hello!
i'm 5"5 and 125lbs so in the healthy weight bmi etc, so basically i'm on here (just joined yesterday) to try and get a bit fitter and eat healthier because i eat quite a lot of junk really.
i have quite short legs for my height (i wear petite length trousers) which means they are also quite chunky. just wondered if anyone has any ideas for leg excercises i can do to tone up my thighs!? i've recently joined a gym but is there anything i can do at home to help? i really want to get them more toned by summer so i feel more comfortable on the beach etc!
any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Squats and lunges. With weights.
second that. I have short chunky legs too. Curse of the cankle. The only time they start to look better is if I keep up the weight lifting. That way I keep my muscles as I lose weight...giving me more shape to my legs instead of the tree trunks I am used to dragging around. A lot of it is genetics too. It sucks to hear but some of us will never get those thin lean legs that everyone is so crazy about.
thanks for the help! i'm going to invest in some weights and start with the lunges etc :)
Lunges, lunges, lunges. They work your entire leg. You can do them with or without weight or even using a step.
Squats tend to bulk up the thighs.
You can also lean against a wall, place a ball between your knees, squeeze the ball with your knees, sit down to 45 degrees while leaning against the wall. Sit there for a full minute and work your way up to 5 minutes. You should feel a nice burn in your thighs. Do 5 sets of these along with the lunges. Should do wonders for your thighs (and the rest of your legs).
