I know frozen dinners wouldn't be good for everyday but I thought I'd try one. I bought one today but I'm saving it for tomorrow. It's the Chicken and Vegetable one. Anyone eat Lean Cuisine? Are they good? And what other ones should I try? =)

Lean Cuisine is alright. I ate it almost everyday for lunch at school last year. It was cold and I got sick of it so maybe that's why i'm not a Lean Cuisine fan.
But now I buy Smart One's by weight watchers (the red box) and I think they're YUM. I love it because its also got the foods I normally don't eat because of high calories (steak and mashed potatoes, spaghetti, enchiladas, etc) but its in a small portion and I fit it in with my calorie allowance.
Oh and I don't eat it everyday, just whenever there's nothing else to eat :)

I saw Smart One's at the market but didn't pick one up. Maybe next time I'm there I'll pick one up, any suggestions?
I decided to try a frozen dinner because I got tired of chicken salads, lol.

i love lean cuisine however i prefer south beach diet ones simply because they have larger portions. My favourate lean cuisine is three bean chilli at something like 290 calories or the bean and rice one mmmmmmmmm i think they are all good but just make sure that your other meals are low in sodium and you add a salad or something to the meal.
Just watch the sodium in those meals :)
Oh yeah, I was thinking about the sodium. But these frozen dinners would only be once in awhile, maybe once every two weeks. Just for variety. Nightshade19 thank you for the suggestions! =)
For the smart ones, I suggest the veggie lasagna with the different cheeses. Its only like 180 calories, I think... I don't remember exactly. But it's SOOO good. Tastes like it would be 600 or so calories but it's really low cal and totally filling.
Well, I like the Herb Roasted Chicken best, but the Baked Chicken is also good. :3
I love the Lean Cuisine spa meals... I usually take one to work for my lunch or dinner and microwave it there. The Salmon ones I really dont like (I'm used to fresh caught and if ever frozen done instantly fish) but the chicken ones are really good. The Chicken a L'Orange and Wine Sauce one are really really low cal and very good. Shrimp ones arent bad either.
I enjoy the Michelina's Lean Gourmet frozen entrees. They're way cheaper and there's a fairly good selection. I like the salisbury steak(which I normally hate) and mashed potatoes. Only 210 calories.
I love the Sweet and Sour Chicken from Lean Cuisine. The flavour is excellent and authentic - it doesn't taste like a low-fat meal, it tastes like a smaller portion of a high-fat meal.
Weight Watcher's Smart Ones... I haven't found one I liked much yet. The Szeszhuan (sp?) Chicken one was absolutely horrid. I couldn't even finish the whole portion - the flavour was sssooo thick and strong it turned my stomach.

I've tried two lean cuisine's so far, Chicken Fettucini and Chicken and Vegetables. I didn't really find them that great but they were decent. the Fettucini one was too cheesy for me. I only ate half of each when I had them. I want to try one that isn't "saucy" .
I was just going to post about frozen dinners! I just found out that Kashi has frozen dinners - I tried one tonight, it was Lime Cilantro Shrimp, 250 cal, 12 g of protein, and really yummy! I can't wait to try the rest of them, they even have a vegetarian one!
ooh Kashi might really be worth trying! I hope they sell those in canada (unlike south beach) Vegetarian is always good for me because most meats are too hard to digest. I only eat chicken and fish and alot of frozen meals seem to think beef or bacon is a good idea. Frozen foods are never as good as the fresh cooked thing, but the are a quick fix and convenient as hell.
I usually dont like them I wont give you names as mine are all australian versions. but i like getting the smaller ones and adding frozen veggies - so much healthier. Plus then less sodium. Here we have a beef hotpot thing, low cal. I split it in half, have it in a pepper/capsicum, baked/microwaved with more veggies or beans, and a small side of brown rice, and the other half I'll put in a wrap, or toasted sandwhich, or have for dinner the next night, differently. That way I'm not having a huge sodium hit
lean cusine veggie pizza's are great! the turkey w/ stuffing, lasagna, swedish meatballs and panini sandwiches are all good too!
all the kashi frozaen meals i've tried were DELICIOUS. i highly reccomend them. they run roughly 300 cals apiece
They're good for work or school lunches when you haven't had time to prepare something healthy the night before. However, most of these frozen meals don't contain enough vegetables, I've found, so I bring a few baby carrots or even a small salad to balance it all out.
check out the sodium levels on those frozen meals...remember you really shouldnt go over 2500g sodium total a day.
I'm simply addicted to South Beach Diet pizza's. 1 round pizza is 330-350 calories and contains 30-34 grams of protein. They taste really good too.
As for LC's, they have a teryoki chicken bowl that is super tastey, and a potato cheese and broccoli one that is only 220 cals. Those are my fave. The Chicken Fettuccine is pretty nice too but after a while I got burnt out on it.
And yea, just watch the sodium :)
But seriously check out those pizzas.

I really love the lean cuisine chicken carabona(sp?)! Wonderful! Lean Cuisine is a little better on sodium than some of the other brands. For me they are a substitute for going out for fast food. I wish more of the entrees were made with whole wheat noodles and brown rice instead of white. I'll have to try the Kashi.
