to lose before was created a forum like this and we just posted our meals/exercise everyday and gave advice and encouragement to others. Then we weighed in every Monday - I chose monday because it helped me stay focused on the weekend (my downfall) because I knew that I had to post my weight here for all to see! So next Monday will be the first one.
Today's Menu
B: 1 cup of almond crunch cereal, 1 cup skim milk, tangerine (310)
S: Banana (~45)
L: 1 slice of 12 grain toast, 1 tbsp of pb, big bag of carrots, 2 tbps of hummus (~250)
S: Cran-apple sauce unsweetened (100)
D: 1 baked pork chop, 2 baby red roasted potatoes, big salad (~400)
S: 1 cup of less fat ice cream topped with blackberries and raspberries (~180)
A little low today but I'm sure I'll sneak a chocolate or 2 here at work
~1285
Good morning!! I agree I really don't need another group to keep track of. Especially another challenge. I have enough right now but none of them have menu posting and I find if I do this, then actually log it all in the morning then I eat just that.
B: Fiber Plus Bar, Special K (267)
S1: Prunes, 1/2 ounce cheese (150)
L: BLT on whole wheat, pineapple (450)
S2: PB and Crackers (150)
D: Stuffed pepper casserole and salad (450)
That's about 1450 so I will probably have to eat some extra fruit or something today because its a hard workout day and my calorie goal is 1800.
astrick- You are not far off from where I started in September. I was 140, same hieght and 25. I have managed a 12 pound loss with CC. This is a great site and there are lots of people willing and ready to answer your questions.
livseyam4- First I am sorry for all the problems. When it rain it pours but at least things seem a little clearer right now? Second I am not sure with the gastric bypass how your metabolism is. If you need less or more calories or anything? You sound like you work out quite a bit, too. If you have the time, I would start a thread in weight loss, give your stats and there are a few people (usually CC moderators or the great informer GI-Jane) who will always answer questions to the best of their ability.
bridetobe- Congratulations on the engagement! There are great tools with CC if you go through the whole process on you calorie target. Depending on your activity level and such but 1500 does sound about right for height, weight. Good luck!
My weigh in's have been set for friday's, since that's when I took my starting weight :) I have this really awesome spreadsheet and charts linked in my profile where i enter my daily deficit's and my weeky weight and it's calculating expected losses and graphing it next to real losses, then another chart that only shows my weekly weights. I like to use the chart on CC to show my "good" weights, haha!
The radio station's morning show here was asking about people doing diet plans after the holidays and I called in and told them about CC, so they want to check in with me and see how long it takes me to reach my goal (or if it's even possible! Little do they know it totally is) so I created a google doc that they could look at :)
Yeah, small town's don't have much to talk about besides people losing weight. I've also won prizes on the morning show twice now cause no one's really calling in, haha!
Here's my plan for the day:
B: Toast with jelly, yogurt, coffee, vitamins
S: Cherries(they totally had some ripe ones in town from chile!!), apple
L: Chicken Stew
S: Apple sauce, cheerios, celery
D: Veggie soup (low cal and HUGE portions!)
If I'm still hungry at the end of the day I might have a 100 cal portion of tomato soup or some beef boullion. I find that sometimes hunger is more about just wanting a different taste in your mouth or thirst.
Overall it's 1250-1350 calories. Not too bad :) I've already lost some water weight and feel less bloated, plus I took my starting weight when it was that TOM to make me feel like I was accomplishing something soon (I know it's cheating, but it totally works!!)
Good day all,
B-grilled chicken salad with 1 TBL ranch dressing
L- grilled cheese sandwich. Whole wheat bread 2 ounces cheddar cheese.
Snack-1 orange
Not sure about dinner yet
I will be weighing in on Monday's since that is when I started.
Cheryl
What a fab group!
I'm 27, 5ft 9 and weigh 156lbs. I was supposed to start my healthy eating when I reached 150lbs but hey ho!
I am aiming for 140lbs but a toned 146 would make me happy!
There is not enough space to write what I ate today - last supper mentaility as kick starting with a detox day (any longer just seems like torture) and see where I get to.
Good luck to you all!
