Lean Cuisines, Healthy Choice, Smart Ones..

I am a big fan of Lean Cuisine entrees as well as some Healthy Choice and Smart Ones.  For one, they are easy and convenient for nights that I have to work (I am a waitress).  They are also super tasty, which is the main reason why I eat them.  However, my question is, how nutritious are these meals?  Is it okay to consume 3-5 a week?  I know the sodium content is one concern, but other than that is there something I should watch out for?

Well you've already hit on the sodium content, but most of these meals have the nutrition information prominent on the pack so its easy to check that.

 

I don't eat many, mainly because I suspect they are full of preservatives. I'm not comfortable eating an ingrediant I can't pronounce..or worse , has an "E" number instead of a name  Smile

If you are worried about the sodium content check out the new frozen meals from kashi they have way less sodium that any of the others, the ingreadents are all natural not processed and the calories and stuff seem reasonable.  http://www.kashi.com/products/category/Frozen %20Foods

I like them too... but why are they all made with white carbs?  I think they would be a lot better for you  if they where made with brown rice, wheat pasta and wheat bread.  i only eat them for lunches @work if i don't have time to make mine in the morning.

I use these, but always choose the ones with brown rice or no grains in them. Also, I add frozen veggies to these to increase the vegetable content. The problem with them is their small amount of fiber, and we all need more fiberLaughing
