Less than sedentary?
Is it possible to have an activity level lower than what CC calls sedentary? I do exercise daily, but I log this. When I'm not exercising, I'm really just constantly sitting with barely any intermittent walking. I'm worried that I'm overestimating my calorie burn because o f this.
(Sorry for making so many threads lately, but I&nb sp;couldn't find the answer&nb sp;to this anywhere.)
I set myself on Sedentary, then log all my activity also.
1500 calories is about an average persons BMR anyway, so i find it easy to believe that i burn an extra 277 calories in my minor amount of walking to the loo, preparing meals, picking up my laptop, so on and so forth!
Hope you have a good day,
C.
I thought so too, but even if I walked for an hour throughout the day at a reasonably slow pace--probably much more than I actually do--it would only burn about 120 calories, not the 290 difference between my BMR and sedentary rates.
I would say i walk an hour a day, but no more then an hour.
Between all that i do... which isn't much but it all adds up.
I mean, i usually spend an hour making meals a day.
And that's 157 cal.
It just all adds up i guess.
*still looking for answers*
I class myself as sedentary. I work in an office and literally sit on my bum all day. I do some housework in the evening & run around after 2 toddlers but thats all the exercise I really do- apart from the odd walk when I can get someone to watch the kids?

This is NOT true. Everyones BMR depends on their height, weight, age, muscle/fat ratio, and they are ALL DIFFERENT. Some VASTLY so.
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
