Has anyone found the Walk Away workout with Leslie Sansone on dvd effective? I have been doing it for a week and I sweat on the 2 and 3 mile walk. (about 30-45 min)

I can't afford a gym membership, do you think that this is a good workout? Has anyone had any success with it?

Just trying to find something that I truely will see nice results from!!

I love Leslie Sansone, I do her two mile podcast almost every day.. when I am at work... Yes tons of results, I do not lose weight without exercise. This is a good, uplifting, workout.

Like i said i do Sansone everday

I do up to 8 miles a day now

so pleased with my self

Hi! I saw your post when browsing.  I use Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pound 4 mile superchallenge, as a member of her walk club on her web site. I emailed Leslie on i village, and she told me that I burn 100 to 140 cals per mile, depending on using weights, boosters, intensity, etc.  I figure this is a pretty good workout and i do it everyday, various boosters.

I have several of Leslie's dvd's and really like to do them when it's too cold or windy to walk outside!  She can get a little too chipper for my taste sometimes, but she delivers a good sweaty workout.  I especially like the ones where she uses the stretchy bands!  I switch up my workouts among the treadmill, Leslie Sansone, Gilad Total Body Sculpt and walking outside.  I am not super diligent about my calories, although I try eat healthy and pretty low-cal.  With this, I have lost 27 pounds in 33 weeks -- I know slow, but I figure this is something I can stick to and make a "lifestyle."

ok.. this is going to seem like an incredibly dense question, but how does the exercise work? do you just walk in place?... or is is back in forth in your living room? I don't really understand..

I LOVE Leslie's tapes...I actually did her 3 and four mile tapes everyday when I lost over 100 lbs. two years ago...she and her crew are just so upbeat and the routine really is easy and fun to follow (you may be off for the first few times you do it, but will quickly adjust)....her tapes really helped me to discover my love for walking...which goes way beyond just doing it to burn excess calories now as I am maintaining my weight...I don't do the tapes as often now because I like to jog and walk outside, but on those days where I can't go outside due to the weather or time contraints, she is my go-to exercise routine!

as for what it is....you do a lot of walking in place, along with various arm motions which usually involve some sort of exercise strenghtening equipment in the latter portions of the tape (those small medicine ball weights that go in the palms of your hand or her walk away ribbon and belts for your tummy area)....you do however move around a lot (i.e. single and double side/back/front steps) and do a lot of kicking and things of that nature...lots of fun!

I started a week ago.  I thought I would stay with the 2 mile for awhile, but find the  mile better for me.  I just ordered the 5 mile.  I am addicted.  I can do this in the am before the kids get up.  I get up do the work out, have breakfast, shower then get my son up for school and head to work.  It fits into my schedule.  On the weekends I do it in the afternoon before my energy fizzles.

Good luck,
