10 or less to lose - CLOSED GROUP!
Hey all, I'm looking for others with similar goals (not stats, anybody who's 10 or less from their goal) so we can keep each other company for the last leg of the weight-loss extravaganza. A small group would be great fun! (Let's keep it to just the first 10 or so who join - if I even get that many takers!)

Age: 22
Height: 5'0
CW: 107-110 (morning-evening)
Goal Weight: 98-101
hey stephie! great to hear from you, and sounds like you're really on track (especially with the biscuits :3)! great job! though the back aches sound like something to be worried about... are you running 4 miles on a daily basis...? you might want to alternate the running days instead cause it does take a toll on your joints and back... ideally, you should be taking a rest day about once a week, and cross training once or twice a week (swimming is a great low impact activity for cross training... it's good for your back too!)
also, you might want to check if your shoes are well fitted (suitable for your arch height), cause back pains might be due to poor fitting shoes... hope this helps!
Yup, I also hear a lot of runners say the back problems are due to worn out shoes.

Man, Sunday afternoons suck. I've been resisting a large bag of potato chips and dip for about 4 hours already. It looks so good. I've fobbed myself off with fruit and a bit of pasta salad already. I think the next step is to take a shower and just get out of the house!!

veggeek: i know! the walk sounds great (you have no idea how much i envy you right now since i haven't been out of my house since friday night, and i'm just craving to go out, but my blasted tummy is still being uncooperative). Potato chips are awfully tempting, and the worst thing about them is that once you start, you really can't stop. The serving sizes are so unrealistic compared to the bags that they come in! >"<!!! i like munching on baby carrots as an alternative though... crunchy, lower cals, and loaded with waaay more vitamin and minerals. (and salsa is my new favorite dip. only 10 cals every 2 tablespoons, and with the added health benefits that tomatoes have to offer!)
skineeminee: just saw on another forum post that you're 5'3.5"? Given your height, 100lbs is actually pretty low a goal weight, as 105~106lbs will put you at a BMI of 18.5... i hope you will come to see that a weight is just... a weight. more importantly, is how healthy you are at that weight––your self-valuation and your physical health. I'm not entirely sure how you intend to go about weight loss, but upping your cal intake sounds like a mighty good idea if you're currently eating 1300cals/day or less! For any sustained weight loss, you definitely need to be treating your body right (to lose weight, your metabolic, digestive and pancreatic systems need to be adequately fueled as well!) also, as your weight is pretty low, you definitely need to make sure that you're getting sufficient calcium/iron in your diet, as having a low BMI puts one at an increased risk of osteoporosis later on in life. (as a vegetarian (as of now anyway ^^||), i highly recommend enriched soy milk as a source of calcium :3 I try to drink two glasses on a daily basis (helps me hit 60% of my daily calcium requirements), and even so, i take a calcium supplement. just in case.)
My coffee date went cool, I had a Skinny vanilla latte instead of my fav White chocolate mocha and we ended up catching a movie later on. Six flags was great didn't eat too badly I had a light breafast and dinner.
Welcome Skinee. Are you sure you want to lose more weight, maybe you just need to tone up? Either way we're here for you. Doedoe is already at her goal and she is still with us :-)

I have to admit it, after my walk, I broke and opened the chip bag. BUT - I took out a handful, put it in a bowl, then put a rubber band around the rest of the bag and locked it in the trunk of my friend's car. After I ate the handful in the bowl (which were DELICIOUS) I brushed my teeth, had a shower, and went to bed. This morning I woke up with the resolve to stay away from sugar and fried foods at least for TODAY if not this whole week. (It's usually easy to get to a week after you get past the first day.)
Amayou, sounds like so much fun to be going on a date. I'm jealous! Did the latte taste as good as the mocha? Still jealous. I miss real dates and I'm living vicariously now!
Mna I didn't even want to finish it my skinny vanilla latte but it gave me the power to resist what I really wanted. Man my wrist is really hurting right now so I may have to modify some of my workouts on my DVD this week. (my right wrist periodically aches for about a week I have no clue why, and neither did the air force so I just put a brace on it for a while and it goes away)
Random thought: I'm gonna weigh in tomorrow after being totally hydrated and see if last Friday's weigh in was a fluke *crossing fingers*

I have a long-term boyfriend so probably shouldn't try to reconnect with the dating "scene" :) but I should take him out on more dates! I can't remember the last time we went out for coffee!
146.6 :-( I'm seriously thinking of grabbin some hydoxycut again. I tried it before and it helped me get over a plateau. My morale is seriously taking a hit especially knowing that with my wrist I won't be able to do my regular work outs.

What exactly is Hydroxycut?
If you maintain the same deficit (cut a few more calories from your diet if you're going to be burning fewer) that should keep you on track, or else focusing on lower body workouts, cardio could help.
My morale's not much better, work just got CRAZY and will stay crazy for the next week at least, cuts down on gym opportunities and makes me tend to head for the junk food :(
The BF and I have been together close to two years. We don't live tg, but pretty close, and tend to spend our time doing very domestic things lately. Wouldn't kill us to get out a bit more!
There is a bit of controversy surrounding any kind of diet pill but here is the website about hydroxycut, http://www.hydroxycut.com/ SOme say it's all your head but who knows. I was also checking out this site it reviews different weight loss pills http://www.weightlossresearch.net/ I personally don't see anything wrong with using them periodically as long you aren't expecting some miracle. With all diet pills you are supposed to diet and exercise, the pills in some cases help with either energy or appetite suppressing.
Eh, all diet pills are essentially speed -- they work primarily by pumping you full of caffeine which makes you burn more calories (and can strain your heart.) As long as you're healthy, and don't use them ALL the time (and don't have that double shot of expresso, too) you'll be fine! :)

Total backslide -- I don't know. I haven't been that good lately, I guess. I hope some of it's water-weight, and that maybe I've only gained one pound instead of two. ARgh. I need to get back on track with eating. Maybd it's just that vacation finally catching up to me. I don't know. I'm pretty down about it. I never lost at all really - I was just holding steady around 107 this whole time. Rarrh.

Sorry I haven't posted for a couple days - went to a conference (where, of course, the food was ridiculously unhealthy).
Septi, please don't be too down! Hopefully that extra couple of pounds is just water weight, or a scale fluke, but if it's not, then try to make at least one significant change in what you've been doing the past few weeks. Have you been snacking? Eating off someone else's plate? Try to plan out your meals for the next 5 days and challenge yourself to stick to it. Bribery works - maybe if you stick to it for 5 days, put $20 in your Vacation/New Guitar/Whatever fund.
Amayou, please be really really careful with any diet pills you're taking. They can be terrible for your heart and really affect your mood. Personally I'd prefer to see you spend an extra half hour in the gym every day to bust your plateau, but if you're really set on the hydroxycut, please be really conscious of how you're feeling and how it's affecting you.
I haven't weighed in yet this week (was out of town Friday). I think I'll wait a few days because my jeans feel a little tight and I just don't want to know what the damage is. (Yes total denial, but I don't want to depress myself.) I stocked up on salad this morning and will be trying to base this week's meals around plain fruits, vegetables and protein.
No wedding bells in our future :) But hopefully a hot date soon! I'm pretty broke at the moment but since the weather's good, maybe a picnic in the park or something.
