I usually just buy the little packages in the store that are like 90 calories.

I get the 2% milkfat one.
This may sound weird as most people like to mix in fruit in theirs....but my dad brought me up on this recipe and i love it!

i usually eat 2 percent milkfat cottage cheese, and i put a tablespoon of mayonnaise, the TINIEST bit of balsamic vinegar (as it goes a long way!) and perhaps (if u feel like it) chop up some green peppers.

i absolutely love it but its just a suggestion!
What's great as a side item is if you take 1/2 a canned pear, put some cottage cheese on top, and top it with a dollop of fat free or low fat mayo.  The sweet and savory really go together well!
I would like help with this too. I tried everything still havent found the right taste. I actualy like fat free ricotta cheese. Thats good with a little cut up tomato and crushed hot pepper flakes.
when I was little I hated cottage cheese, so my mom use to put a little sugar on top it, and I have been eating it like ever since, but it really is'nt good for the calories
Hmm, I ended up telling my mom (who just went to the bank and the store) to please pick up some blackberries orblueberries for them, since they're so good and only in season once a year. I'd still love to hear all these suggestions though. I have never had cottage cheese with anything besides fruit or raisons before, and I don't think I've ever thought of it as something that goes with savory stuff before.
As a treat, a drizzle of honey on top....

mmmmm
Mix a little pineapple and juice in with your cottage cheese, or I think you can buy it already mixed together. Its yummy. :-D
I like to mix it in with lots of dinner dishes I make to get some kind of dairy/cheese flavor but with less calories and fat, and more bulk. I often throw it in eggs/quiche, various rice/bulgar/various grain pilafs...I just tend to mix a little with everything. Mix with a little mozz for pizza...
I eat 2% and love it with just a dash of seasoned salt on it with chopped tomatoes and cucumbers on the side.  It's also good with a little bit of bacon chunks mixed in.

I learned this from my mother in law:  If you are out of sour cream, measure out the same amount of cottage cheese and a bit of white vinegar into your blender or food processor and blend until smooth.  The taste is fairly similar!
i like to put splenda and cinnamon, sometimes top it on toast
I buy the low fat kind. I like it with tomatos!

When I was little my mom would put on pears and then sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on it.

Also I just tried in in a celery stock...I like it that way too.

My grandpa use to eat his black - with lots of pepper.
i found a recipe on here a while back with cottage cheese.  I'll look for it and post it.  I made it, and I liked it, but my boyfriend took one bite and wouldn't beven look at it again!

Here it is.  I made mine with cherry jello, i think I will try the chocolate next time!

My mother used to make a salad which consisted of one lettuce leaf, a scoop of cottage cheese, a piece of canned fruit (usually a pear or pineapple ring), and a spoonful of mayo. After years of this, I got pretty tired of the fruit/cc combination. But I still eat a lot of cottage cheese for breakfast. Today: 1/4 c 1% no sodium added cc, topped with 1T chili verde salsa, paprika and 1/4 c fresh chopped cilantro.
It's very good with a piece of garlic naan, which is an indian flatbread. The Giant near my house has them in the bakery, but I've made them at home as well. Yum!
With salt and a fresh homegrown tomato!!  Yum! Yum!

Edit:  Sometimes I add flaxseed oil to my cottage cheese.
a Lancaster County tradition (Where I'm from) is apple butter mixed in... absolutely magnificent!
