5'7 145lbs want to change
hi i'm new so sorry if i post anything wrong...
I'm a 5' 7" 18 year old girl who is tired of being this size. I know that 145lbs is in my range, but i feel un easy in my body. I've always been kinda chunky growing up and never was into sports or activities so the weight never had a way to get off. I now have a steady boyfriend and am in college and want a change. I checked a denis austin's sculpt your body with balls and bands book and am going to start doing balance ball exercises. I have a few questions though.
- Does 145 to 132 sound reachable by may?
- Does the balance ball really help make you toned and leaner? because I have big thighs and a big butt and don't want them to get bigger, i want them firmer, leaner, and tighter.
- i have a small tummy roll. I'm not needing a six- pack, but will this ever go away?
thanks for any comments! ~Alex
dont aim to loose weight, aim to loose fat and gain some muscle. id never recommenda video like that over good old dumbell excersizes, but if you really want to do it, ya youll see some results, but only if you do it as much as your supposed to, and push yourself your hardest. you COULD get down to 132 but dont. youll be too thin, and skinny-fat more than likely. your weight is fine, dont use the scale to judge yourself, use the mirror. a balance ball is more likely to tone your body rather than add thickness or muscle to your legs. but hey, dont fret over big legs and butt, its a good thing for a girl. looks good, shows your strong, and what girl doesnt want a booty?
haha wow. ok well I will go change my goal to 138, cause i do want to lose some lol but i will write down what you said in my fitness journal i've started. you just helped me alot! thank you :)

I think it's a bit sweeping to tell someone they will be 'too thin' at 132 and 5'7. Everyone's bodies are different, and that is within the healthy range for that height.
I am 5'7 and went from 148 llbs to 132-134 which is where i'm at now, and have got that way through regularly exercise, weight training and eating a healthy diet. I don't feel too thin, I feel strong and fit. It is a totally achievable weight loss and I am proof that you don't have to go on any crazy diets to get there - just cut ouit the junk, eat healthy and regular meals and do lots of exercise.
I agree with Dondons,
I'm 5'7 and 134 pounds, I am currently trying to get BACK down to 128 or so which i KNOW is a low BMI, but it actually isnt all that thin on my frame. I've always been that weight, but thanks to christmas binges and lessening my training schedule after my marathon i've gained some weight.
My advice to you is to count your calories, dont obsess about it, just log it and be sure not to hardcore overeat. I eat 1600-2200 a day depending on if it's a run(hour-hour and a half), long run(two to two and a half hours), or rest day.
I know some ppl are going to smash me for wanting to be 128 but in all honesty it's what I normally am, and trust I love my food lol.
If I were you, leave the goal where you have it now, work out, eat right, and tone up. I'm really more focused on the butter blocks i have as love handles :D
thanks for all the feedback!
i don't know why in my first post i put 132, because i meant 135. that'd be 10lbs for me. i'm not looking to be rail-thin...that'd be impossible for my body anyway lol i just want the be toned and fit.
thanks for the comments though :)
they really help!
themayqueen: I am 5'7 and 125 pounds and no where near "Skinny fat"
I was about 150 in July of 2008 when I started my journey of eating healthy, smaller portions, less fast food and restaraunt dinners, and doing activity like walking, dancing and pilates. AND i still have a nice round booty!
My advise to you is dont pick a goal number to weigh. work till you FEEL great and then maintain that GREAT FEELING regardless of the scale.
