What lengths would you go to......

....to stay young?

would you have plastic surgery, would you take miracle tablets, injections?

what age would you like to live to? I believe the oldest human so far 120yrs.

I hate the thought of growing old and to be honest I would take steps to slow it down in some way physically and mentally.

Does anyone take HGH? if so do you think it is working?

My great grandma lived to be 103 years old.  She never ate at resturants, was a moderate smoker, didn't drink to much and raised 13 kids.  She also spent the last 15 years of her life not knowing any of her kids or anyone else.

The only advice that I would give you is to eat healthy and do some sort of exercise.  Also I would stay away from as many chemicals as possible.

Take your vitamins, get at least 30 minutes of exercise everyday whether it be walking or whatever, Keep social, do things you love to do, eat healthy with occasional treats (Hell, the golden girls almost devoured a cheesecake every night! Lmao.) and just don't stress about how much time you have left, but do something new everyday. I think stress is a big factor into making us ill/look older. Etc.

At least these are the things I hope to keep me going.

gah - there is no part of me that wants to live past 75 or maybe 80.  if i can't have a productive, fulfilling life, i want no part of it.

i'm thinking about joining the voluntary human extinction movement.

mind you, i might feel differently when i'm, say, 79 Wink

Exercise is the fountain of youth. The only one I plan on drinking from, anyway.

People like Joan Rivers arent fooling anyone.

#1. wow that is a good age to get to. not sure if i would personally like to live that long i would like to stay younger for longer though :D

Haha I'm sure VHEMT would love to have you on board PG :] I'm pretty fond of the idea myself.

I wouldn't get plastic surgery, my mom's had a face lift, brow lift, eyelid lift, tummy tuck, lipo, not sure what the thing they did was called that got rid of a hint of a double chin. Recovery was gross and painful, and has totally turned me off of ever wanting any kind of plastic surgery.

Vitamins, exercise and healthy eating is good enough for me kthx.

yeah i go with that i would have to be able to still do human! :D

I wanna die around 50-55. No more than that. I don't want kids, so I don't have to worry about leaving anyone. I think that this age is fulfilling.

One I hit 50, I'm gonna go wild.

Sky-diving, bungee-juping, hang gliding, scuba diving, eating rich food, traveling to exotic locales...enjoying life to the excess. I like to call it, 'going out with a bang'.

reminds me of the supersize me guy... he had a show '30 days' or something, it was on hulu and they showed someone who went through a regimen of exercise, vitamins and some injections to be more youthful (maybe the Human Growth Hormone, not sure).  he wasn't doing calorie restriction but i think he was eating healthier. check to see if it still is on hulu, thats one example of what people will go to - extreem  - to feel / be / look younger.

Wow! This May I turn 50.  It's not that bad.

I'll let myself naturally get old. I mean, I'll take care of myself of course! I try to do that now. I use creams and stuff of that nature, but I would never have cosmetic surgery in an attempt to stay young. I haven't seen it be successful for many others, and to be honest...I think a lot of the time it has the reverse effect!

I want to die sometime between 45-55 years old. I don't want to see death coming, I just want it to happen suddenly and quickly. I don't want to be 80 in a nursing home knowing my organs are slowly shutting down.

Dying of old age turns my stomach, really...

Man you people want to die so young! I'd say around 70-75 for me.

I would do a lot to say young.... but not fake young through plastic surgery or something, i mean real youth where your body can keep functioning. I hear there are going to be lots of age medication coming!! And who knows, once they get a better understanding of the brain...we might all be immortal!

I want to live to be hundreds of years old!!! Because dieing seems so boring...

hee hee this made me giggle......

That HGH I mentioned is some hormone that is believed to retain youth I saw a programme about it, but you just don't know how honest people are being, have they had plastic surgery is the Q.

Another method is supposed to be reduced calories in the form of eating absolute massive bowls of salad, fruit etc the male intake was 1600 per day of this the theory is that reduced calories reduces metabolism which in turn slows the aging process. The guy they spoke to did look much younger, but could it have been genes?

When checked out against a guy the same age (51) one who ate normally looked 51 the one on the low cal looked about 35......

I figure if i get older and it doesnt look like i will be able to live as long.... ill just clone myself hehe. Not as good as living forever....but still would be nice to know another me is around somewhere. (i could even have a clone now if i had more money!! But its ok, i can wait ><)

It's physically impossible to stay young, isn't it?   Tomorrow you're older than you were today... fact.   Smile  There have been a lot of very elderly people in my family and the one thing they have in common is 'joie de vivre'.  Their eating habits weren't stellar and their version of regular exercise was hard work, looking after a family and 'not owning a car' so they walked everywhere.   One of them smoked, drank and still made it to 94.

But they grabbed life with both hands... smiled lots, laughed lots, they were all optimists & found contentment in simple things.  They kept their pleasures small & lived in the moment.   Not for them any navel-gazing psychobabble, they were far too busy.   They'd have hooted at the vanity of plastic surgery.

So that's my plan to keep youthful... enjoy life, appreciate my good fortune, look after myself physically and never loose my sense of humour.

I might consider surgery if I could afford it (and wasn't a terrible coward when it comes to pain).  But it's not a real priority - I'd rather spend the money on travelling round the world, or studying for another degree. In the end those things will make me happier than fighting a losing battle against ageing.

As for when to die, it depends on my health. Though as long as I still have a chance of getting my writing published, I'll probably want to hang on in there... :D

ha ha ha hadn't thought about that, may consider it just out of spite.....

"Yah! at last she's gone"!!.......

"Oh NO!! there's 3 more of her"!!......

cackle cackle....Innocent

the thought of never progressing through the life cycle is very odd to me

not appealing at all

i think it would be incredibly sad to live longer than most other people
