Life Clock
OK...I'm really not a morbid person. Anything but, actually! With my lawsuit settling in June, my lawyers had to "calculate my life expectancy" to get a future loss of earnings. They decided (not sure how) that I would live until I was 74. I was like, "Yeah, RIGHT!!! I'm going to be a CENTURIAN!!!". I was telling a friend this, and she sent a site to me that....*ahem*....calculates how many wonderful years you have left. It COMPLETELY gave me the willies.....but I couldn't not do it. LOL. So......I'm going to live until I'm 87! I'm not trying to upset anyone with this, it's just something fun.....don't do it if you're not sure! Just another weird website. :o)

ok I don't mean to be morbid either but maybe you could show the lawyers the website and get at least another 13 years future loss of earnings! LOL :-)
Thanks for sharing Laurie!

OMG......that is a GREAT idea!!!!!! LOLOL! Thanks!
I've got another 59 years left. Hmmm...better get serious about this weight loss thing. I want to look as good as possible for as many of those

There's another one at realage.com that takes a lot longer to complete, but is interesting too! Well, lauriex2, see you in the retirement home...I'll be around until 89, it seems. Not sure I want to be, though, with healthcare in the state it's in!:):)
*Giving thanks that I live in Canada with organized healthcare...* Not sure how long that is going to last, though! And the retirement home I'll be living in will be well equipped with good healthy food, good wine (mmMMmm), good friends, and, well, if I'm still single, some 90 year old eye-candy....*SMIRK*.........
*.....rooting around the basement for those fig leaves I KNEW would come in handy some day.....*

Ive done the realage one and it does take forever! mine says 88 on this one and 91 on realage
So right there with you about the good wine, laurie! Maybe I'll become Canadian. Hey, do not laugh about the 90-yr-old stud muffins. My husband's mother is dating an 88-yr-old precious doll---just a great, trim, sharp gentleman who treats her like she's 16. They are so cute they are disgusting. We double-date with them and we feel like the old fogies by the end of the evening! He asked her to marry him last year, and her charming ladylike response was, "Now, why on Earth would I want to do that a second time?" I've told her that if she ever dumps him, I might bat my eyes at him (then she can move in here and baby her son again.) Hey, life is long. Gotta keep your options open!:):)
Before Easter, one of my classes was discussing the plight of 18thc widows/unmarried woman as they age (we were reading Claire Tomalin's Jane Austen biography) and a sweet young student asked, "I mean really, what is the point of being alive past a certain age?" I was about to blast her, then paused to think...hmmmm...profound question! So many variables: health, vigor, independence, quality of life, availability of healthcare, supportive family...interesting! (So, as always when I don't have "the" answer, I open it up for discussion, and sit back and listen!)
The assignment at the end of that class was, "Write down what's been said today, how you 20-yr-olds feel about aging. Put it in an envelope and re-read it when you're my age!"
89's sounding mighty good to me.

Oh, your mother-in-law and her boyfriend sound adorable! I'm sure it just makes you giggle. LOL. And yes...fine wine is essential! (I have a friend that owns a wine market....I'm such a lucky girl! He's educated me on the wines of the world, and I've even developed some favourites!).
I've had the same situation happen with some young girls regarding age. They simply cannot understand WHY I wouldn't want to be 18 again.....oyyy. I'm 38 and apparently I'm ready for a retirement home. LOL! Good plan, having them write it down and read it later on. A professor once told us (we were 19) that on the eve of the year 2000, we could call him and he'd take us out for a steak dinner and talk about how we've aged. I wasn't able to, but some students did, and I guess it was pretty hilarious....he had done a similar project with us as you had done, and brought the essays. LOL! I'm kind of glad I wasn't there now!
87 is a wonderful year, I hear. :o)

Stop, stop talking about wine! My downfall. We have a kind of damp, nasty basement in our house, formerly a laundry room back in the '40s, now used for storing junk. Senza (husband) has a lawyer friend who imports wine and has told us it would (with, of course, about $2000 worth of work) make an ideal wine cellar. I am probably going to put my foot down on this one, though. On days when the 3 teen mobsters are driving me dithers I'd probably lock myself down there with a good book and drain every bottle!:):) Who needs that temptation?
My m-i-l and her SO are pretty cute. They think they ARE 18 again! Last year they went on a barge cruise of French canals. "We slept separately, though," she felt it necessary to inform us. Uh...too much information, as my kids would say.

I'm sorry, but I cannot, in good conscience, stop talking about wine. LOL. It's a passion! And..........if I had the opportunity to do what your husband wants to...? I'd be done by now! And locking yourself in your wine cellar.......hmmm...a good book......a bottle of 1998 Marques Cab (reds are my favourite).....an entire WHEEL of camembert & some fruit.....my heart is palpitating...LOL! In my opinion, there are NO FOUR THINGS that compliment each other as WELL in this world as wine/cheese/book/fruit.
Damn. *Selecting a bottle to have with dinner tonight now....*
Psst....did you know that there is a vineyard tour you can take in France......but instead of driving they take you from one vineyard to the next in a hot air balloon, sampling wines.......*fainting*........

laurie, I said quit!!! I don't teach on Thursdays, and the wine shop is just around the corner...there's a nice unaged pecorino in the fridge...and I am in the middle of a good book called Crunchy Cons (food for thought, whether you're liberal or conservative)...and I have the house to myself for another 3 hours. Recipe for disaster. I am going to get tough, go swim my laps at the gym, and then figure out what to dole out for supper. Son has swim practice after school today, and will hit the house wanting Brontosaurus Burgers and whole hams later. The girls are soooo much easier to feed...a little pasta and salad...Senza and I will probably have the same...plus a glass of...what's that wine you mentioned:):)???
What part of Canada? We have spent some very lovely vacations in Vancouver and Quebec in the past 10 years. I speak pretty passable French, as my uncle married a Quebecois back during WWII and she was around a lot when I was growing up.

EEK mine said 74... maybe should consider quitting smoking....
Mine said 82... and get this, if I lower my bmi a couple percent then I'll die at 83. yeay another year.
*....grumbling about being locked out of the site for the entire afternoon.....* So. Where was I? :o) LOL
89 - but i think i'll live longer, that's the plan anyway. several great-grandmothers lived into their 90's, grandma lila made it to 103. and because i'm a little silly, i plugged the boyfriend's stats in. i hope he really gives up smoking. he's only 'scheduled' to make it to 65. i need him around at least into the 80's. we want to enjoy the whole rocking chairs on the porch, and i don't think i want to out live him by that much. i might die of broken heart if he goes before me.
I'll make it to 88, apparently. I'm dying on Christmas though :( Another site I went on said I was going to die on 6/6/66. Morbid, huh?
I'll be 84!! If only I could own a pet where I live......................
OMG it even gives you a date...
Given your current habits, you are likely to die on: 4/25/2073
thats crazy, why can't they just tell you the age... Now Im gonna be like yea so Im dying on this day... nah I'll probably forget. But still
I'll be 88... Which gives me 67 years... I don't want to get old =(
