Lemonade Diet, anyone tried it?
I know Beyonce supposedly lost 22lbs in 2 weeks on this diet. But have any real people tried it for more than a day? I decided last night to do this, but its 1.30pm and im half way through my days supply of 'lemonade' and feel hungry, not sure how im suppposed to do this for 5 days. Has anyone done this? What were the results?
PS - Ive been dieting for 2 months now. eating fresh ealthy food and excerising every day. The result is ive gone up and down 3 punds and i weigh 2lbs more than i did 2 months ago. I got so upset about this last night i had to cancel dinner out with friends, i know its silly but my weight is going up and nothing is bring it down.
Edit 3.30pm 5th Nov.
Please only answer if you have tried this and can give me an insight into your results - thanks for all the people telling me not to do it but thats not helpful as i wanted to know the results of those who have tried it.
Its a "fad" diet for a reason; temporary thing. The best weight loss is normal eating and exercising hard. I know its said over and over, but I've seen it and expierienced this stuff to know! It will take longer and you will get frustrated, but the end results will let you "slip up" on a diet without having to worry about gaining 5 pounds and losing the body you basically starved to get.
Also, don't rely on the scale. It will definetly discourage you more than it will encourage. Rely on how your body feels in clothes and looks in the mirror. If you're going to the gym and toning, you're going to gain some muscle weight which will tip the scale.
I probably didn't help in the way you wanted, but I hope I gave at least some insight.
Strangley enough havent felt weak and horrible as i expected, guess theres a lot of sugar in the maple syrup to keep blood sugar up. i even manged to go to the gym on saturday and sunday. Fingers crossed day 3 is as easy.
if anyone else has tried this please let me know how it worked out for you. Did you gain back immediately? How long did you do it for? How much did you loose?
My experience with this, and other crash diets, is that the weight doesn't stay off. You come out of it so starved it's almost impossible to keep from overeating to compensate. Even if you do succeed in going back to "normal" eating, you gain it all back, plus more. This is based on 25 years of yo-yo dieting experience.
to answer your question - I lost 8 pounds in 3 days and gained back all 8 within 2 weeks as I recovered from dehydration, 12 more pounds within 6 months. I don't think I lost a single pound of fat. It also made me violently ill for the first day, but I was nuts enough to stick to it for the full 3 days.
Now I'm just trying to change all my bad eating and exercise habits into good, healthy ones. Since I want to keep these changes for the rest of my life, I can't call it a "diet".
get off the yo yo my dear!
That Master Cleanse, lemonade diet or whatever you want to call it is stupid. I don't care if that sounds insulting, it just is plain stupid.
chelseagirl, you said you've been dieting and exercising, but you've got to give us more information than that. What's your average caloric intake? How many calories do you burn and how many calories do you eat on workout days?
It's frustrating to go so long doing something and not seeing results, but that usually means you're doing something wrong. Even if you want to say it's your body's fault, it's still yours for not knowing what your body needs to lose weight, and that's usually when you need a nutritionist and a physician to give you a hand.
I'm sure the culprit here is going to be too little calories.
OK yes I have tried it. But I'm also one of those people who love detoxing and everything, and what I heard people gained from it from those aspects is what really drew me to it.
However, as I am not looking to lose weight, I had to stop after a few days because it just wasn't a good idea. Yes it is a crash diet but I think what you can gain from it could be really beneficial to you if thats what you're looking for. Read reviews on Amazon about the two books (I have the newer one by Glickman..) and those people rave about it and don't complain about the weight coming back on. Yes Beyonce gained the weight back, but she's never been the Victoria Beckham. She's always preferred to be curvy and was doing it for a movie role so one would assume the weight would come back, especially as she wasn't looking to maintain it.
What drew me to this diet truly was silly enough, all the other things people claimed to get as side effects. Which, as I learned more about it, really isn't why anyone does it. So yea, my friends judged me. I definately am more of an advocate of good eating and exercise because its the natural way to achieve weight loss, but if its not working for you, maybe this is the motivation you need.
Oh and I surprisingly was never hungry on it. I just craved food. Badly. haha

Before anyone tells me its a CRASH DIET and aill only loose a few pounds of water, my metobolism will slow, etc i know, but thanks for caring. Im only planning on it for a few days and then back to my normal healthy eating.
Other option is stop now and so grab some veggie sushi
You can feel 100% better by eating a diet of unprocessed foods with lots of fruits and veggies.
I would go for the sushi.
Like the others have posted, I too don't see the point to this diet/cleanse (also, I looked up the recipe and it sounds revolting, no wonder people lose weight on this, they probably throw it all up... bleh). What I want to know is why you would rather waste three days - where you could be eating healthily and exercising for steady, more easily maintainable weight loss - just to see a 2-5lb drop on the scale that you know is going to come back as soon as you start eating solid food again? Why go through the trouble?
Simple answer desperation, scales havent moved in 2 montsh and thought it may break the platue as ive tried everythging including increasing intake like doctor said, result gained 4 lbs.
I just wanted to hear from a few people that have actually done it and what the results were.
Maybe you are finding it difficult to lose because you are a good weight for you already?
