How you like to fill a wrap/tortilla

Quote  |  Reply
I start with La Tortilla Factory.  Either their 100cal olive oil wrap or their 50cal lowfat lowcarb garlic tortilla.  I spread it with some wishbone nofat bleu cheese (amazing), sprinkle with oregano.  I add oscar mayer chilled chunk chicken, raw mushroom slices and chopped onions.

sugar free strawberry preserves, then grill it. my cheap version of a poptart. or any burrito worthy frozen meal..some work better than others. example:

michelina's lean gourmet three cheese chicken, or their salisbury steak (surprisingly)  were good in the wrap

lean cuisine jumbo rigatoni with meatballs: good, but not good enough to try again

Oh, the ways . . . Hehe.  I LOVE wraps and have one of some kind almost every day for lunch.  I get tired of the same thing quickly, so I mix it up a lot.  It's always on a LTF tortilla, usually the multigrain EVOO one.  It's my favorite.

Brown rice, beans, salsa, shredded cheddar.

Sliced grilled chicken breast, smoked turkey, or grilled jumbo shrimp with apple slices, baby spinach, lettuce, a few chopped roasted almonds, sometimes with a Laughing Cow Light wedge spread on the tortilla while it's still warm, sometimes with a sprinkle of shredded sharp cheddar, green or red onions, and usually salsa.

Sliced grilled chicken breast with mandarin oranges, lettuce, a tablespoon of whole berry cranberry, and a few chopped roasted almonds.

"Fajita" wrap (what I had today, leftover from last night's dinner) with fajita marinated chicken breast strips, a few jumbo shrimp, green and red bell pepper strips, and red onion strips, all cooked together with a small amount of EVOO like for fajitas, all accumulated liquid drained off at the end of cooking (and a lot of the oil), and sprinkled with a LITTLE real bacon bits and shredded cheese at the end.  Put it on a small LTF wrap and top with salsa and you have the healthiest, tastiest "fajita" wrap in the world.

Man, I could probably keep going, but I won't.  I love a delicious, healthy wrap!

Banana PB and honey
Cream cheese, honey and blueberries (low fat of course)
Chicken and salsa
Any leftovers really
Well I'm never able to find the La Tortilla Factory wraps but here are some of my favorite things to put in wraps:

Peanut butter (Pb2), sugar free jelly, banana

PB2 and apple

Rice and beans (could add low-fat cheese)

Chicken salad (low fat)

Tuna salad (low fat)

Chicken, honey mustard, lettuce and tomato

Tomatoes and hummus

Chicken, spinach, tomato, curry yogurt sauce (feta cheese too if you have the calories)

Boca burger

Various vegetables sauteed in a little olive oil

These are just some of my favorites.  I like a lot of variety.  Can't think of any more right now though.
I'm Mexican--we use tortillas instead of spoons. haha. I haven't had a real authentic Mexican-made tortilla in a while, but the La Tortilla Factory tomato & basil ones are amazing. I've filled them with chicken, cheese, cottage cheese, scrambled egg whites, beans, and anything I crave.. they're a great way to get LOTS of fiber into your diet.

What is PB2?

I like hummus, thin-sliced cucumber, radish, and red bell-pepper, and taboule. Or peanut butter and banana or low-sugar jam. Or leftovers. Or grilled veggies, with or without beans and rice.

All these sound yummy and I want to try them butttttt....the tortillas I have that are in the fridge expired August 16th. :-/ Would it be terribly disgusting if I still ate them? :-p
If they're still soft and have no blue/green mold (look carefully), they should be ok -- if you stored them in the fridge they probably are -- not promising, just saying that many things are still very edible after the exp date
I once ate a La Tortilla Factory tortilla that looked fine, but was slightly.. wet. haha, don't ask why. I ate it BEFORE I saw the expiration date, which happened to be well before the fact. The point is.. I'm still here :D
Lettuce, black olives, diced onion, banana peppers/pepperoncinis, light feta cheese, cubed chicken or turkey, red wine vinegar and tbl of dijonaise or ff mayo (light italian if out of vinegar).
