How is your life different after losing weight?

Any changes?

Ironically, not much. I realized that I could have been happier with a heavier body. Oh yes, it is great to know that I can step into tight jeans without feeling self-conscious but I feel sorry for the years I wasted by worrying about my butt too much.
well im 16, and i love not being winded when running or doing normal activity. i wasnt ever extremely fat, i was 140 to 150 ( estimate) for 5 foot 5.
When I was in college, I dropped 15 pounds and met the man of my dreams. We are still married today!
Well I get "checked out" ALOT more often then when I was 30 lbs heavier.. I don't like it.. I mean, it makes me feel good about myself but at the same time it makes me feel bad? Does that make sense?

My sex drive is out of control. How's that for a bonus? I've become an unashamed sexpot. But only in the most respectible of ways.

I have more self-confidence which is leading me to stick up for myself when called for. I smile more at people. I flirt. The libido thing really took me by suprise, never factored that in as a possible change.

Hi it's Rose.  I have lost 191 pounds in fifteen months.  I am feeling better than I did at 445 pounds and love the fact that I can buy clothes off the rack, something I couldn't do at a 5X-6X.  I have found that my real friends remained my friends and really supported me.  Some of the surprises have been people I thought were friends trying to sabotage my efforts (one gave me a cookbook with eggnog based recipes for breads and cakes) and rude comments (two people at church told me I'd never succeed; they have since apologized).  My husband has been incredibly supportive and treated me to a clothes shopping spree where he told me to pick what I wanted and not look at the prices.  We are planning our 25th anniversary trip and may go climb pyramids, now that I can.  Thanks for letting me be verbose in my celebration!
i'm only half-way to goal, but already the changes are very noticeable.  the most important, probably -- now I know that if my 2 year old grandson darts away from me, I can run after him and actually catch him.  do you have any idea how much a grandma can worry about something like that -- the fear of having to watch him run away and not being able to do anything about it.

lots of other good changes, too, but that's the most delicious.
Hi, I've only lost 28 lbs with about 26 more to go but here is what I love.

1. My blood pressure is down from 130/80 to 119/71!

2. I used to get headaches daily but now I do not.

3. I have more confidence.

Looking better is a great bonus and it was my initial motivation when I started this "journey" but now it is all about my health and living a fuller life.  My kids like the new me as well because I spend more time doing things with them like riding bikes.

What a fun thread.. thanks for starting it.

I have MUCH more confidence. Even though I stil have 10-20 more pounds to loose, I notice that when I go out now, I laugh, I flirt, I dance, I generally have a great time. Before I used to just hige in a corner because I felt like everyone was judging me. They might still be judging me, but I don't care. I'm having much more fun now. I also really enjoy being healthy and feeling like I have energy, instead of just feeling dragged down.

I do wish I hadn't been so self-concious when I was heavier though.. I missed out on alot!

I have only changed my habits recently (within the last three months), but I started with a weight of 475 lbs. I am not sure what I weigh now, but I have gone from a 6x down to a 4x in size and that alone has made finding clothes easier. Also there were people who tried to sabotage me, but I just surprised them with the strength of my resolve. I haven't 'cheated' once.

Here are the changes I have experienced so far, even though I have a long way to go.

1. People who i know who don't usually talk to me much are showing a lot of support, 2. My attitude is better overall. Probably because the exercise helps relieve my stress. 3. I have much more endurance, I get winded a lot less, my heart rate is lower 4. My blood sugar is way down, my cholesterol is way down, my sodium is way down, my blood pressure is way down too 5. I used to get heartburn, gas, diarrhea, headaches, etc, but that has all gone away

Things I look forward to in the future include being able to shop for clothing in any store I visit, flying in an airplane without having to use a seatbelt extender, or pay for two seats, having people look at me and not pre judge me as lazy, stupid, and dirty.
Hmm, well my weight loss makes me feel different. It makes me feel a bit more agile. Its easier to jump around and climb fences (haha). My boyfriend can pick me up now. I dont cross my arms over my tummy to hide it anymore. The shirts that bearly fit me before are loose now. I dont drear about walking around anymore. I dont feel my neck jiggling when I walk (one of my favories). I remember what its like to feel hungry, and not just constantly stuffing food in my mouth. Not winded when walking up stairs. Easier to find clothes that I actually like to wear, and arnt just big baggy hooides or jackets. Can you beleive that all through High School I always wore my jacket? I was way too shy to just not wear it. I felt so naked with out it. I felt like I needed it or something. It was weird. Aanyways.

Also, I love to eat Vegies now. I used to be a Chips fanatic (ok I still am :-P ) but now I like to snack on red peppers and carrots and celery. I love how good I feel after I do.

Umm.

Uhh.

I like to show off my tummie now~ :-)

Haha. Yeah.

No matter what massive changes you go through in life, you always end up in your day-to-day routine.  So even though something new is either there, or something is no longer there,(e.g. money, a lover, a friend, a house, etc.), you always adjust.  I am adjusting to the fact that I am about 60 pounds lighter than I was a few years ago.  So it's not like I spend every moment thinking "OMG, I can't believe it!".  But I do feel it in some way about it every few minutes--whether I'm sitting in my chair at work and no longer having to recline in my chair, or whether I am just walking down the hall and enjoying my increased mobility and my happier feet and knees.  Or when I'm just watching TV and unconsciously feeling my body with my hands--amazed that I feel bones and muscles that were once buried.  It also makes the process of clothes shopping SO much better.  And of course there's the whole sex thing.  If you look better and know it, you'll feel better naked.  And of course you should be getting more sex and enjoying it more!  Let's face it--that's a HUGE part of weight loss and wanting to look good.
I feel better about myself as I look better and know I have accomplished something that a lot of people strive for.  I also like not feeling like a walking snow man (imagine the 3 round clumps of snow that snowmen consist of) when I'm at the beach or pool.  That's how I felt before and I'm working on being there again by this summer.
The biggest change for me is I can walk without it hurting my feet! I love going places and just enjoying life. I like going into wal mart and fitting into a size 12 and 14. I have lost 68 pounds and have 22 left to go. I also like trying on shirts and not looking like I'm pregnant!!! I like wearing snug fitting jeans with the stretch in them and actually looking good in them;)   I could go on and on, but life is just more enjoyable and less work now that I have lost weight. My only regret is not doing this 20 years ago. I am turning 50 this year and I have been well over 200 for most of my 30 year marriage!! I feel like I'm a 30 something!!! I have a 25 year old daughter who is my fashion expert and she keeps me reined in a little, she has good taste. well I'm off. Keep on losing, it sure is worth it!!! linda
Oh I guess I forgot the most important thing. The health benefits. All my blood work is amazing, and my doctors are very encoraged. I found out I was diabetic, and that's when I HAD to go on a "diet". I am not on a diet, but on an eating plan for life. enjoy! linda
