5'7 160 lbs- need a motivation buddy!
I'm 20 years old and weigh 160 lbs at 5'7. My goal is to somehow get down to anywhere between 135-130 lbs. I'm having the hardest time finding the motivation, i'm surrounded by friends who are naturally thin and wont go to the gym with me because they don't have to! so unfair! but if theres anyone out there who's in my similar position, we can keep each other motivated!
wow im 5' 8" and i currently weight 166...at 18 yrs old this is my heaviest ever...same here with the motivation problem...I love to eat and my dad and sister are skinny and eat whatever they want. I get so jelous watching them eat oreos or ice cream...but whatever I think the key is to get past the first month. my mom just recently lost 30 lbs. she said after the first month she actually liked exersicing and how it made her feel. she actually has been less grumpy too...lol. but i thing we could motivate eachother...keep updates on your progress
Wow I could not be any closer to your situation!! I'm 18-years-old, 5'7, and I currently weigh 152 (though I weighed 161-162 when I first started). I recently had to put my diet on a hold because I was moving (for college). Luckily I held my weight because though I ate weird things while moving (like fast food, frozen things) I tried to mix in some vegetables and tried not to overindulge!
I have the same problems because all of my friends are stick thin and don't need excercise (they're all size 00-4)!! On top of that they complain about cellulite but they're thighs don't even touch when they're standing straight lol! I even have a friend who is 5'9 and weighs around 120ish who complains that her tummy sticks out when she wears shirts that fit right LOL.
I just want to be healthier, happier, and be able to excercise without dying in the first 5 minutes haha! :) My goal is also to be 130ish too!!
im down! i'm 5'6 and somewhere in the 155-160 range, 17 years old. Same goal weight as you, and going to college on the shore in the fall, not to mention freaking out! i would love to go to school in the best shape of my life and AVOID the freshmen 15 all together! <3
I'm the exact same! I'm 22, 5'7 and started at 160...I'm down to 154, but my goal is 135! All of my friends are pretty thin, but I'm currently in law school and law school doesn't help anyone's weight! You can do it!
Thanks for replying! I hope we can all keep each other motivated! I'm trying to go to the gym everyday, but don't really know what to do to make the most of my time there! i'm also trying to eat between 1200-1500 calories.
what are you guys doing to try and cut these lbs? i need advice!
Count me in as well! I'm 5'7" and 155, down from 160 and really would like to get to 140ish, lower would be nice though =). For the last couple weeks ive been making one meal a day some sort of salad, and also working out everyday and manual summer labor =-/.
Also, i've found that drinking lots of water actually helps you lose weight in the long run! While it may bump up your weight the next morning, by about noon the next day, its right back to where it was and you feel happier and more alert than if you hadn't drunk all the water!

Pretty much the same stats as everyone else, only 37, but compared to most of you...I am the old lady in the group! 5'7" and the weight depends on the day.
On Monday's I'm usually 159 or 160 and by Friday I am 156 or 157. Unfortunately it is TTOTM, but none the less, I have decided that this is the week I am going to make a significant difference.
Goal weight is 135 for now, but would really LOVE to be 130, someday!
Today I was 159...went to the gym and did the elliptical for 30 minutes, a few weights and crunches this morning and I will be doing two-a-days this week so I will also be going running either at lunch or when I get home from work.
