Female, 30 yrs, 5'5"

Starting weight: 144

Current weight: 138

goal weight: 120

I've restarted as of last Tuesday.  Weighing in every Sunday.  Just invested in a digital Weight Watchers scale that tells you fat%, BMI, etc.  SO excited!!

I for one am excited!  I have been keeping strict calculations on my daily deficits.  If i am correct, i should be down by 1.71 lbs, come tomorrow when i weigh in.  I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Hi, I'd like to join too if it's not too late......

SW:140

CW:139

GW:128

i'm 5'5 maybe a centimeter under lol

Count me in!Age: 21 Height: 5'8" SW: 165 CW: 159.3 GW: 135I have tried getting down to 135 many times, but I always get stuck at about 150.  However, any time that I have tried to start losing weight since 2005 has not even been met with that much success.  This time is totally different though.  The basic difference is that I have discovered raw veggies.  I feel satisfied throughout the day, and when I eat dinner I feel stuffed.  I even have to include a dessert of 3 squares of 85% cocoa chocolate to make it to my calorie targets. Also, this is the first time that I have had a support system of like-minded individuals... I have a great feeling about "this time".  I can do it!...  We all can do it!!!

Hey absterry - not upset at all! I'm glad you have the time and will to organize all of this. Thanks! Hey, do you think we should go ahead and close this at 30 people or so? If it gets too big, it may not feel like a group. Just a thought... Good luck on your weigh-in today!

I hope its not too late to join. Here are my stats:

Female
35
5'5
sw 189
cw 170.5

yes, I'm starting to get really down.  I'm getting married in three weeks and haven't lost a pound in the past month even though I've been on a 1200 cal diet and working out with a trainer.  I'm 140 right now at 5'4".  I'd like to lose 10lbs. by the wedding, but that's stretching it at this point.
So...I posted as a journal but I'd like some feed back...
Sooo...I'm pretty good at math but not that great at losing lbs (I just started)...
If 1lb. = 3500cals
Do I need to burn 7000 more calories a week than I am taking in?  (In order to lose 2lbs per week)  I understand I can eat 500 cal. less and burn 500 cal. more, but I am already so active I don't know how to burn that many MORE calories and I'm only supposed to be taking in 1800 cal. as it is...HELP PLEASE!!!
It seems like A LOT...to burn 1000 more calories a day than I eat...any suggestions/comments/answers are welcome!!!
If you're working out with a trainer you're probably building muscle mass.  At least that's my past experience!
Remember that just because you didn't lose pounds doesn't mean you didn't lose INCHES...and that is much more important (to me!)
Good Luck and Congrats on the big day!
wow im so pleased with everyones updating!   Sorry i havent done mine yet. the lady who I clean for is home today (been using her digital scale) so i will probably have to weigh in tomorrow.  may just go buy one.

I agree with goalinsight.  Its time to close the group off.  I think though if anyone drops out of the group, (fails to check in 2 weeks in a row) we can add new ppl as they sign up.   does that sound good to everyone?  30 is a good, manageable number.
sheesh, im getting ancy. im going back to her house and see if shes still there. (what a way to get motivated to do some house cleaning. LOL)  just hope the huge lunch i had a few minutes ago wont screw it all up.
kikig, from what i best understand how i am figuring my math.

1 pound lost =3500 calories burned.

500 calories deficit a day X 7 days a week = 3500

lets say you burn 2000 calories a day, and eat only 1500. that equalls 500 deficit.

lets say you burn off an extra 200 calories by taking a 30 minute walk today.  eating 1500 creates 700 calorie deficit.  and so forth.

good average deficits should be no less than 500 and no more than 1000 per day.  creating 1-2 pounds weight loss per week.

my deficits are different every day.  i just keep track of them daily and total the numbers before my weigh in.   this week i made around 5900-give or take. it should equal about a 1.5 lbs lost.

the deficits we make on the activity log are probably not 100 percent accurate.  (i cant sit and re-cap every minute of every single day) LOL but it will give you a good idea.

hope this helps. ***smiles and hugs***
doing my checking.  im at 153.4, not much, but its some! yay!
