Life is too short to . . .

Quote  |  Reply

As I was getting dressed this morning, I thought to myself, life is too short to wear boring underwear.  And I threw 3 boring pairs away.

And then I thought, and life is too short to wear sensible shoes.  (Unless you have to, and then life is too short to wear shoes in boring colors.)  So I pitched a pair.

Now it's your turn.  Fill in the blank.

Life is too short to . . .

not eat chocolate -- so I eat some frequently

life is 2 short 2 be perfect

Life is too short to not laugh at yourself at least once a day

Life is too short! So break the rules!

Forgive Quickly! Kiss slowly!

love truly! Laugh uncontrollably!

And never regret anything that made you smile!

Life is too short not to have fun.

Life is too short to put this off.

Life is too short not to do the things you enjoy.

Life is too short to waste time on people that are downers.

Life is too short to waste energy on holding grudges or feeling bad about what happened to you in the past. Free yourself. (I am still trying to accomplish this!)

Life is too short to worry about money. I wish I had more, and less debt, but so does everyone. Having more things won't buy me happiness.

Life is too short to not reach for what you want right now!

beckyeas...I am going to throw away all my too big, boring granny panties when I get home! Thanks for the reminder. It's rediculous that I am sitting here in underwear that are 2 sizes too big!

This was sent to me in an email years ago. but I think this says it best:

"Dance Like No one is Watching:

We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another.

Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough
and we'll be more content when they are.

After that we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage.

We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, when we retire.

The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now.

If not now ... when?

Your life will always be filled with challenges. It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway.

One of my favorite quotes comes from Alfred D Souza ...

"For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin.
But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life."

This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.

So, treasure every moment that you have. And treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time ... and remember that time waits for no one ...

So stop waiting until you finish school ... until you go back to school ... until you lose ten pounds ... until you gain ten pounds ... until you have kids ... until your kids leave the house ... until you start work ... until you retire ... until you get married ... until you get divorced ... until Friday night ... until Sunday morning ... until you get a new car or home ... until your car or home is paid off ... until spring, until summer ... until fall ... until winter ... until you are off welfare ... until the first or fifteenth ... until your song comes on ... until you've had a drink ... until you've sobered up ... until you die ... until you are born again to decide that there is no better time than right now to be happy ...

Happiness is a journey ... not a destination!!

Thought for the day:

"Work like you don't need money,
Love like you've never been hurt,
And dance like no one's watching."

Sometimes it is hard to let go of things that are not important.

I still have stuff from over 20 years ago in boxes all over the storage room and in the attic.  I have things I have bought for "good" use for my kitchen and dining and they sit in the cabinet gathering dust because the house isn't "clean" enough for company, I don't look "good" enough to entertain...

You get the idea - its time to stop this behavior, its holding me back.

life is too short to worry; who cares who's watching, who cares what other people think, This is what Im thinking right now cause I want to do something really unlike me. I just have this urge to go crazy, I just want to do what anndjoe says and break the rules pretty much all my life i've done things sensibly and quietly, I wanna revive whats left of my youth and act like a teenager.

I keep the granny panties and other less than sexy panties for TTOM.

im_a_cc......go for it...do something to shock yourself and those around you, make sure it's something that will make you smile and laugh.....Life's just too short not to Laughing

Life is too short to not wear those Sunday socks.  I don't see them as ratty and full of holes, I see them as air conditioned.
victoriagirl--I did the same thing. I had lost some weight, and bought new clothes, but hadn't replaced those nasty granny panties. I have now! Enjoy shopping for some awesome new ones!
Life is too short to not do the things you want to do. There are always reasons not to but if it's something you want bad enough you'll figure out a way to do it.

And life is too short to obsess over finances. Budget but have fun.

Life is too short to be embarrassed when you fart a fat one in public

Life is too short to worry about what other people think.  You can only be who you are.

That's funny, I think life's too short to wear uncomfortable shoes!

Life is too short to keep waiting for tomorrow.

Life is too short to not eat the things you like!

Life is too short to worry about anything!

Life is too short to let these @##&)&$# at work put me in a grumpy mood.

Beckyeas - I love your Corgi. Too cute!
