I am 5'61/2" and 148 lbs and want to 132lbs. I need help to keep going with my diet.
I am new to this community and want to get inspired by people who have done it. I used to be 156 lbs in May and have lost the pounds by reducing calorie intake and 1/2 hour walks. According to the weight loss goal estimator, I will reach my goal by Nov 21 at a rate of 1lb/week.
My problem is, I feel tired and I also need loads of motivation to keep going.
Is there anyone who is in the same situation as I am?
the weight loss results is all the motivation i have ever needed.
also, personally, i never got much out of walking. I think its a waste of time to be honest. I think if youre going to exercise, dont just "exercise" do something you enjoy, have fun, dont just go walking, thats lame.
if you like swimming, do laps at the community pool (or your own pool if you have one). If you like tennis, get a buddy from the community and play every day. If you are like me and like hockey (im a guy, but our league is non contact co-ed and we have almost as many women as we have men) then play hockey.
Dont just "exercise". That gets boring and old fast. Do something enjoyable that happens to be exercise. Hell, have sex 5 times a day, that'll be al the exercise you can handle lol.

Maybe she likes walking. Don't dis it. In terms of calorie burning, though, walking isn't especially effective. Walking at a normal pace for 1 mile burns maybe 65 calories.
What are you tired of, exactly? The dieting? The exercise?

true, i suppose it is possible she likes to walk. I just haven't found many people who enjoy walking, as much as the results from walking, so they force themselves to walk. I mean, is it fun to walk? where is the challenge? where is the goal, where is the interesting aspects to walking? I play hockey. I live, die, and bleed it. On my tombstone, they will have ice skates, or they will scatter my ashes around Madison Square Garden, either way, hockey is my life. I can play it for 10 hours and not be bored. THAT is the key to exercise, for you to not really notice that you are exercising (imho.) Just for you to have so much fun doing whatever it is you are doing, that the exercise is more ancillary than the actual purpose. Just my 2 cents is all.
Hey! You started out at the same weight as me! (you're also the same height)
And I'm around where you want your goal weight to be...well I was 130 now I'm around 135. Still trying to lose a little and tone up though. I know how you feel. Sometimes just maintaining for a month (or hell, week if you want faster results) has helped me. Just kind of a "Break", not from eating healthy, but from having to restrict for so long. Also, varying your exercise helps too. When you reach a new clothing size buy a new pair of shorts/jeans or whatever to help you get motivated! It's only a FEW more months, and then you'll be in happy maintaining mode...right before the xmas season...perfect timing :)
Don't listen to those jocks who don't enjoy walking. I walk 5 days a week and love every minute of it--I walk early in the morning when the air is fresh and cool and walk in our local park as well as in our neighborhood. Just do what feels right--and I agree with the other post--do what you like. Walking is not a waste of time if you enjoy it.
I'm in the same boat.. started at 158, now I'm 151.5ish, so 7ish pounds in 3 weeks or something. I'm 5'6 and want to be 133.
Thank you all for your suggestions!
Glad to meet you betl5 and misspriss316 who have my stats! I have joined the 10-15 lbs group.
Thank you all again!
misspriss316-That's a good idea. Thanks!
betl5-That's awesome! How did you lose 7 lbs in 3 weeks???
void_ptr-Thank you for your support! I guess I am just tired of dieting.
Good luck!
I'm 5'6" and hovering around 129/130 right now.
I abhor dieting, so I took the alternative route of burning as many calories as possible each day and altering my consumption only minimally. Of course, you would have to do a lot of walking to make that work. Or, start walking on an incline or uphill. I mainly run.
those are my EXACT stats and my goal weight...how weird.
thats all. i need motivation!
