lean cuisine meals
is it ok to have a lean cuisine meal everyday at work for lunch?
Reason: Moved from Weight Loss to Foods
I have them most days at work, they are tasty and very convienent. May want to watch your sodium intake though, they are really high... Probably why they are so delicious! ;)
I guess that would depend on how you define "ok".
People are here for different reasons. Some just want to lose weight. Others are here to more closely watch their fat intake, or their sodium intake, etc. Calorie-wise, there are far worse choices you could make than a Lean Cuisine. Sodium-wise, boxed meals are pretty high. I think it depends on what you plan to get out of this healthy eating experience.
Personally, I LOVE Lean Cuisines. I know they are high in sodium, but I make sure to watch my sodium for breakfast and dinner to make up for the higher amount for lunch.
I like them occasionally. I think they are good and well-portioned, but they make me constipated, lol, so like I said, I don't have them too often.
woule it be bad if i said i dont know what sodium is?
Sodium is, basically, salt. And a lot of sodium can lead to water retention and I think, worst case scenario bad things with your heart. If you check your analysis and point your curser over the date it will tell you how much sodium you are taking in.
I don't eat the lean cuisine meals but I do have smart ones usually 5 days a week. I have been using cc since Feb and and I have been losing at a healthy rate while eating them. I am currently 9 pounds from goal. Also I recently had blood pressure and cholesterol checked and everything is good on that end.
Like Peaches mentioned if you watch how you eat the rest of the day I don't think the sodium amount in the boxed meals will hinder your efforts. While I do think it is important to watch your sodium intake unless you eat boxed meals for every meal you should be fine. Of course many people disagree with this but in my experience they have not had an adverse effect on my weight loss efforts or my health.
I generally add some frozen vegetables to my lean cuisine. It helps thin out the salt, add fiber and add some calories to make it more of a meal than a "snack". I often open the lean cuisine before cooking and just pour them into the box and let it cook a little extra.
