I have done them on & off for 2 years they work great but i have trouble sticking to my diet.

Yes they are intense but they will always give you a lower impact option (use it do more each time you go) make sure the instructor knows you are a new to the class.

Try a combination of hi impact calorie burning classes like body attack (apx 800 calories per hour) Body Step (800-1000 Calories per hour depending on how hight you have you step set)

Body combat is much easier & less intense.

Just hide at the back & do as much as you can rest if you have to & choose the lower impact alternative for a while.

I have done both and was dying the first couple times, but pushed through it, if you try it three times I swear you willbe hooked. For some reason that canceled bodyattack at my gym so now I am just going to bodycombat.....

I have always wanted to try Bodycombat and bodyattack but the only ever had bodypump and bodyflow which I quickly tired of.  I can't even find a gym that has them in my area.  Sucks
i do rpm, body pump and body combat. i find them to be a great workout for cardio and strength training. i have been doing all of them for about 12 weeks and i'm totally hooked

I disagree with the notion that BodyCombat is less intense.  I was soaking wet with sweat and totally breathless this morning when I took class.  If you have a good instructor they will clearly give you options and you should get a great workout.

BodyAttack is fun and will really push your fitness limits.  Make sure you talk to the instructor before you go.  They are all trained to help people of all levels find results - hopefully yours will.

also, look at les mills website - type into a search engine - I learned a lot about the "moves" there.

I have taken both. I do Attack twice a week and love it! When I first started, I could only do 20 minutes at full energy, and then I was just barely doing the rest. But they always give you lower impact options.

I don't care for Combat because of the kicks..it's hard on my hip and lower back. Some like them.

My favs are Attack, Jam, Step, Pump. I have taken Flow and plan to add it to my regulars soon. :)

finessfinatic, I dislike Combat for the same reasons. Plus I also look quite silly doing those kicks. Combat is definitely not my cup of tea.

I don't care much for BodyStep because... well, it's just Step, nothing special about it.

BodyAttack rocks, it's the best class ever created. It has a special feel to it, I can't describe it, but it's there.
