Lift Like a Man Look Like a Goddess
Hi,
I just finished reading the book, Lift Like a Man Look Like a Goddess. It sounds really promising. No fad diets or crazy workout routines. Just good old fashion good food and weightlifting.
I was wondering if anyone had or is currently reading/following this book? Just started last week and it is kicking my butt, in a good way. I have been working out and lifting for a couple years now but this is really pushing me to my limits.
Just looking for other opinions and stories.
Thank you!
Are you talking about New Rules of Lifting for Women?
I do it. We have a group. If you haven't already, join it! All the ladies are a great support.
Yes that is it. I will look for it.
Thank you!
I'm actively following the book too. I'm a little over 1/2 way through stage 1. It's kicking my butt too, in a good way :). I just found the group this morning, after all this time on this forum!
how can I join this group. I started to read this book last year before getting pregnant. Now I feel like I forgotten how to lift because it's been over a year now. I used to be able to squat my own weight just about but now I highly doubt that. I need to get back to lifting like that but it's hard when your time is limited now that I have a baby.
The group is here.
Fantastic book! I bought it in January and it's been super useful.
Just as a testimony as to the results of lifting ... I had to stop running (bad knee) or even doing anything on the treadmill, about a month ago. So, I started lifting again (it'd been a little while) 2-3 times per week, hooping, and jumping rope (doing HIIT 2-3 times/week) and that is IT. NO traditional cardio. I've lost more weight in 3 weeks of that routine than I did with months of running and I've noticed results in just that 3 weeks!
Is it soley due to lifting? Is it because I hula hoop like a madwoman now (I love it)? Is it the HIIT that I didn't start until I couldn't run anymore? My eating (which has been super good, at least 6 days/wk)? A combo of all of them? Who knows, but I'm seeing results AND spending less time working out, so I'm stickin' with it!
I'm doing the program and love it. I keep a small calorie deficit, though not too much because I'm focusing on really feeding my body but in the 3 weeks since I started that program I've seen some major results.
I do it and I love it! I'm still on the first stage though.
I have and read the book....although I don't follow the book, my routines and eating plans are much like those in the book.
Can't beat it if you ask me! LOL

So you can log your weight -- which allows you to do the following:
