10 or less to lose - CLOSED GROUP!
Hey all, I'm looking for others with similar goals (not stats, anybody who's 10 or less from their goal) so we can keep each other company for the last leg of the weight-loss extravaganza. A small group would be great fun! (Let's keep it to just the first 10 or so who join - if I even get that many takers!)
My stats:
Age: 22
Height: 5'0
CW: 107-110 (morning-evening)
Goal Weight: 98-101
Hey guys :)
Sorry I missed yesterday's weigh-in, I was super busy at home. Anyways, I weighed in today and I was at 120. Uh-oh, we may have a plateau coming on...
Anyways sorry for the short and late post, but keep it up, guys! Sounds like most of you are doing pretty well, or are planning on it!
sounds like most of us are doing good! (: great job guys!
stephipops: I'm going through PMS right now too! and I spent the whole of yesterday either sleeping, eating, or watching telly! I jumped on the scales first thing this morning to see what damage was dealt, but thankfully i just stayed the same weight nonetheless (our bodies are amazing things)
okgo: maybe you could try eating things that increase your metabolism? I find that doing so helps me to prevent plateaus... (:
I got this off a website:
Natural metabolism boosters: Chilli (chili), Mustard, Green Tea, Water, dietary fibers, foods that are complex carbohydrates and proteins.
I haven't plateaued yet, and i think it's because i love my chilli, green tea, fruits, wholegrains, and water (though i still could do with more protein though... (hard for me cause i don't eat most meats!)
Wow! Thanks so much for the tips, doedoebird! Who knew something as simple as water could boost your metabolism? Looks like I'm going to be drinking a lot more water and green tea as low-cal or no-cal metabolism boosters! Again, thanks so much and I'll let you know if I'm able to break this mini-plateau! :)
So, how is everyone's journey coming along so far? I had a horrible weekend, but I'm hoping that this week is going to be better. :)
Okie
But I'm not all that bummed. I'm really anxious and nervous about the academy starting in a couple weeks so I'm sure my body doesn't know what's going on. LOL. Plus it's TTOM now too.
I'm gonna keep at it. But I'm gonna focus on getting ready for the academy, not just losing weight.
Good job everyone. :)
Well done everyone sounds like we are all ok on the weigh ins - no significant rises anyway. I dropped to 153.6 over the weekend but am back up to 155 today as it was my sisters 21st yesterday and we celebrate with a huge meal out!
Mini goal for this week to get to 153 by Friday, run 3 times this week, clean the house and be good!
Oh and I still haven't had any biscuits - its actually not very hard now that totm is coming to an end and I have got used to not having them.
Anyone else with a mini goal for this week?
I'm still thinking about a mini-goal. I packed a very healthy lunch today, but I also said yes to the pastry tray floating around the office. The weekend wasn't too bad, but I didn't log anything and I"m pretty sure I'm over.
Weight did go up, 126.5 ... :(
I think I need mini-mini goals for exercise - going to the gym is too big. Jogging on the spot for 5 minutes is more doable.
I didn't log my food this weekend, I gave up weekend logging a long time ago. My only major bad things this weekend was I didn't drink my water, a had a lil cereal binge and I had some hostess cupcakes Sunday night.
Weighing in, question: For those of you who are, why are you weighing yourself more than once a week?
I always log my weight friday morning, naked(TMI lol), after the morning tinkle. I've always found this to be most accurate. Sometimes during the week I may hop on the scale just to make a mental note of my progress but I don't log it. And i always make sure I have consumed my 64oz of water the day before, thus eliminating any water weight gain.
Well done on the mini goal setting veg, I like to have something to work towards!
Well, I didn't go running last night as for some reason I was shattered so I will have to make up for it tonight I think. I also ate a few snacks which was bad but other than that I did well and this morning I'm 154.6 (come on 153 for Friday!). I am feeling really un motivated at the moment for some reason (not sure why but I really feel I need to pull muself out of the slump that I am in).
I have got a little book that I am going to write down everything I eat from now on as I always start loggin cals on the website in the morning but never have time to go back to it in the evening so this might encourage me to be more strickt.
Amayou, I dont mean to weigh myself everyday, I would really prefer to do it every week but I can't help myself. I like to know how much I am every morning. I know I shouldn't as when I put on a tiny bit I get annoyed but there we go. I dont really log it everyday, and I only really count Friday weigh ins.
stephie -- I am in the same boat! I'm worse though - I often weight myself more than once a day! :P
I only record on here when I feel there's a real, legitimate change though. Usually... lol
I also had to stop counting calories because it's too easy for me to get obsessive. I just make sure I eat right, and I have a good mental idea of "about" how many calories I take in. I'm going to tons of gym classes and trying to focus on getting toned and strong.
hey vegetariangeek! I think this might help. I just bought a skipping rope and i've been skipping now and then when i've got the free time and space. xD It's great for three reasons (i'm sure there are more)... one, you spread out your exercise throughout the day, which is apparently good for the metabolism, two, you can do it almost anytime and any place (might need to make space in your room though, or use the living room/balcony, where ever is convenient). three, you can use it do do HIIT (high intensity interval training), which apparently burns more than cardio... xD
stephiepops--maybe you could try to plan out a rough menu and exercise plan the day before or in the morning so that looking at it will motivate you to stay on track! (: I find that i can resist the forces of temptation better when i leave post-its telling myself to not cave in. :3
Having a bit of a rought time at the min guys, just can't seem to stop binging. I eat healthily through the day and then think, I'll just have that little cereal bar and BAMM! I've had 6 of the things? Once I get the taste its like I can't stop.
I have to be stronger and not give in in the first place.
Ran 4 miles last night! Not sure if I will make my goal of 153 this week as I have a few bad days but I am going to try really hard today.
Still had no biscuits though!
Hey stephie -- have you tried giving yourself a time thing -- like after you eat one say -- I can have another one if I really want it in a half hour? Sometimes that can help a lot...
Hey Stephie, I know what you mean. The evil Binge monster is always lurking, but think of it this way atleast you binged on something healthy, I think. How many cals are in the cereal bars? Try to keep only healthy food around, so if you do binge it won't be on something super high cal. When I binged on my lil muffins I was thinking atleast these aren't regular muffins cause that would have probably been like 1,200 calories instead it was only like 450.
Also CHUG WATER, sometimes I just want the "full feeling." What I'll do is have something to eat, then chug a 16.9 oz bottle of water right after by then you're usually so full you can eat anything else.
I love the skipping rope idea. I don't actuallyhave enough room inside but now that the weather's getting better I can probably use the backyard.
I think I'm coming down with a cold - I've been so tired and sniffly today :(
Thanks, I am going to try all of the above.
Great news - I made it through lunch without binging which is big as I haven't managed to do that all week. I just have to keep myself busy and drink tones of water to make sure I dont do it after work or after dinner.
Amayou - The cereal bars I have been eating are 120cals each which, I know is fine if you just have one, its awful if I have 5-6! I have drunk so much water and herbal tea today I think I will be up all night at this rate, but it is working!
How is everyone else doing this week so far?
Stephie, I also have the granola bar problem - I buy a box with 5 bars thinking I can have one for a snack at work each weekday, and then on Tuesday night I'll have one for dessert after supper, and so on. I know it sounds a bit weird, but putting a label on each one - "Monday" "Tuesday" prevents me from eating them on the wrong day and leaves me with enough to take to work all week.
I'm doin pretty good, eatin around 1200-1300 cals a day, keepin my "grade around a B/B- I'm thinking about going swimming today for exercise, but I don't wanna have to worry about my hair, so I'll probably go for a short jog instead.
Good for you Amayou! Are you seeing any results? Feeling any more energy?
