I go out a lot, whether with friends or with my boyfriend, and I always end up drinking way to many calories. Anyone know of some good low cal drinks that don't taste overly alcoholic like most mixed drinks?

Bacardi limon and diet. Samual Adams distributes Twisted Tea(my favorite) and they have just put out a light version that is 115 cal. But you can definately taste the artificial sweetener.
water
water with a lime twist.
Kinda surprised you got responsive suggesting water! :)
Definitely try to go with either light beers (not too great) or a clear liquor and a diet something. It still packs a calorie punch but not as bad!

I drink diet 7up, or fresca with vodka. But becareful I have noticed and then read, mixing with diet soda makes the alcohol enter the blood stream quicker, so drink slower. Good luck.
diet coke and vodka
champagne
white wine
vodka and any fruit juice
all of those choices are around 100 calories and very yummy..

Vodka and club soda with lemon juice and a lemon wedge. It just tastes refreshing... the lemon neutralizes the vodka taste. I don't drink anything else (alcohol related) when I'm trying to lose.
Oh yea, and boo to the posts that suggest drinking water. There's nothing wrong with having a few drinks... this isn't prison (not for me anyway).
I acutally drink on Saturdays but I definitely drink alot of water in between my drinks. I usually drink Becks light (64 calories). for every drink I try to have aprox 16 oz of water... it does seem to help.
Absolute Vanilla or Mandarin and club soda.
I go out a lot, too.
I used to drink purple rains (long island with chambourd instead of coke) until I realized they were 800 calories a pop. That's like drinking an entire Chipotle burrito!
So, I switched to vodka-diet cokes.. until I read about Aspertame and something about it putting a layer around fat cells making it harder to lose weight, etc.
Oddly enough, what I'm drinking lately is a Stoli water with lemon. As long as you get decent vodka instead of the rail stuff, and you squeeze the lemon into the drink, it just tastes like lemon water.. and is actually refreshing, I find.
Clear spirits are going to be lowest in calories.. and while they aren't great.. (a shot of vodka has something like 115 calories in it).. they have no carbs.
For mixing drinks at home, there are a couple of great low calorie mixers.. Ocean Spray makes a diet cranberry that has like.. 5 calories in it.. and Super Target's brand makes a bottled lemonade that has no calories in it. SO tasty.
You CAN still drink and lose weight.. it just depends on your diet and exercise. I didn't change my drinking habits at all, and I've still dropped 40 lbs since mid January.

I'm a social drinker too and have successfully lost weight while maintaining my social habits.
I try to stick with vodka (good vodka only, mollymclashes is right!), soda, a splash of cranberry juice, and a squeeze of lime. Or, I have a lite beer.
Either way, I concentrate on drinking slooooowly so the calories don't add up.

You guys have been a lot of help... I just needed some new ideas. I think that cutting out the beer and sticking to the clear booze will really make a difference. Thanks!

And boo to you for criticizing people's right to an opinion. Those were honest replies. So na na na na na! :P

Miller Lite only has 96 calories and 3.2 carbs.
alayney~
My reply was honest as well... if others can post their feelings, I can post mine.
It's really funny how your post negates your point. If you felt that honest opinions should be respected, then you would respect mine as well. I'd learn some technicalities of debate before making yourself look like a hypocrite.

Who said I suggested drinking only water? There are many ways to include water in your drinking to cut the calories. Every other drink can be water (helps with hangovers), watering down drinks, etc etc.
Don't assume that because water was given as an option that it suggests not drinking any alcohol at all. Its a viable option just as any other.

Aside from all the boo-ing... back to drinking...
I sometimes drink sugar free redbull and vodka.

Aspartame has a bad reputation which it doesn't deserve - it won't give you cancer and it won't rot your insides.
More on topic: I can say that I've tried Diet Pepsi and tequila and it was not a tasty blend of flavors.

I really like a lime fizz. It's soda water, vodka, and lime cordial. pretty good, and not too high in calories... also g & t
