ok so im looking to lose the last of this weight before swim suit season is in full action!!!! ( i have this hot pink polka dot bikini i want to wear) I really have lost weight fairly easily since last fall but as i get closer to goal it is becoming harder. I would love to have some folks to keep eachother accountable and to be able to discuss any issues we might be having. I was thinking friday weigh ins as i like to eat on the weekends :P. A bit about me. Ive been working on weight loss pretty much all of my life. I have had 4 children with the last two 11 months apart and this has really done a number on my body. I have never been skinny but i was never over 200lbs. I now know that im done having children and am excited to have made a lifestyle change that makes me feel better as well as look better. for me the weight loss is only one aspect of it. Im stronger, faster, have more energy and feel good about myself. And all of these things are just as important. I can play tag with my kids and it feels great!!! But I will admit that itty bitty polka dot bikini is calling my name. ok so heres my stats.

Reason: Moved from Weight Loss forum to Games & Challenges forum after PMing OP, thanks!!

Well, weekend number one of this challenge is down and I think i found my problem! I DON'T EAT on the weekends! During the week I have a very structured diet which helps me to eat when I need to and burn the proper amount of calories. On the weekend this isn't the case at all! Saturday I woke up and ran 6 miles, then proceeded to do yard work until 2 in the afternoon at which time I ate half of a sandwich and went to run errands for the day. I got home and got ready and went out with friends. The only thing I ate Saturday night was some cinnamon bread sticks! Then on Sunday i ate dinner only! I kept telling myself I needed to eat, but I get pre-occupied and doing other things and I can't remember to actually go eat. I know that sounds weird, but I think it's a detriment to my diet to not eat on the weekends. I'm twice as active as on a normal day yet eat a third of the calories! I need to remind myself to keep my diet in full swing even on weekends!

Hello ladies (and gents)!

I would really like to join your challange. My birthday is July 5th and that was my personal goal to reach my goal so that we can try to have kids!

I have noticed that a lot of you are about my height and are shooting for weights in the 130's. I have been over 200lbs my entire adult life, and I am ... Compact. do you think I should shoot for a lower goal? I always thought that 165 would look nice on me, Now I wonder if I will still be too heavy.

Your goal needs to be YOUR goal. If you think you'd be comfortable at 165, then go for that! It is a personal choice. Depending on your height and build CC+ determines a healthy goal range. I know that I have been thicker my entire life and am finally getting down to the smallest size I've been since I was in junior high! I set my goal based on my BMI and what I think I can do. So I think it's a personal goal!

welcome sharlynorton, raestridge, justdoitt!!!! Glad to have more support here...Yayyyyyyy...

sharly....glad that you noticed that about the weekends. not eating can really be just as harmful as eating too much...(damn you cant win or lose sometimes...lol) I know i get busy and have such a tough time getting a chance to eat...especially with 4 kids and sometimes im just not tired you know...but eating is important...hope that noticing that will help you in your weight loss, which im sure it will.

Raestridge... I agree with the previous poster your goal is your goal and what you will be comfortable with. Each person is built differently and carries it in different ways. And if all else fails when you reach your goal and dont like the way you look you can lose more...or if it works then great...maintenance it is.

To all of ya...I am glad i had a good day...worked hard on lower body today....(im already sore and its not even the next day yet) I am really noticing a difference in my muscle tone and strength which is so awesome...lol...cellulite is gone!!!....still got some chubs left...but no cottage cheese...yayyyyyy....tommorow i think i will put the babies in the stroller and go for a run. I am doing great with the eating still... I think this being accountable thing is a blessing....yayyyyyyyy...how is everyone else?

GW:121 for july 4th

dear ladies, etcetera,

I ate too much shrimp at the mathematics conference so I biked up to Mont Royal cemetery and did some suggestive stretching maneuvers behind a big mausoleum.  I am a little sunburned, but tired, and happy.  the ring remains.  an irremovable reminder of my goals.  mercifully the scale moved:  164 --> 162.3.

welcome cutesy...glad to have you here with us!!!!

Julie...good job with the weight loss...the ring is closer to coming off..sausage fingers be gone....lol

Thanks sweety! and congrats on your weight loss Smile. I myself have been struggling with my weight ever since i can remember. The heaviest i got was 160. I did the Atkins diet for about 2 months and lost 30lbs..but then i started getting palpitations..so i stopped it.. I gained half of it back already. I'm hoping to do this now the right and healthy way by including exercise (been walking/jogging since Monday.. doing some aerobics every other day)

So far so good.. (since I can see my double chin slowly disappearing lol)..I started Sunday..i was 146. Havent weighed myself yet, I was going to weigh in this coming Sunday. But since i've joined you guys, i'll weigh in on Friday. I hope having a support group like this will help me stay on track with getting healthier.

THANKS CUTESY...I remember doing that atkins before I had my first child and I tell ya...I was messed up for that entire pregnancy. It just had so many side effects for me. Im glad that you are doing it the right way now and I will be here for any support you need. Sounds like a good way to go...I tell you the way i lost the weight so far was interval training. and working mmy way up to running. I can now run 2 miles easily and run 3-4 miles with a little more effort. It really helped get the pounds off...oh yeah...and I also make sure to do weights. So just some tips there for ya. !!! :)Looking forward to weigh in friday. Dont think im gonna make my goal of 2.25lbs lost for the week. But thats ok...a loss is a loss

I have my first real test of seeing if people notice I've lost weight. I'm going to a baby shower tonight for one of my friends from high school. The last time i saw most of these girls it was a year ago. I'm kinda nervous to go, but kind of excited to see them all. I am 40 pounds lighter than I was in high school, so we'll see if anyone says anything and if I resist all the yummy food that's going to be there. I think the positive motivation from having people notice and say something about losing the weight is a real motivational factor for me. If I feel like I'm working my butt off but no one notices, then what's the point right? I'll let you all know how it goes!

Sharly....I m sure that someone will comment...a lot of times people dont seem to want to comment because they dont want to say that you were fat before...but for me 40lbs was the magical number where everyone noticed. IM sure it will be great. I hope you have a great time.

Sharly..40lbs is a lot of weight..i'm sure they'll notice. If not, they must be blind or in denial. Have fun!

Sweety..I am so glad I joined this forum. It's making it easier for me to focus on my goal.. Hopefully within a week i'll be able to jog longer than i walk.. And yes, a loss is a loss..better than gaining right?

sweety --- following your advice I took an hour session at the gym pumping iron.  I felt a bit like jennifer beals from flashdance, but with more cursing.

sharly --- congratulations on losing forty pounds!!  you'll have to tell us all the compliments you got at the party.

Julia ...you are hilarious!!! That pumping iron will do your body good :) Hopefully you wont be as sore as I am though. My husband says Im walking like Ive been horseback riding...lol

Cutesy...You WILL be able to jog longer then you walk. It will happen for you. Never in a million years would I have thought I could jog let alone run...My mom always teases me about how when I was in Elementary school we had a jogathon at school and I was the only kid not jogging ...ha ha..I was just walking alone at a leisurely pace....lol...YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
Hello everyone. I definitely want in on this challenge. I have just completed my first week of dieting and exersizing and I would love to have some modivation to keep me from falling off the wagon. :) I really think I can do this, I really think we all can! I feel so much better even after just one week and I want to make it stick. Good luck everyone! Be strong!
