202 lbs. Yesterday, and 197 this morning...can someone explain that?
I weighed myself at the same time yesterday morning and this morning and dropped 5 pounds in one day...how is that possible? Could I really have been retaining THAT MUCH water?
My "time of the month" just started this morning...could that be what it is? (Sorry guys.)
Just curious.
It's really not unusual to have massive water gains associated with TOM. Some women experience up to 8lbs!
Wow - didn't realize that TOM could cause that much weight gain.
Thanks for the reply!
It's not necessarily your period that accounts for the fluctuation. Being better hydrated - drinking more fluids - can mean you lose excess fluids. Eating foods that are less salty/sugary/starchy/alcoholic... ditto. Eating more wholefoods with more fibre in them.... ditto. You can factor in bowel movements as well...
Daily weighing can be up or down, therefore. Check-weigh by all means but the trend line is the one to keep your eye on.
It also can be "whoosh". Our body sometimes replace fat cells with water when we lose teh fat, justto secure the place in case we gained fat back. After a while, our body realized teh fat isn't coming back so it "flushes" out the water. If our body is made of 80% water??? 5 pounds are definitely not surprising. Congrats!
This is one reason why it is always recommended to weigh yourself at the same time of day, so that you don't see such variations.
It was the exact same time of the day. Before I ate anything, etc. Just before the shower, so no additional weight from clothes, etc. either. It must have just been water.
its probably food and water did u eat before u weight ur self ?? did u go to the bathroom and my period affects my weight too i always weight 5lbs less in the morning and 5lbs more or so after i just eat

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
- Plot your weight curve
- Analyze the trend of your weight (see under Recent in the figure above)
- Determine the projected target date (see under Overall in the figure above)
