100 pounds lighter as of today!!!

I am actually still at 185.2 and not 185.0 but i'm not counting that .2 pounds, lol. Now I don't know what to do exactly, maybe cut back on exercise to 5 days a week instead of 6 and maybe up my calories a little. Probably will be a little more lax with myself about what I will allow myself to eat. But for the last 5 1/2 months i've lived just this way... if I keep going like I am then i'll continue to lose and to be honest I am happy with where i'm at but I just want to lose some fat in a few places and gain more muscle or just tone up what I have. I've gone from a 46 pants to 34 and maybe i'll post a pic of me holding my old pants, lol. I know how lose now, I definately know how to get fat... will be interesting to see if I can learn to maintain and just get more athletic and healthy. We'll see..... the next journey begins. I am not setting any more goals, but I am curious as to where my weight ends up. And hopefully my skin regains some of it's elasticity as losing 100lbs in less then 6 months as caused some, luckily not as bad as you see on tv but I notice it.

Anyways, thanks to whomever read that ramble and to those that gave me info or let me vent all that on this site. It's been a great help... and there are some very cool people on this site that have helped!

Congratulations! Keep up the good work!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!

maintaining may not be easy. but you've conquered weight loss, which means you can very well maintain it. it takes more strength to lose it than to gain it. DUH. therefore, maintaining should be right in between!

Congratulations! What an accomplishment!!

Wow what an awesome job! How did you lose the weight so quickly if you don't mind me asking? Did you have weight loss surgery? If not then what was a typical days menu like?

Good luck with your maintenance too.

Ummm, no to surgery. I think it's ok for some people in some situtations but I am not for it in general. I did it by stopping eating all the junk food, fast food, candy and soda every day. I now either walk 6+miles a day or run 5+ plus miles a day and watch what I eat and more importantly portion control.

To answer your question though about a typical menu, here is today's menu for me.

Right after my run this morning on the treadmill I had a banana and water. That was about 6:05am or so.

7:00 am I had a bowl of Kashi Go Lean Honey Almond Crunch in skim milk. That is 1cup and half a cup respectively and a 15.8oz bottle of Naken Energy Juice. Had a multiviatmin and a flax oil/omega supplement.

10:00 am just had a pear and a 100 calorie South Beach snack bar.

12:00 pm will have a South Beach Sandwich Wrap and a V8 Low Sodium 12oz. Maybe another snack bar.

3:00 pm will have a medium Fuji Apple and some natural PB from Smart Source.

6:00 pm will have some whole wheat spagetti with organic sauce and 2 pieces of wheat bread with garlic bread sprinkle on it. Some Steamed broccoli and probably a glass of 1% milk too.

Desert I might have some cut up pineapple chunks with fat free redi-whip or a 100 cal snack bar.

EDIT: Lots of water of course.

Hopefully that helps. I'm not hungry very much at all and sometimes I have a bigger dinner like taco salad but with turkey meat, fat free cheese, fat free dressing and baked dorritos. Or a turkey burger on a wheat bun. I still want to eat what I want but healthier version in small portions. The taco salad will be on a 9inch plate and just one turkey burger.

Congrats, you look great Smile

Thanks everyone, forgot to add.... i'm single now ladies!!!

Well, until I get my ring back from getting sized... lol. My wife is going to get some teasing till I get it back. I went from a 13 1/2 to a 10. I don't know if 10 is normal or not but the jewler was impressed, lol.

Congrats Brent  Youve been working your butt off...Is it easier to keep up with your son now.  I know he was a big motivator for you...  Congrats again  WIsh it was that easy for me the weight is coming off slowly at  1 lb a week  Its taking forever LOL...I laughed about the wedding ring mine is now just fitting again.... in 25 more lbs it wont stay on anymore  that means a new one YEA!!

It is definately easier to keep up with him now. I don't mind doing anything he wants which is usually him on my back and me on my hands and knees while he screams "Ride the pony!". LOL

Ya, the ring thing is pretty funny... the price of gold has gone way up in the last 4 years since we bought mine and we couldn't afford a new one with all the new clothes i've had to buy so they are going to charge us 75 fee and replace it for us. 75 bucks instead of 800 works for me!

I have a new pic up of my son and I at a pond at Apple Hill near Lake Tahoe.

Wow, archer-- I have definetly been reading all the post that you have written--and you have come so far! I like to read your post for inspiration! I feel like I eat the same amount as you do --I think the only exception is you worked out a lot! I'm definetly not up to that level yet or nor  do I have the time to take a 6 mile walk! I commend you and will use your story as inspiration to continue to my goal. Thanks and please do keep posting

It makes me very happy to inspire you even a little bit. I started walking only 30 mins at basically no incline. It's taken almost 6 months to build up, I don't like getting up at 4:30 am either, or falling asleep on my wife when Hereo's is on because I can't stay up, lol.

My advice is to walk as much as you can, my wife has lost 30 pounds with me and she walks like 30 to 40 mins only 4 days a week or so after my son goes to bed while we watch tv. Just do what you can, it's still helpful and will make a difference!!!

Thanks archer for posting that information. You have done such a fabulous job in losing weight and getting fit. You are an inspiration!

Congrats Archer!

You look like a totally different (and really happy) guy!  I bet your wife's thrilled - not only because you look great, but because she'll have you around for a lot longer!

Thank you... and I think the latter part depends on the day. ;-) She thinks I look like a kid now... lol.

I must say (and I want to keep this PG-13) but if anyone wants another motivation for losing weight... EVERYTHING is better when you're in shape and healthy. And by Everything I mean "everything". ;-)

Congrats!  My mom introduced me to CC and she just made maintance also.  She got her wedding ring resized last week too!

Congrats again!

Congratulations!  What a great gift you've given your wife and family...more time with a healthier and happier you!

Jane

Congratulations on your outstanding accomplishment! LaughingCoolSmile Healthy success stories like yours are what Calorie Count is all about ... Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
p.s. - your son is soooo cute and you look at least 10 years younger with the weightloss. Congrats again, you are seriously impressive!

Congratulations!  That is such a huge accomplishment and you have done such a fantastic job!  Thanks so much for showing us how it's done!!  I hope you stay with us as you work through your maintenance - you will most likely still need some support while you balance things out; and we will appreciate you setting an example for us!

You look FANTASTIC!!  Way to go!!!

Thanks you guys, it's all very nice and positive and I appreciate it. And I can stress enough how happy it makes me to be any kind of example or give the slightest bit of encouragement to anyone else.

I am already stressing about maintence... I don't know if I should eat more or exercise less or how I can go about getting in better shape without losing weight at the same time and all that.

The good news is that I love most of the healthy food I now eat and I love exercising so hopefully I can do it without going all man-arexic and without going back to being heavy again. So i'm sure i'll continue to need you guys! And the nutritional info pages! ;-)
